Beate Weekend Sketch #64

I can't believe it's Friday already! This week absolutely flew by. I thought that for today's sketch, I would make a card for the day! We're going to a Halloween party tonight and I think we're doing a little trick or treating. We'll see. I used the House of Haunts set from Stampin' UP! I used the circle in the sketch for the moon instead of for a sentiment. To make the card a little more "spooky" I used the zig zag border punch rather than scallops.

Be sure to see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn,Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have come up with for this sketch. I can't wait to see! Whatever your plans are for this evening, have fun and be safe! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- House of Haunts (SU); Paper- Basic Black (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), yellow (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Whisper White craft (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, brads (Making Memories), Martha Stewart border punch, 1 3/8" circle punch; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Peas Have a Joyful

Michelle at Stamper's Dream sent me this stamp a while ago and this is the first time I've inked it up. I just thought it was adorable. I remembered this stamp last night as peas were part of our dinner! LOL This is the Joyful Peas stamp from Penny Black. You can find this (and many other) adorable stamps at Stamper's Dream. I colored them with Copic markers and used my Welcome Baby Cuttlebug folder to continue the "round" theme from the image. I really do need to start thinking about my Christmas cards. I know some of you have already started yours. . .I need to follow your lead! Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you're having a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Joyful Peas (Penny Black); Paper- Pure Poppy (PTI), Basic Black (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, Welcome Home Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), satin ribbon (May Arts); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jackie challenged us to get out our brayers. I don't really use a brayer that often, so this was fun for me. I used the Bouncing Brayer Technique to create the background for Angel Wings Sophia. I love how you can leave white space with this technique. It makes for a beautiful sky, which I thought would be perfect with Angel Wings Sophia. This card is on its way to Jodi. . .hope she likes it! Make sure you stop by the other Prettie Girl blog to see what they've done with their brayer!

The next Prettie Pajama Party is this Saturday, November 1st at 8pm EST! We hope to see you there! There are quite a few ADORABLE stamps being released. The Prettie Girls will start some sneak peeks on October 30th, so if you want to be tempted, check out their blogs then!

Be Inspired #29

I loved the light, airy feeling of the inspiration piece this week. . .especially since the weather's getting a little dark and heavy here. I used a couple of sets I received from GinaK on the cruise! I stamped the flowers and foliage in Bashful Blue and Kiwi Kiss. The card didn't take very long at all. I think the layout took the most thought since I couldn't decided what to do. Make sure you check out what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts have come up with for today's challenge. I'm sure they will all be absolutely beautiful! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Tree Silhouettes, Tropical Flowers (GinaK Designs); Paper- Kraft (PTI), Basic Black (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Kiwi Kiss, Bashful Blue (SU), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- scallop border punch (SU), white organdy ribbon (Darice); Finished card measures 4.25" square

I'm Back!

Just wanted to let you all know I'm back from the cruise! I'm trying to get back into the schedule of daily life here at home and sort through all my pictures. I have lots of pictures to share with you, but I thought I'd at least post a couple today and say hello and THANK YOU for stopping by while I was gone. I had such a wonderful time and met so many wonderful people! It was all very exciting. Can't wait to share it all with you!

The first picture here is the view from the beach in Labadee, Haiti. . .our first stop. Isn't that an incredible view? We had to tender in from the ship. I thought the view of the ship from the beach was amazing though. The second picture is of me in Cozumel, Mexico. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Very hot, but gorgeous! I LOVE how bright the sky looked in this picture. I hope you all had a wonderful week! As soon as I get my pictures organized, I'll be posting them for you to see! Thanks for stopping by!

Beate Weekend Sketch #63

What a sweet sketch from Beate! I just LOVE it! I used my Berry Kiss designer paper to create this card. I remember when I first got this stamp set. It wasn't on my list of "must haves", but I kept seeing such gorgeous creations with it and HAD TO HAVE IT! LOL I thought since it had been sitting for a while, I'd use it! Be sure and stop by to see the gorgeous creations of Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Essence of Love (SU); Paper- Berry Kiss DS, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red (SU); Ink- Close to Cocoa, Whisper White Craft (SU); Accessories- white organdy polka dot ribbon (May Arts), 1 1/4", 1 3/8" and scallop circle punches (SU), paper piercer, Chocolate Chip marker; Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

SASI Stamps Now Available!

