I'll Walk With You

Here is a card I made for this week's Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink, Line Frame 101.  I love using hand drawn frames to add some pizzaz to a clean and simple card.  I used the Love Lives Here set.  I highlighted the sentiment within the frame and used the home image as part of the frame rather than highlighting the image within in the frame.

I stamped the sentiment and then stamped the home image in Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush and Crumb Cake ink.  I drew the frame around the sentiment leaving an opening for the home.  I adhered the focal piece to a Sweet Blush card base.  As a finishing touch, I added a little stitching along the bottom of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Love Lives Here (Papertrey Ink); Ink- Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush (PTI), Onyx Black (Versamark), Crumb Cake (SU); Paper- Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink);  Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Treasure Life

Today's card uses the Treasure Life set from Taylored Expressions along with papers and embellishments from my latest Key Ingredients Subscription!  The paper is from the Kitch Collection by Girl's Paperie.  This card is also a different look from my norm.  I like it, though.  It's still not heavily embellished, but it has more layers than I would normally use.  :)

I stamped the apothecary jars onto patterned paper and plain white cardstock.  I die cut the patterned paper jars using the Apothecary Jars Die set.  Then I cut the lids out of the white cardstock and paper pieced them onto the patterned paper jars.  I mounted the jars onto a piece die cut with the From the Heart Frame Die.  I sponged that piece and the other pieces of patterned paper to give it an aged looked.  Finally, I added some stitching and the pearls.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Treasure Life (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Summer Sunrise (PTI), Blue Bayou (SU); Paper- Kitch Collection (Girl's Paperie), Bazzill;  Accessories- pearls from Key Ingredients Kit (TE), From the Heart Frame Die, Apothecary Jar Dies (Taylored Expressions);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Verve April Diva Dare

In case you've missed it, the April Diva Dare has started on the Verve Blog.  Today is my day to post.  This month's theme is April Showers Bring May Flowers.  I don't know about you, but I am ready for the rain to stop.  Don't get me wrong, I like rain, I really do. . .but I don't like torrential downpours.  Especially when I have to push two kids in a stroller to pick my oldest up from school!  LOL

My answer to this month's dare resembles the fresh and clean Spring I can't wait for!  No more mud. . .no more dull grass and barren trees.  Clean, fresh air and pops of color from the beautiful flowers that appear.  :)  I used the Bloom & Grow set and layered different colors for each of the flowers.  Then I die cut the flowers using the Floral Circles Die Set.  I added some glitter and rhinestones to the flowers to make them glisten.  The leaves were stamped and die cut using the Elegant Leaves Die.  After arranging the flowers on the focal piece, I stamped the sentiment and then drew a border with a pen and ruler.  The card base is embossing with the Dots Embossing Folder by Darice.

Be sure to head on over to the Verve Blog to see what the rest of the Divas have created so far and for your chance to win some Verve!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Bloom & Grow (Verve Stamps); Ink- Onyx Black (Tsukineko), Groovy Guava, Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake (SU), Wheat (VersaMagic); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), True Black (PTI); Accessories- glitter (SU), rhinestones (Kaisercraft), Floral Circle Die Set, Elegant Leaves Die (Verve Stamps), Dots Embossing folder (Darice);  Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

A Little Pampering

Today I have a little card for you using the Pretty & Pampered set from Our Craft Lounge.  I used the candle and table image from the set.  They are separate images, so you can put other things on the table.

I used some old favorite papers from the Baby Girl Nursery Stack by DCWV.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment was stamped in white craft ink.  Hope you're having a wonderful day today!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Pretty & Pampered (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Fresh Snow (PTI), Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Baby Girl Nursery Stack (DCWV);  Accessories- Copic markers, circle punch (SU), Rosette Cut Up (The Cat's Pajamas), button (PTI);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

I really didn't think I was going to be able to play along today.  We had lots of running around to do and a couple of doctor's appointments today with the kids being off school BUT. . .I was able to create a quick little card to go with this month's theme of the men in our lives for PTI's April Blog Hop.  Isaac will be starting preschool in the Fall.  I can't believe my little man is old enough to start school already.  I made each of my girls special cards on their first days of preschool, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to make one for Isaac.

I used the new Boys Basics: Truckin' It set and coordinating die.  The zig zag pattern on the left of the card was creating using the Background Basics: Chevron Stripes set.  I stamped the stripes in primary boy colors using Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise and New Leaf.  I die cut the bus, then stamped and colored it using Copic markers.  I used a strip of True Black cardstock to create the "road".  You can see the rest of the participants' creations HERE.  Thanks for stopping by!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Boys Basics: Truckin' It, Background Basics: Chevron Stripes (PTI); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf (PTI); Paper- white, True Black (PTI); Accessories:  Truckin' It Die (PTI), white gel pen, Copic markers;  Finished card measures 3.75"x4.5"

Love

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We did.  It ended up that we hosted Easter at our house, which is a first for us.  Usually we're running from one side of the family to the other, but since "the usual" plans had changed on both sides, everyone ended up coming to our house.  It was actually nice to not have to pack the kids up a number of times. . .and give them just enough time in the car to fall asleep only to wake them up!  LOL

