Today we'll be introducing Birds of a Feather, Birds & Branch Dies, Moka Taylor, Moka Justin,  and the Hello A la Carte stamp.  My projects today will use the Birds of a Feather set and the Moka Taylor set.

Birds of a Feather is a full-sized set containing 21 images and sentiments.  It was illustrated by
Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line.  This set can be used for clean and simple cards, cutesy cards or even more elegant cards.  There is a Birds & Brach Die Set that coordinates with this set and it makes even simpler and helps with dimension.

For my card, I stamped the branch in Burnt Umber ink.  The birds were stamped and then die cut and added to the "tree" with some foam dimensional tape.  The papers are from the Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky Collection from My Mind's Eye.  I used the Labels 18 Nestabilities for the sentiment panel.

My second card uses the Moka Taylor set.  Moka Taylor was designed and illustrated by
Nancy McKinney for the Moka Collection.  When Nancy first illustrated this set, it was Taylor's personal favorite, so Nancy named this image after her.

The papers are from the Happy Go Lucky Collection from American Crafts.  I paper pieced part of Taylor's dress and colored her in with Copic markers.  I die cut the flowers out of scraps of patterned paper and added a button and some twine to the center.

To see more creations using these sets and creations using the sets I haven't featured today, visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen!  Be sure and come back tomorrow for the RELEASE DAY!  Everything you've seen these past two days will be available for purchase tomorrow at 8am Pacific!  Hope to see you tomorrow!

Born To Be Wild

I was able to play along with the OCL Sketch Challenge from last week.  I used The Tribe stamp set for my card.  This is a fun stamp set.  I have no other images in my stamp collection like this set, and the sentiments are great for humorous cards.

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copic markers.  For the background I used Tim Holtz Brick Wall Texture Fade.  The plaid paper is from the Indian Summer Stack from DCWV.  If you're look for a challenge, come and join us over at the OCL Blog for one!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Today, we're introducing two new sets, four die sets and one impression plate!  The stamp sets are In the Clouds and Life is a Circus.  The die sets are Seeing Stars, Star Border, Blimps & Banners and Cloud Border and last, but not least, the Clouds Impression Plate

In the Clouds is a full sized set including 25 images and sentiments!  It was illustrated by Nancy McKinney
as part of the Whimsical Wishes line.  I just LOVE the adorable blimp images in the set!   The flags and banners in the set also work with the sentiments from It's a Banner Day 1 and It's a Banner Day 3

For my card, I created something simple using one of the blimp images with the Blimps & Banners Die Set and the Cloud Border Die.  I actually cut the cloud border twice and layered them to give some depth to the "skies".

My next project uses the Life is a Circus set.  It was illustrated by Doug Applegate for the Apple Doodle Ink line.  It includes 17 images and is perfect for kids and adults alike!

I created the border with the Seeing Stars Die Set and Star Border Die.  The papers are from the Splash Collection from Echo Park Papers.

Be sure to hop around and see what other members of the Baker's Dozen have created using today's featured products!  Hope to see you back here again tomorrow!

Congrats Grad

We've been attending lots of graduation parties recently, so I've had to replenish my stock of graduation cards.  I used the Bookworm set from Our Craft Lounge for this fun card.  I thought it would be perfect for younger graduates, like from 8th grade or even Kindergarten.

The image was colored using Copic markers.  I die cut the giant ricrac and added some stitching for a simple and easy card.  Hope you're having a great weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Bookworm (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Wild Wasabi (SU), Pure Poppy, True Black (PTI); Accessories- Copic markers, button, twine, Giant RicRac Die (MFT);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Today is the Papertrey June Blog Hop and this month's challenge was an inspiration photo.  I took the inspiration from the photo pretty literally with the gradient in color for the background and the layout of the photo.  The Kraft piece of cardstock was scored with my ScorBuddy to add some texture and interest.  I used the Tiny Tags set along with the Tiny Tags Die and some Rustic Cream Button Twine for the "hanging images".