Today's the day you can get the three newly released stamp sets at Taylored Expressions! For this project, I used the Tag Treats and Home Sweet Home sets. I've always loved this Snowman Poop poem and was so excited to see it in stamp form! I decided to make a door hanger gift with it. You know, something you could leave on a neighbor's door during the busy holiday season just to make them smile. All I did was put a bunch of marshmallows in a cello bag and tied it with a ribbon and tag! Super simple, super cute. For other gift ideas using the Tag Treats set, visit the blogs of the Baker's Dozen (in my sidebar) and see what delicious and festive treats they've come up with! Hope you had a great week and an even better weekend! Thanks for visiting! How Ya Been?

At our last Prettie Pajama Party, one of the challenges was to use a technique that we had never tried before. For me, it was the Faux Silk Technique. I have ALWAYS loved the look of it, but never tried it. I added one little step in mine by stamping on the cardstock as well as on the tissue paper. Kind of a neat effect, no? I used the Look Who's Perky set from Paper Pretties. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Look Who's Perky (Paper Pretties); Paper- Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Regal Rose (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), tissue paper; Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Whisper White Craft (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), wide Regal Rose grosgrain (SU), brads (Making Memories); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jessie challenged us to make a
card that SPARKLES! So, here is my sparkly card! I used the Trim the Tree Sophia, which is the November Stamp of the Month Club stamp from Paper Pretties. (You have until October 31st to sign up for the club if you want her now!) I put glue all over Trim the Tree Sophia's dress and dunked her in Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Then I used green stickles for her waist band and bow. The ornament is Christmas Stickles. As if that wasn't enough sparkles, I ran a piece of Kiwi Kiss through my Xyron and poured Dazzling Diamonds on the sticky side. The strip of red glitter was made using a piece of sticky strip. This card is VERY sparkly in real life, so I hope Danielle was wearing sunglasses when she opened it! LOL Be sure to see what the other Prettie Girls created for their card that sparkles! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Trim the Tree Sophia (Paper Pretties), All Holidays (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Accessories- Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Christmas Red Stickles, green Stickles, scallop border punch (SU); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Short and Sweet

Here's a quick and simple little card I made with some supplies I just had sitting on my desk top. Instead of putting them away, I thought I'd make something with them! Simple, but happy and colorful, I think.

As you're reading this post, I'm on my way to the Stamp & Cruise. I still can't believe I'm going! I have my wonderful husband to thank for that as he STRONGLY encouraged me to go. :) I'm sure many of you moms know what I'm talking about when I say I'm REALLY struggling with leaving my kids. At the same time, I'm very excited for the cruise and to meet some new, wonderful people! I know the kids will be very well taken care of, but I've never really been away from them for an extended amount of time. Yikes! I just wanted to let you know that if you try to contact me, I won't be able to get back to you until I return. I have posts scheduled for you all week, so you won't really miss me! :) As always, I really appreciate your visits and your comments! You always brighten my day! Have a great week! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Floral Whimsy, Fluttering By (Verve Stamps); Paper- DCWV, vellum, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Wild Wasabi, Red Riding Hood(SU); Accessories- Martha Stewart border punch, paper piercer, Black polka dot organdy ribbon (May Arts), Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU), Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Beate Weekend Sketch #62

It's time for another one of Beate's Sketches! I just LOVED this sketch! I always used to make standard 4.25"x5.5" cards. Now I just LOVE to make this size (3"x6") and the 4.25" square. It's been at least a week since I made a long card, so I was excited to use this sketch! :) I used the Pocket Silhouettes set for this card and the Bella Rose Designer paper. I inked up the flower stamp in Red Riding Hood and then colored the stems of the flowers over with an Old Olive marker. Since it "needed" something else, I added the butterfly using the Martha Stewart Royal Butterfly punch. Make sure you stop by to see what gorgeous creations Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have come up with for this sketch! Thanks for stopping by today and have a WONDERFUL Friday! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Pocket Silhouettes (SU); Paper- Bella Rose, Chocolate Chip (SU); olive (The Paper Company), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Red Riding Hood, Old Olive (SU); Accessories- Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain, 1 3/8" circle punch, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip markers (SU); Royal Butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), paper piercer; Finished card measures 6"x3".

