Hoppy Easter!

Today some of the Verve Divas are hopping and celebrating a new Easter set in the Verve Store!  It's called Hoppy Easter and it is available now!  It's an adorable little set that we hope you love as much as we do.

For my card, I used the new Viva la Verve Sketch from Amber along with some papers from the Hippity Hoppity Collection from We R Memory Keepers!  I colored the rabbit in with Copic markers and paper pieced his bow tie.  I added some stitching and some glittery brads to finish it off.

We hope you'll hop along with us!  You could win this very set just by leaving a comment as you hop along.  Next, you'll want to visit Amy and see what fabulous things she's done with this set!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Just Start

This week's Mojo Monday Sketch had a choice of either round or square.  I decided to go with the square.  I used a couple of sentiments from the Words of Wisdom set from Verve.  I just LOVE the sentiments in this set and I adore the fonts!  I stamped the main sentiment and then framed it by diecutting some red cardstock with the Rounded Scallop Frame Die

The papers are from the Happy Day Collection from Simple Stories.  I added the secondary sentiment to the card with foam adhesive and then tied a little bow with some Baker's twine.  The little gems were something I found in the dollar bin at Michael's a shopping trip.  I finished up the card with a stitching around the border.  Come play along with this week's Mojo Monday!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Words of Wisdom (Verve Stamps); Ink- Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger), Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado (PTI); Paper- Happy Day Collection (Simple Stories), Bazzill; Accessories- Rounded Scallop Frame Die (Verve Stamps), twine (Doodlebug);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Make It Monday - Computer Generated Sentiments

This week's Make It Monday Challenge is Computer Generated Sentiments on Die Cuts.  Such fun!  I decided to use the Enjoy the Ride set from Papertrey Ink.  I decided to create a sweet 16 birthday card for my cousin who will be 16 and able to drive soon.  :)  The first thing I did was print out her name onto cardstock using Microsoft Word and a font that kind of matched the fonts in the stamp set.  After I printed her name, I stamped the car so that her name would be on the license plate.  I just LOVE that the car can be personalized for her!  :)

I used the Enjoy the Ride Die to die cut the car.  I thought the whole idea I had would work well in "pop-up" format, so I used the Movers and Shakers: Poppers Die to create the "Happy" inside the card and on the card front.  I die cut the numbers with the  By the Numbers Die Collection.  The papers I used are Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss and Polka Dot Parade.  I colored some parts of the car in with Copic markers and added some Sweet Blush Swiss Dots Ribbon

Spring Is In the Air

Well, Spring HAS been in the air these last few weeks, but this week looks like a little more Winter is going to peek back in!  In any case, I couldn't help but create this cute little treat!  I used the Scallop Purse Favor Box from Taylored Expressions.  I created the little Spring scene with a few die sets. . .Tiptoe Through the Tulips Die Set, Cloud Duo Die, Grass Border Die and Sky's the Limit Die

The tag was stamped with the Totally Tags: Spring set and die cut with the Totally Tags Dies.  I colored the tag with Copic markers and added some Stardust Stickles and added pearl pen to the centers of the flowers.  I finished off the little purse with some ribbon, twine and a big button.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Hope

I just received my March Key Ingredients Kit the other day, so I thought I'd dig into it today and create something.  I used the Hope A la Carte from Taylored Expressions.  I stamped Hope twice. . .once onto cardstock and once onto patterned from the This & That Graceful Collection from Echo Park.  I paper pieced the letters and added a chipboard flower and brad from the March Key Ingredients Kit for the "O".  I added some faux stitching around the focal word.

The borders of the patterned paper were created using the Heart Border Die.  I added some Kiwi Pearl Pen to the spaces in the flower along with some Stardust Stickles.  Finally, I tied some ribbon around the card to finish it off.

I know you've heard me say it before, but if you love having coordinating products delivered right to your door and not have to think about matching patterned papers with embellishments and cardstock, you should really give the Key Ingredients Subscription a try!  I just love that I have some of the latest and greatest paper collections delivered to my door each month and I never get bored because there's always something different!  If you're interested, you can find all the details by following one of the links above.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Happy As Happy Gets

I needed to create a special birthday card and I wanted to use the adorable Feeling Froggy set from My Favorite Things.  Since I was using an MFT set, I thought I'd also participate in this week's Wednesday Stamp Club.  Having a sketch to start with makes creating so much easier sometimes, don't you think?

I stamped the adorable Pure Innocence girl and colored her with Copic markers.  The papers are from Doodlebug as well as the Ladybug Twine.  I thought this sentiment made for a great birthday card.  Hopefully the recipient will think so too!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Feeling Froggy (MFT); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Doodlebug, Bazzill;  Accessories- Ladybug Doodle Twine (Doodlebug), glitter dots, Copic markers;  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Holds Upon Happiness

Today I have a little card that isn't my usual style.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the frilly, girly and elegant things like the next girl, but I'm usually drawn to bright, happy colors and funky patterns.  Cute and whimsical images are what I usually love to create with.  So, I really surprised myself when I was drawn to the Simply Jane set from Papertrey Ink.  I chalked it up to the silhouette images since I LOVE silhouette images for those days when I just don't feel like coloring.  :)  All I know is that when I started to create this card, I really fell in love with this set and the coordinating dies

