VLV Shine Brightly

As many of you know, every Friday there's a new Viva la Verve that goes up!  I am hosting the sketch this week and it's a pretty clean & simple sketch.  Of course, you can make it anything you want, but I stuck with the clean & simple for my card.

I used the Shining Star set and the Scalloped Trim Trio. I colored the outside of the star with a marker and then filled the center in using Stardust Stickles.  It gives a nice sparkle to the star.  I also added some sequins from the Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

We'd LOVE for you to play along with the sketch!  Head on over to the Viva la Verve Blog for all the details!  Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

Verve August Release Retrospective Blog Hop

Welcome to Verve's August Release Retrospective Blog Hop! The Verve Divas are hopping today and serving up some more inspiration using the August release stamps & dies! Besides a peek at some really cool cards, there are also a couple of prizes up for grabs!  If you arrived from Amber's Blog, you're in the right place!

For my card today, I'm using the Coffee set along with the Cuppa Joe Die Set as well as the Coffee Word Die.   I created the background using the Coffee Word Die. .  I embossed the die on white cardstock using tan embossing mats.  Once I embossed it, I brayered Early Espresso ink all over the cardstock.  The ink covered everything except the word that was embossed into the paper. I LOVE the effect it gives!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Next on the hop is Marisa!!

All the details and the linkup widget are on the Verve Blog today. The deadline is October 3, so there's still plenty of time to get the August release if you haven't already.

Taylored Expressions RELEASE DAY: In & Out Birthday

It's RELEASE DAY at Taylored Expressions!  Everything we've been sharing with you this week is NOW AVAILABLE in the TE Store!  I have two more projects to share with you today before you shop!  ;)  The first uses the In & Out Birthday set.

In & Out Birthday is sentiment set designed to have a sentiment on the front of the card as well as the inside!  For this card, I started with the Up Up & Away Cutting Plate and die cut it out of patterned paper from the Double the Fun Paper Pack.  Then I die cut the balloons out of Cherry Pop, Cookie Monster, Pumpkin and Candy Corn cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed in white.  The Peapod panel was embossed using the ZigZag Embossing Folder

I stamped another sentiment on the inside of the card and added some Double the Fun Matching Sequins Boy around the sentiment.

The second project I have for you today is for the sketch challenge TE has going on!

For your chance to win a $250 Gift Certificate to the Taylored Expressions Store, you must complete ALL of the following:

Complete all steps by 11:59 pm PST on Sunday, September 14, 2014. One winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries. Limit one entry per person.

Okay, so I made a Halloween card using this sketch!   The papers are from the Hocus Pocus Paper Pack.  I used the Full Moon set for this card along with the Little Bits: Ghosts dies and the Spooky Trees Accessories Dies.

After I colored the image, I covered the piece in Stardust Stickles to give it a sparkly glow.  And the last part of the challenge, to take a selfie with my card!  :)

Thanks for visiting, crafty friends! If you'd like to see more projects and new product information, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete blog roll of our participating designers!

Taylored Expressions September Sneak Peeks: Sack It Bat and Think Happy Thoughts

Taylored Expressions is 6 years old!!  Welcome to Day 3 of our sneak peeks!  To celebrate, along with new stamps and dies, we are releasing our very own line of patterned paper and coordinating cardstock, as well as our own Embossing Folders!!!  How exciting is that?  You can also visit the TE Blog for a fun sketch challenge with a $250 prize gift certificate!!

Today I have two projects for you and the first one features the Sack It: Bat die!  I don't know about you, but I love the whole Sack It Collection at TE!!  I love being able to create adorable little 3D gifts bags for every occasion!  Sack It: Bat is one of three Halloween themed additions to that line that TE is releasing this month!

I started by diecutting the sack itself out of Oreo cardstock using the Sack It To You Die.   Then I die cut the bat pieces out of Oreo, Peapod, Sugar Cube and  Cherry Pop cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Little Bits of Halloween set.

The second project I have for you today uses the Think Happy Thoughts Incentive set. To celebrate our 6th year, we've designed a special party favor, Think Happy Thoughts. This petite stamp set includes a very "happy" coordinating die and will be FREE with orders over $50 beginning on September 11th - September 21st. One free set per customer, while supplies last.

I just LOVE this little set and I LOVE that "happy" die that comes with it!   I started by using the Up Up & Away Cutting Plate.  I die cut the cutting plate out of Oreo cardstock.  The neat thing about this cutting plate is it comes with two extra dies. . .one of each size of balloon so you can die cut separate balloons to go over top of what you cut the "base" out of!  I used various patterned papers from the Double the Fun Paper Pack and as well as some Pumpkin cardstock.  "Happy" is die cut out of Peapod cardstock.

Thanks for visiting, crafty friends! If you'd like to see more projects and new product information, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete blog roll of our participating designers!