Happy Birthday, Jessie!

Today is our very own Prettie Girl Jessie's birthday! Not only her birthday, but her 30th birthday! We decided to throw a virtual birthday party for her since we couldn't be with her to celebrate this momentous occasion!! It was my job to bring the cake. I couldn't fit the whole cake in the picture, so I cut a slice to take the picture. :) The next thing I knew, my family had eaten the rest of the cake! Sorry, Jessie! I was able to save you this slice complete with cake topper! :) Hope you have a WONDERFUL day, girl! We love you!

Will you please join us in celebrating Jessie's birthday? Visit Jessie on her blog to wish her a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Don't forget to stop by the other Prettie Girl Blogs to see what they brought to the party!

Trick or Treat?

This was for the Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS the other day, to make a stairstep card. I have never made one of these before, so this was a FUN challenge! I started with the Haunted Halloween Cuttlebug folder and cut it out. I attached it to the back of the stairstep. The characters are Whiskers and Pick of the Patch from Paper Pretties. I thought they would make a nice trick or treating scene. There are SO MANY gorgeous stairstep card creations in the gallery. . .you have to check them out! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Whiskers, Pick of the Patch (Paper Pretties); Paper-Basic Black (SU), orange, green (unknown); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukinkeo); Accessories- Haunted Halloween Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), ribbon (Darice);

Embossed Verve

This month's Project Parade Challenge over on the Verve blog is to use Embossing on your creation. . .either wet or dry! It's no secret that I'm a BIG fan of embossing. . .especially dry embossing with all of those Cuttlebug folders that make it so easy. For my card I used the Forever Friends Cuttlebug folder and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers for some sparkle. The sentiment is from the Floral Whimsy set.

If you'd like to be the winner of $15 in Verve Bucks, post a link to your creation on THIS POST by October 24th at noon! A random winner will be drawn on October 25th. Can't wait to see your creations! The Verve Divas will be posting their embossed creations on the Verve Blog until the 24th, so be sure to stop by and see them! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Floral Whimsy (Verve Stamps); Paper- Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- black embossing powder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU), Forever Friends Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), circle punch, black satin ribbon (May Arts); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jodi challenged us to make a card using Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip. I don't think I've ever used this color combination, but I LOVE it! I used the Whiskers set by Paper Pretties. I found the brads in the Target $1 spot ages ago. I thought they matched perfectly.

This card is on its way to Jackie Pedro. . .I hope she likes it! Be sure to see what the other Prettie Girls (Julie Masse, Jessie Rone, Jana Weaver, Jillian Winters, Danielle Lounds, Jodi Collins, Jackie Rakoski and Jackie Pedro) did with this color challenge! I'm sure they're all fabulous! Thanks for stopping by! ETA: Have you all seen that our very own Prettie Girl Jessie Rone is a Dirty Girl? YEP! Stop on by and congratulate her! Way to go, Jessie! Be Inspired #27

I had a really tough time with this week's Inspiration Challenge. I think the pattern on the scarf was throwing me off, so I decided to just go with the colors and forget the pattern! LOL I still have LOTS of last year's In Colors left. I still LOVE them! :) I used Purely Pomegranate and River Rock for this card. I used the Textile Cuttlebug folder on the background and highlighted parts of it with a white gel pen. I stamped the Watercolor Pressed Flowers by Paper Inspirations in Purely Pomegranate and River Rock for a shadow effect. The sentiment is from the Happy Greetings set by Hero Arts. You can find the stamps and the Cuttlebug folder at Stamper's Dream.