I started by diecutting my card base using the Catillion Frame Die from Memory Box.  I'm not sure that this die was meant to be a card base, but it worked wonderfully as a note card once it was scored and folded in half.  Next, I used the Parisian Lace Doily Die to create a doily out of some patterned paper from the Almanac Collection from Prima.  I LOVE how it hangs over the top of the card.  Next I die cut the frame with the frame die out of some peachy patterned paper from the same collection and then stamped the frame with the coordinating stamp in Classic Kraft ink.  I attached the frame to the doily with foam adhesive and then I die cut the silhouette out of True Black cardstock.  I stamped both necklaces from the set in Vintage Cream ink onto the neck.  I die cut the flower out of the same peachy patterned paper and then stamped the flower using Canyon Clay and Spring Moss ink and adhered it to the silhouette with foam adhesive.  The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Black ink onto the card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Simply Jane (Papertrey Ink); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Vintage Cream, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss, Classic Kraft (PTI); Paper- Almanac Collection (Prima); Accessories- Simply Jane Die Set, Parisian Lace Doily Die (PTI), Catillion Frame Die (Memory Box);  Finished card measures 5"X4.75"

Friends are Flowers

Happy Monday!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  Today I have a card that uses Deconstructed Sketch No. 43.  I used the Tiptoe Through the Tulips Dies for the focal point of my card and a sentiment from the Spring Tulips set from Taylored Expressions.  The papers are from the Country Drive Collection from Echo Park.

I couldn't fit the sentiment in a circle, so I had to change that shape on the sketch to a rectangle.  I added some stitching around the border of the card and then used some black thread for a couple of zig zag stitched spots.  I drew a border around the tulips with a ruler and black pen.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a GREAT day!

Make It Monday - Graduated Backgrounds

This week's Make It Monday Challenge is Graduated Backgrounds.  I decided to use the Copic marker version of this technique and a die.  First, I colored a piece of cardstock with two Copic markers from the Berry Sorbet Collection on a diagonal.  Then I die cut the colored cardstock with the Loopsy-Daisy Die to create my flower.  For the leaves, I used the Bloom Builders #2 Die.  I added a button with some Rustic Jute Button Twine tied in a bow to the center of the flower.

Next, I die cut a piece of True Black cardstock with the Spiral Notebook Page Die and adhered it to the card base.  I stamped a sentiment from the Handwritten Notes set in Fresh Snow ink onto the black cardstock.  As finishing touches, I added some stitching to the top right edge of the notebook page and score lines on the top and bottom of the card.  You can find other entries to this month's challenge here.  Thanks for stopping by!

VLV Shamrocks

It's Friday and time for a new Viva la Verve Sketch!  This week's sketch is by Maureen.  Being tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day AND Maureen's birthday (Happy Birthday, Maureen!), I had to make a card with an Irish feel.  :)

I used the Lucky You set from Verve along with the frame stamp from Love Notes.  The frame was die cut using the coordinating Classy Label Die.  The shamrock was die cut with the Shamrock Die Set and then stamped with the coordinating stamp.  I covered a button in Gold Glitz Stickles to add to the center of the shamrock.  I die cut a scalloped circle with the Scallop Circle Nestabilities to mat the sentiment panel.

We hope you'll play along with this week's Viva la Verve sketch!  We always love to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Lucky You, Love Notes (Verve Stamps); Ink- Classic Craft, New Leaf (PTI), Onxy Black (Versafine); Paper- Abbey Road Whirlybird Collection (My Mind's Eye); Accessories- Classy Label Die, Shamrock Die Set (Verve Stamps), button, Gold Glitz Stickles, Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Make It Monday - Colored Kissing

I was able to play along in this week's Make It Monday - Colored Kissing challenge at Papertrey Ink.  I decided to use the Blooming Button Bits set along with the Bitty Background Blocks for my card.  First, I inked up the flowers in Summer Sunrise ink.  Then I used a different background for each flower and inked them in Canyon Clay ink.

I stamped some large dots from the Polka Dot Basics set onto the Harvest Gold card base in Versamark ink.  I added some Rustic Cream Button Twine to the buttons as well as tying it around the card.  You can see other answers to the challenge here.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Blooming Button Bits, Bitty Background Blocks, Polka Dot Basics (PTI); Ink- Summer Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Spring Moss (PTI);  Paper- Harvest Gold, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss (PTI); Accessories- Rustic Cream Button Twine, buttons (PTI);  corner rounder;  Finished card measures 4.25"X5.5"

Happy Birthday!

Today I have a card that uses the latest Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.  I used the Embrace Beauty set for my card.  Instead of just inking up the stamp as I normally would, I decided to use some Distress Stains to give the image a watercolored look.  I definitely like the way the soft watercolored look really makes the sentiment stand out.  If I had just stamped the image with ink, I don't think I could have stamped the sentiment over top unless I used a very light ink.  I love how this gives it a multi-colored image rather than one solid color.  I cut around the image and then matted it to a dark brown piece of cardstock die cut with the Plain Circle Nestabilities

I used papers from the Lost & Found Rosy Collection by My Mind's Eye.  I created the pearls with the Bronze Pearl Pen.  I LOVE how they look!  :)  I added some Stardust Stickles to the dragonfly, some matching ribbon and finished the card off with some stitching.  Come play along with this week's sketch challenge!  You can find all of details on Taylor's BlogSUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Embrace Beauty (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Distress Stains (Ranger);  Paper- Lost & Found Rosy Collection (My Mind's Eye);  Accessories- Plain Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Stardust Stickles, Bronze Pearl Pen (Viva), ribbon;  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

VLV What's Shaking?

It's Friday and time for a new Viva la Verve Sketch!  This week I'm hosting the challenge, so I hope you'll play along!  I LOVE to see what you create!  I used the Bunny Shake set for my card.  I think this little bunny is super cute!  I paired the image with some papers from the Hippity Hoppity Collection from We R Memory Keepers.

I stamped the image and highlighted the bunny with a pale blue Copic marker.  I die cut the image with Plain Circle Nestabilities.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece die cut with the Charming Banner Die Set.  To finish the card off, I added some ribbon and stitching.