Once I got all my clean up finished and kids to bed, I was able to participate in last week's Make It Monday Challenge, Embossing With Dies.  I used the Beautiful Blooms II #3 Collection to emboss the flowers onto white cardstock.  Then I used the Beautiful Blooms II stamp set to stamp the coordinating flowers inside the embossed flowers in Pure Poppy ink.  I added some buttons to the centers and distressed the edges of the cardstock with my scissors before matting it with True Black cardstock and adhering it to the card front.  The sentiment is from the Mega Mixed Messages set

Thanks for stopping by!  Oh, and I've decided to part with some of my PTI sets that are collecting dust.  I still love them, but I have limited space and have to make room.  A lot of them were barely even used.  If you're interested, you can find the list HERE.  Thanks again and have a great night!

The Future Belongs. . .

I was able to play along with the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge today and created this card using the Dream Big set.  Even though the set is geared toward "graduation", I used a sentiment that could make it for an occasion other than graduation.

The papers are from the Hello Luscious Card Kit.  I used the Large Scallop Border Die for the scallops on the left side of the card.  I also used a Fairytale Rose along with lots of stitching.

To play along with the sketch challenge, follow the link above. . .or just follow it to check out all of the other creations using the sketch!  Thanks for stopping by today!

So Happy For You

Today I have a super clean and simple card using one of the newest Verve releases, Hope Blooms.  I stamped the flowers overlapping in Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores and Berry Sorbet ink.  The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Black Versafine.  I added some strips of ScorTape and poured glitter over it for some sparkle.

This is definitely a quick card to make and easy to mail. . .no bulk.  I also wanted to let you know that there's an Easter Sale going on at Verve!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Easter weekend!

TE Blast From the Past Blog Hop

It's time again for the Blast From the Past Blog Hop at Taylored Expressions!  This month's theme is a favorite for me. . .Clean and Simple!  For my card, I used the Discover Your Wings set along with the Take Note 3 Die

I die cut on a scrap piece of paper and then attached that paper to the paper I actually wanted to stamp on to form a mask.  I sponged a background using Angel Pink, Cantaloupe and Bamboo Leaves ink.  Then I stamped the flower image.  After all of the stamping and sponging was finished, I removed the mask and stamped my sentiment.  I trimmed the focal piece and "roughed up" the edges a bit with my scissors to create a distinction between the focal piece and card base since they were both the same color.  I mounted the focal piece onto the card base with foam tape.  I also die cut a tiny butterfly out of vellum using the Butterflies Die set and added some Stardust Stickles for some sparkle!

You can see more Clean and Simple goodness by visiting the rest of the participants of the hop!  Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

Taylored Expressions Special Release

Taylored Expressions is bursting at the seams with so much sweet new rubber that we couldn't fit it all in the regular monthly release!  We are excited to bring you a one-time mid-month release of 3 new stamp sets - Labels of Love, You're My Type - Upper and You're My Type - Lower.  As if that weren't exciting enough, these new sets are designed to coordinate with Spellbinders dies! Everything we are showing you is available TODAY!!!

We also want to take this opportunity to express a huge thank you to Spellbinders who generously provided our team members with Grand Calibur die cutting machines!  I couldn't believe it when I got mine and I really love using it for cutting multiple dies at once, Grand Nestabilities and Impression Plates!

The first project I have to show you uses the You're My Type - Upper along with the Nested Pennant Dies and Grand Labels One Nestabilities.  I created a framed name pennant for my son, Isaac.  I used papers from the Lil Man Collection by Cosmo Cricket.  I started by punching circles out of Choice Buttercream cardstock and stamping the letters in Isaac's name.  Next I die cut the little banners using one of the small dies in the Nested Pennant set and attached the letters to each banner with foam adhesive.

Using my Grand Calibur made this next part SUPER easy.  I was able to die cut the Grand Labels One AND the large pennant at once!  The plates go through the machine very smoothly.  I didn't use one in this project, but I LOVE to use Impression Plates in my Grand Calibur because it gives me a deeper impression than when I use my Cuttlebug. . .and I don't snap my plate with thicker cardstock like I have with my Cuttlebug.

Finally, I assembled all of the pieces of my framed art and added some hemp for the banner to "hang" from and some ricrac along the bottom.

My second project today uses the Labels of Love set along with the coordinating Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3.  I used papers from the Modern Homemaker Collection by October Afternoon for my card.

The Labels of Love set is a full sized stamp set consisting of 31 images (7 frames, 6 flourishes and 18 sentiments).  For my card, I also used the Friendship Blooms Dies to create the flower along with the Leafy Branch Die.  The scalloped border along the bottom was created using the Medium Scallop Border Die

Remember, you don't even have to wait for these items to be released!  They are available NOW!

Special Offer to Celebrate the first ever TE Mid-Month Release:
Both the NEW Nested Pennants and the NEW Lacey Pennants are 30% off at the TE Store while supplies last!  Regular price $19.99, sale price only $13.99

There is also a Labels of Love Bundle available!