Make sure you stop by to see what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts have been inspired to create today. I'm sure they will ALL be just gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Watercolor Pressed Flower (Paper Inspirations), Happy Greetings (Hero Arts); Paper- Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Chocolate Chip (SU); Ink- Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Chocolate Chip (SU); Accessories- Textile Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), white gel pen, small oval punch, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon (SU); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Boo Memory

Here's a little something I made a while ago, but never shared with you. As many of you know, my daughter Savannah has a severe peanut allergy. Because of her allergy, Halloween can be very tricky and not so treaty for us! There is candy that is safe for her, but a majority of candy (especially the kind that most people give out) is not safe for her. Before my list of safe candy grew, I would substitute "treats" for things like this. . .a game. I used the Trick or Sweet set from Taylored Expressions to make a Memory Game for Savannah. She's always loved to play Memory, so I thought she'd LOVE a new set of cards with a Halloween theme! I found these chipboard coaster in the Target $1 bin, so I used my Coluzzle and cut out circles for the fronts and backs of the coasters. I stamped the images and colored them in with Copic markers. The circles are attached to the coasters with Liquid Laminate. For the backs I used the Frightful Night set and the Spunky Alphabet.

Since making these cards, the girls have played with them A LOT! They are still holding strong, but we've lost one card that I can't seem to find. I may just have to make another one! LOL Thanks for stopping by and have a great start to your week! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Trick or Sweet, Frightful Night (Taylored Expressions), Spunky Alphabet (SU); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), patterned (DCWV); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- chipboard coasters (Target $1 bin), Copic markers, Liquid Laminate (Beacon), Coluzzle.

Wish

Here's a card I made for the Papertrey Ink Casual Mid-Week Challenge a couple of weeks ago. I was in a Krafty mood and I seemed to use Kraft on everything that week! :) I used the Text Boxed set. I thought the Whisper White Craft ink would give the soft, airy feeling of those "wish flowers" that you used to make a wish on and blow. My girls LOVE those flowers!

Short post today! I have lots of cleaning and laundry to do, but I wanted to pop in and say hello and thank you for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful Sunday! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Text Boxed (PTI); Paper- Kraft (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Whisper White Craft ink; Accessories- small oval punch (SU), brads (Making Memories), paper piercer; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Beate Weekend Sketch #61

When I first looked at Beate's Sketch for this week and decided which stamp set I wanted to use, my original thought was to make the focal circle the image you would see through a telescope. In this case, "land ho. . .there's a pirate a'shore." I'm not quite sure my original idea made it to paper, though! LOL For the partial circle in the corner, I used the same black cardstock as for the background, but used the Swirls Cuttlebug folder on it giving the illusion of "waves". I used the pirate cupcake from the Trick or Sweet set from Taylored Expressions. I thought it would be cute to add some scruffiness (or jimmies) to the cupcake. For a finishing touch, I laced some black ribbon along the right edge of the card. Make sure you stop by to see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have come up with for this sketch. I'm SURE they'll all be fabulous! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Trick or Sweet (Taylored Expressions); Paper- Basic Black (SU), Pure Poppy (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific), gray (DCWV); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Whisper White Craft (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, black satin ribbon (May Arts), Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Swirls Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), paper piercer, white gel pen; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Pick of the Patch

One of the challenges at our last Prettie Pajama Party was to create a Halloween project. It could be a card, a scrapbook page or 3D item. I made a card and treat bag using the NEWLY RELEASED Pick of the Patch set from Paper Pretties. It's available for purchase today! I dug out some retired Stampin' Up papers for these. . .I still LOVE these papers! LOL I colored little pumpkin Cooper with Copic markers. The little treat bag is the same thing I made for Savannah's birthday treats for school. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Pick of the Patch (Paper Pretties); Paper- retired Halloween (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, brads (Making Memories), large oval punch, 1 1/4", 1 3/8" circle and scallop circle punches (SU), black satin ribbon (May Arts), Zig Zag embossed border punch (Martha Stewart); Finished card measures 3"x6"

A Dreamy Challenge

The Stamper's Dream Dream Team is excited to announce that they will be doing a Dreamy Challenge the second Thursday of every month. You can participate too! Just make a card with glitter on it, and link it to the comments section of Michelle's blog, and if you upload to Splitcoaststampers (we'd love to see it there too), just use keyword SDDC1. To make this challenge even sweeter, Michelle has some awesome Holiday goodies which she will be giving to a winner chosen by Random.org. This week we're working with a new product by Doodlebug that Michelle just started carrying!! Glitter is so popular right now, and so fun to use, so we're using the Doodlebug product called "Stick With It". It's two sheets of double-sided adhesive shapes. The one we're using is called "Fancy That" and it's full of swirls and sentiments. All you do is peel off the shape (making sure to keep the top protective strip in place) and lay the shape where you would like to feature it on your card or project. As soon as you have your design laid out, peel off the protective strip and apply your Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter, rubbing over it with your fingers to make sure it adheres well. Doodlebug has a fabulous line of Sugar Coating Glitter, with a variety of colors, that each of the Design Team members is using. For my card, I used one of the flourishe adhesives and a little flower (that's on the moon). I also ran the scalloped piece of cardstock through my Xyron and added glitter to that too.

