Destined for Greatness

I actually got to do a Super Sketch Sunday on a Sunday! I'll tell ya, Amy is REALLY exercising my patterned paper skills! It's funny, but when I first started this blog, I rarely used patterned papers. Through doing challenges on Splitcoast and challenges from fellow bloggers, I began to use patterned papers more and more. Now I rarely make a card without patterned paper! Having said that, I usually only use one, maybe two patterned papers on a card. Amy's challenge this week was to use FOUR patterned papers. Yes, FOUR! She said the blocking didn't have to be exactly the same since she just used scraps and cut them to fit. I used scraps too and cut them to fit and it actually worked to be the same blocking pattern. . . .I just flipped the sketch. I love using up scraps. . .I have tons of them! The patterned paper is all from the Urban Window Collection by We R Memory Keepers. The star piercings were made using the Punches Plus Classy Brass Template from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from the Great Expectations set by Verve Visual. There's a Star-Studded Sale going on at Verve Visual from now until May 15! If you love stars, this sale is for you! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Great Expectations (Verve Visual); Paper- Urban Window Collection (We R Memory Keepers), Whisper White, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip (SU); Ink- Chocolate Chip (SU); Accessories- Punches Plus Brass Template, Chocolate Chip marker, paper piercer, large Star punch (SU); hemp, Stardust Stickles.

Off to School

Isn't she CUTE? This is an upcoming release over at Paper Pretties. . .Off To School Sophia. She is part of the "news" over at Paper Pretties. If you haven't checked it out, you can read all of the details here. I used Amy's Super Sketch Sunday sketch for this card. Amy's only other stipulation is that you use 3 different patterned papers. She makes this look so easy, but I really have to think about it. LOL All of the papers are from the Baby Girl Nana's Nursery Stack from Die Cut With a View. I'm rushing out the door, but I'm hoping to get some stamping done later today. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Off to School Sophia (Paper Pretties); Paper- Nana's Nursery Stack (DCWV), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Stampin' Up markers, double stitched ribbon in Wild Wasabi (SU)

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jana challenged us to create something with polka dots. It didn't matter how you used them. . .paper, ribbon, stamping, just use polka dots. So here is what I came up with. I used Amy's Super Sketch Sunday sketch for the card. (yay, she brought it back!) Her only stipulation with the sketch is that you use 3 different patterns of paper. I thought it would be fun to combine the two challenges. The striped pattern breaks up all the polka dots a little. The doggie is from Rainy Day Friends. I thought it would be cute to make him the focal point of a card. This card is on it's way to Jessie, so I hope she likes it! Have you played along with our Prettie Girl Challenges? If so, I'd love for you to post a link here so I can see your creation!

Have you been over to the new Paper Pretties website? You can create your own gallery now! There are lots of things in the forums and you can check all of that out on the home page. For those of you who are challenge lovers, Danielle posts a challenge in the forums every week! They are lots of fun, so please check them out!

Today on the Verve Visual blog, there's a sneak peek of one of the sets that is being released on Friday! Tomorrow will be a sneak peek of the other! Also, if you've been waiting for Anniversary Birds or Thankful Blossoms, they are now available for preorder at the store! They have an expected ship date of Monday, April 28. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Rainy Day Friends (Paper Pretties); Paper- Prints Designer Series (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- polka dot ribbon (May Arts), Bashful Blue, Regal Rose markers (SU), Copic markers, white gel pen, paper piercer.
