From the Desk Of

I love creating cards where the majority of embellishment is from die cuts.  I don't know why, but die cut flowers or images just make me smile.  Maybe it's because I feel like they don't add a lot of bulk to the card.  Anyway, I created this card using the From the Desk Of Die Set from Taylored Expressions.

I also used the coordinating stamp set, Office Ephemera, for the sentiment and the pencil image.  Rather than die cut each each out of a different color cardstock, I die cut them all out of white cardstock and then colored them with a marker.  I added a piece of washi tape across the bottom of the card to finish it. . .and there you have it!

There are LOTS of die sets in the TE Store that would make great additions to any card!  I hope you've been inspired today to use some dies on your cards!  Thanks for stopping by!

TE/Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Today I am participating in a blog hop with some friends from Perfect Paper Crafting. This company offers a lot of nifty tools and today I am showing a project I created with their Perfect Layers Mini tool. I used the Smarty Pants stamp set from Taylored Expressions along with the coordinating Smarty Pants Die Set.  I cut the layers of black using both the 1/8" side and the 1/16" side of the Perfect Layers Mini tool.  It was very simple and so convenient!  I really noticed the difference when I used it on the matte of the sentiment.  The spacing around all sides is perfect!

Another product from Perfect Paper Crafting that I used was the Perfect Airbrush Tool!  I put a green marker in the holder and spritzed away on the green cardstock.  I LOVE the look it gave!

Roxie Glaza from the Perfect Paper Crafting Team is also posting a project today!  Be sure to head on over and see what fabulous project she has for you!

How fun to be able to embellish a page or a card with the ball or accessory that coordinates with a particular sport!!  For my card, I also used the NEW All-Star Accents set.  I created a background piece using stars in the stamp set.  The sentiment and "bounce" lines are also part of the set.  I can definitely see myself using this set A LOT!!

Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks: Made in the Shade 2 and Little Bits Picnic - Kite

Welcome back for Day 2 of sneak peeks at Taylored Expressions!  Do you like the products you've been seeing so far?  I have sure enjoyed creating with them!  Today I have two projects for you.  The first uses the NEW Made in the Shade 2 set.  Made in the Shade 2 coordinates with the previously released Shade Tree Cutting Plate.  I did not use the cutting plate, though, for my creation.

I used the scarecrow image from the set and used the NEW Apple Stacklets that you saw yesterday, to create a "pumpkin" shaped card.  I stamped the image and colored it using Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed in white.

My second project uses the NEW Little Bits Picnic - Kite Die.  I have been loving the Little Bits line of dies in the TE store!  They are perfect little additions to add to your creations. I made a set of three little notecards using the Scalloped Notecard Die.  I thought they would be great little tags to add to birthday gifts or even to stick in a bouquet of flowers!

Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks: In Other Words - Read and Apple Stacklets

Welcome to August Sneak Peeks for Taylored Expressions!  We have lots of new and exciting products to show you this week, so I hope you'll come back each day!  I have two projects for you today.  The first one uses the NEW In Other Words-Read set.  In Other Words - Read coordinates with the Mark Your Spot Bookmark Die

There are images and sentiments that are perfect for readers.  My kids just LOVE bookmarks, so everytime I make new ones, they each want one.  I stamped and colored the image on the bookmarks, and then I layered the text in different colors for something a little different.

The second project I have today uses the NEW Apple Stacklets and the Apple Stem & Seeds Dies.  I just LOVE these!  I have visions of adorable "apple" brag books using these dies!  :)  For this card, I used the largest apple die along with a smaller one to give the look of "the inside" of the apple where the seeds are.

The papers are from the We Are Family Collection from Echo Park.  The sentiment is from another new set called Mischief Maker - Back to School.  You can visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen to get a peek at that set!  ;)  The stem and leaf are one piece, but I die cut it once out of green and once out of brown and pieced it together to make it two different colors.

Felt Thanks

I don't use felt nearly enough in my projects.  I don't know why. . .I guess I never really think about it.  I do love it, though!  I created this card using some of the new, yummy colors available at Taylored Expressions!!

The background was created using Carrot Felt along with the Lattice Cutting Plate.  The leaves were created using the Leafy Branch Die with Split Pea Felt.  The flowers use the Friendship Blooms Dies with Marshmallow Felt and some Birthday Boy Dots.  The greeting was created using the Band It Die with Caribbean Felt and the sentiment from the Shades of Thanks Die with Marshmallow Felt

I just LOVE the texture that felt gives a card.  You can't help but touch it!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