A little tip: After you adhere your double sided adhesive to your project, before removing the protective tape, rub your embossing buddy over the paper. That will help to keep the excess glitter from sticking. After removing the tape and applying the glitter, flip the paper over and flick it with your finger a few times. That should also help to remove the glitter without it blowing up into your face. So, check out the Stamper's Dream DT's blogs to see the different ways this product can be used!!

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Danielle challenged us to make a card with some kind of fancy fold. I chose to make a Z fold card. I haven't made one of these in a while. I used the Falling For You set from Paper Pretties. I also tried to stick in some news toys that I've acquired lately. . .the Pumpkin Harvest Cuttlebug folder and the Marvy Uchida Maple Leaf punch. The leaf was awfully big for the image, so I thought maybe putting the sentiment on it would make it look not quite so big. LOL I hope Jodi likes it! Be sure and check out what the rest of the Prettie Girls have come up with for this challenge! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Falling For You (Paper Pretties); Paper- Bo Bunny Press, Really Rust, Kiwi Kiss (SU), mustard (The Paper Company), Dark Chocolate (PTI); Ink- Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copics, Maple Leaf punch (Marvy Uchida), Harvest Pumpkin Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain (SU); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Happy Mail!

I have received some great mail lately! This first one came from Catherine over at Inksomnia. I had commented on my blog that I LOVE to make Halloween cards, but rarely send them out. Catherine left a comment saying that I should start. . .so I started with Catherine, and I got this ADORABLE card in return! Don't you just LOVE those witchy legs? I just LOVE my card! Thank you, Catherine. Stop over at Catherine's blog to see more of her adorable creations!

The second card I received was from Dawn Lusk. This was a card that Dawn made for a CCEE challenge to make a card for me using a homemade charm. Isn't it just beautiful? Thank you, Dawn! I LOVE the warm, yummy colors!

Be Inspired #26

I just LOVE Beate's Inspiration picture for today. I love how the room has lots of white space with a splash of polka dots and stripes. How fun! I decided to use the polka dots. I used the Polka Dot Basics set from Papertrey Ink and stamped the polka dots in Whisper White Craft ink on Basic Black cardstock, and then embossed them with white embossing powder. The Cuddle In Snow image and the sentiment from the Crystalline set are both from Penny Black and you can find them at Stamper's Dream. Isn't that snow couple adorable? I just LOVE them! The image was colored using Copic markers. For more inspiration, check out what fabulous creations Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts have come up with for this challenge! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Cuddle in Snow, Crystalline clear set (Penny Black), Polka Dot Basics (PTI); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Basic Black, Red Riding Hood, Pacific Point (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, paper piercer, white embossing powder, red grosgrain, Stardust Stickles, white gel pen; Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

All Purple

This was for Jen's Meet the Verve Diva Challenge, to use purple as your main color! I LOVE purple, so this was an easy challenge for me. I know there are those of you who strongly dislike purple (LOL), and for today's post, I apologize! :) I used the Some Bunny and Beautiful You sets from Verve Stamps. I thought this sentiment would go well with the little bunny.

I can't believe it's Monday already. This weekend just flew by and I found it very hard to drag myself out of bed this morning. Maybe it's because it's colder now and staying under the covers is a lot more appealing than stepping out onto the cold floor! :) Can you tell I LOVE summer? I am not a fan of cold weather. . .at all. I'm just hoping to get myself moving soon this morning. . .I've got lots of laundry that's waiting to be put away. It's easier to do that BEFORE the kids are all up. I'm sure you all know what I mean! Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Some Bunny, Beautiful You (Verve Stamps); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Pocket Full of Posies Stack (DCWV), Plum Pudding (PTI), Summer Sunrise (PTI); Accessories- Swiss Dots ribbon in Plum Pudding (PTI), paper piercer, Elegant Eggplant marker (SU); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Howdy Partner!