The gradient background was created using sponges and Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss and New Leaf ink.  You can see more interpretations of the inspiration photo by visiting here.  Thanks for stopping by!

Viva la Verve Dream Big

It's Friday and there's a new Viva la Verve Sketch that's up!  This week's fun sketch is from Teresa!  I used the Dream Big set for my card.  I paired it up with some papers from the Summer Days Collection from Echo Park.

I stamped the flowers using the Rock 'n Roll Technique with Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest ink.  The centers of the flower are little glittery flower accents that I found at my local craft store.  I die cut a piece of white cardstock using the Vintage Oval Die and stamped the sentiment.  I also used the Vintage Oval Die to die cut the black cardstock, then cut the Vintage Oval in half and used it to "frame the flower piece.

As you know, there's always Verve prizes that you can win for playing along!  We'd love to see your creations!  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Friday!

TE Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Today is the June Blast From the Past Blog Hop at Taylored Expressions!  I always love this hop because it forces me to show some older TE sets some love.  This month's theme is Old Glory.  You can interpret the theme to be just the colors red, white and blue or even go patriotic with it.  I decided on a 4th of July card.  I used the A Year of Sweets 2 and used the Cuppie with fireworks image.  The sentiment is from the A Year of Sweet Sentiments set.  The papers are from the Old Glory Collection from We R Memory Keepers.

I stamped the image in Versamark onto the dotted cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I stamped the Cuppie image again in black and colored it using Copic markers, cut it out and mounted it with foam tape on top of the embossed image.  I also used the sketch created by Sankari for my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Enjoy the hop!

You Rule the Roost

Today's card uses Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #140.  I used the Green Acres set for my card along with papers from the Stella and Rose - Gertie Collection from My Mind's Eye.  I started by punching out five circles to make sure they would fit across the card.  Then I stamped the little chicks on the circles and colored them with Copic markers.  I stamped the rooster on a scrap piece of cardstock, colored him in and cut him out.  He is mounted with foam tape onto the last circle.

The sentiment was stamped and then die cut using the It's a Banner Day 3 Die.  I also used the outline stamp from the It's a Banner Day 3 set.  Come and play along with the sketch challenge!  It's a lot of fun and you could win a gift certificate to the TE store!!  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Happy Birthday, Arwen!!

Today, my little girl is 5!!  How did this happen so fast?  She's catching right up to her older sister!  We are having "the big" party for her this coming weekend.  She wanted a swim party with a mermaid theme, so here is the invitation I came up with for her party.

I used the Mermaid Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm.  I just ADORE this image.  I've had it forever and this is the first time it has seen ink!  I just love it, though, so it will see more ink soon!  :)  I created the waves with the Wave Border Die from Taylored Expressions.  The "party" sentiment and invitation information on the inside was stamped using a Studio G Clear Stamp set I bought at Michael's long ago.

Happy, happy birthday, Arwen!  We love you SO MUCH and can't believe how big you're getting!  We hope your birthday is an awesome day filled with fun and all things that celebrate how special you are!  We love you bunches and bunches and more bunches, Sweet Pea!!

Slow Down

Today I have a card using the A Day in Paradise set from Taylored Expressions.  I also used my newest Key Ingredients Kit that arrived at my door yesterday!  :)  The papers are from the Sweet Threads Collection from Basic Grey.

I started by stamping the chairs onto Choice Buttercream cardstock and coloring them in with Copic markers.  I stamped the umbrella twice, once on the focal piece and next on a piece of patterned paper so that I could paper piece the umbrella.  I die cut a piece of cardstock using the Bracket Frame Die and stamped the sentiment on it and sewed it on the card.  I also added a little stitching around the card.

Hope you're having a great weekend!  If you're looking for a challenge, why not give the latest Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge a try?  I hoping to get to it later today!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