Here's the thank you card I made for Savannah's birthday hoedown. Cowgirl Sophia from Paper Pretties was PERFECT! Remember how Savannah dressed for her party? I made the thank you pretty simple since I had a lot to make and wanted to get them out in a timely manner. Usually I have thank yous all ready to go BEFORE the event, but that didn't happen this time. :) I'm sending each person the picture they took with Savannah enclosed in the thank you so they can put it in the frame that they decorated at the party. Hopefully everyone will like them! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Cowgirl Sophia (Paper Pretties); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Regal Rose (SU); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- paper piercer, Regal Rose, Blush Blossom, Pretty in Pink markers (SU), duo satin ribbon (May Arts); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Beate Weekend Sketch #60

Another fun sketch from Beate! I decided to go very simple a plain today. I almost didn't add the brads, but at the last minute I decided the card needed a little something! :) I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set that I JUST got. . .can you believe that? I was probably the last person to get that set. I liked it as soon as I saw it, but it kept getting pushed onto my "next order" list, making room for sets I wanted more. I'm very happy I got it, though. I can see it will be a new favorite! :) Be sure and see what fabulous creations Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have posted today! Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Upsy Daisy (SU); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- black detail embossing powder (SU), brads (Making Memories); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Prettie Color Challenge

Here is a card I made for one of the challenges from our Prettie Pajama Party last night. The challenge was to use Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette (or similar colors). This is what I came up with. I watercolored the image with an Aquapainter. Have I mentioned how I forgot how much I love to watercolor? I really just love it. It's so much faster than regular coloring with markers! I used my oval Nestabilities for the focal image and the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder for the Kiwi Kiss piece. I love how the Cuttlebug folders can add so much to an otherwise plain piece of paper. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Simply Special, Made With Love (Paper Pretties); Paper- Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette (SU); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss (SU); Accessories- Aquapainter, Oval scallop and plain Nestabilities (Spellbinders), duo satin ribbon (May Arts), Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder (Provocraft); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Blue Christmas

I know it's not even Halloween yet and I'm using Christmas stamps, but I can't help it! LOL I haven't stamped with a Changito stamp in a long while, so I thought I'd ink up this little cutie! This is Cocoa Changito and Blue Christmas sentiment by Stampendous. You can find both of these as well as the paper and ribbon at Stamper's Dream. I watercolored the image with an Aquapainter, which is something else I haven't done in a while. I forgot how much I love to watercolor. It's quick, and you don't have to "get all the spots". :) Next time you need to finish your cards quick and they need some coloring. . .turn to watercolor. It's such a nice and easy fix! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Cocoa Changito, Blue Christmas (Stampendous); Paper- Homespun Collection (Memory Box), Night of Navy (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Bordering Blue (SU); Accessories- brads (Making Memories), ribbon (May Arts), paper piercer, corner rounder, ticket corner punch (SU), Aquapainter; Finished card measures 4.25" square

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jessie challenged us to find something that inspired us and create a card from that. I actually found a couple of things that I thought were adorable Christmas items. I just LOVE polka dots, so these two inspiration pieces are definitely something that you might find in my home. That hair bow would look adorable in Savannah's hair! About that stamp. . .that's the Stamp of the Month Club stamp for November from Paper Pretties, Trim the Tree Sophia! Isn't she adorable? If you have to have her NOW, sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club, otherwise, you'll have to wait until December. Make sure you stop and see what the rest of the Prettie Girls (in my sidebar) have been inspired to create today!

Don't forget that tonight is our Prettie Pajama Party starting at 8pmEST in the Paper Pretties' Forum! We'd LOVE to see you there. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamp- Trim the Tree Sophia (Paper Pretties); Paper- Christmas Glitter Stack (DCWV), Pure Poppy (PTI), Wild Wasabi (SU); Accessories- wide Real Red grosgrain (SU), Copic markers, Poinsetta Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), paper piercer, Liquid Pearls, Stardust Stickles; Finished card measures 4.25" square
