Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jodi challenged the Prettie Girls to create a card using our favorite embellishment. Since I usually create pretty simple, not heavily embellished cards, my favorite embellishments are probably ribbon and scoring/embossing or paper piercing. I used all three on this card since I just couldn't decide! :) I thought the scoring went well with the basket in the image.

This is actually a sneak peek of one of the new sets being released by Paper Pretties on Saturday, August 1st!! It's called Everyday Picnic. We hope you'll join us for the release party! I'll have more info for you tomorrow!

In the meantime, stop and see what the rest of Prettie Girls created for Jodi's challenge!

Miracles

Here's a card I made using the July 20th Key Ingredients and the Faith and Hope stamp set from Taylored Expressions. The scalloped oval chipboard is part of the July 20th Key Ingredients. I inked it up with Tea Leaves VersaMagic ink and framed the sentiment. As a finishing touch, I added some faux stitching along the sides of the card.

We've Moved!

It's been a while since I've made a long card. I used to make them a lot more, but I've gotten away from that for some reason. Anyway, I decided to use the Home Sweet Home set from Paper Pretties. As much as I don't like moving personally, I chose to use happy, bright colors rather than colors that show how I really feel about moving! LOL

Taylored Expressions July 20th Key Ingredients

Now available at Taylored Expressions is the July 20th Key Ingredients Kit! Taylor issued a challenge to half of the Baker's Dozen to use the key ingredients to create a Home Decor item or something you could give as a housewarming gift. Since I've started fulfilling my husband's request of creating framed scrapbook pages to hang on the walls of the entryway in our home, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to add to our collection!

I used a picture from our family vacation last year to Cape Cod for this framed page. The Key Ingredients Kits also comes with chipboard elements and a bottle of Lemon Yellow Liquid Pearls. I used the Liquid Pearls to cover the "sun" part of the chipboard. I stamped the sentiment from the Beach Bum set onto Choice Buttercream cardstock (included in the key ingredients) and punched out the sentiment and attached it to the chipboard circle that fits into the center of the "sun". As far as the photo, I used the Antique photo option on my printer to get just a hint of color so I wouldn't have to worry about the colors in the photo not matching the colors of the patterned paper and cardstock.

I'm excited to see what the other girls created for this challenge, hope you are too! :

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Beach Bum (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- July 20th Key Ingredients Kit (Taylored Expressions); Accessories- chipboard and Liquid Pearls from July 2oth Key Ingredients Kit (Taylored Expressions), circle punch (SU), paper piercer.

A Few More Pics

I promised I would share some more pictures of Isabelle and her brother and sisters. This is the first I've been able to get to the computer and put a post together!

The kids came to the hospital to see their new little sister and they just LOVED her. Even now, they fight over who's going to hold her next and I'm always chasing them away from the crib when she's sleeping.

Isabelle has two more mommies in her big sisters. They love to put her blanket back on her when she kicks it off and go running with her every cry.

Big brother Isaac is ready to share his toys with her. I have to watch him around the crib because he'll just chuck toys in at her. . .not to hurt her or hit her, but so she can play with them! LOL He's so sweet with her. This picture of him and his little sister just broke my heart. When he first saw her, he just put his cheek up against her and smiled. He still does that and it makes my heart melt each time.
It's taking us some time to adjust (well, me really) since I can't quite move around like I'm used to yet, but things are getting easier every day. Today is Isabelle's first doctor's appointment so I'm anxious to see how she's grown already! Thank you for all the well wishes and congratulations! It was so nice to read all of your comments. . .it was nice to have all my friends checking in on me! :)

For Sale

Here's a quick little card I made using the Home Sweet Home set from Paper Pretties. I know it uses a "for sale" sign that you would normally associate with selling a home, but I thought I could use a little card like this to announce a craft garage sale I hope to have real soon! LOL I have so many stamp sets and paper that I've bought over the years that are collecting dust since newer stuff has found it's way home with me. :) I just need to get organized enough to sort through everything and get it ready to go! Anyway, I thought sending a card like this to local stamping friends would be a great way to let them know about the sale when it happens!

Don't forget that today Danielle's Weekly Challenge is posted! If you're looking for a challenge to get you stamping today, head on over to her blog! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! TE Christmas in July Blog Hop

It's Christmas in July at Taylored Expressions and today, members of the Baker's Dozen are featuring Christmas creations or gifts for Christmas that incorporate the rectangular Perfect Packages! The rectangular Perfect Packages are sized perfectly for standard A2-sized card and envelope sets! What's even better is that they fold flat for easy storage until you're ready to use them! I just LOVE them!

For my project today, I almost made a card set with matching envelopes, but I decided to create a homemade holiday gift instead. . . and two versions of that. :) I used the Home Sweet Home set for the outside of the box and a sentiment from the Season's Sweetings set for the inside of the box. I thought this sentiment would be PERFECT for the gift! I also used the Polka Dot Frame Spellbinders set for the frame on the front of the box and Labels Four Nestabilities for the inside.

For the "first version" I made mini cupcakes decorated for Christmas and inserted them into a tray that I made to fit the bottom of the box and the cupcakes. These cupcakes are really simple to make and go further since you can fit half a dozen in each box.

The "second version" is a little more time-consuming. A little while ago, my sweet friend and fellow Baker's Dozen team member, Donna, made these Cupcake Bites that I thought were ADORABLE! I HAD to use them for this project. They are absolutely delicious and really impress people! All of the dipping and freezing takes extra time, but they are definitely worth it for your candy-loving friends! I put a piece of wax paper in the bottom of the box and then added the Christmas-decorated Cupcake Bites.

Both versions make a great Christmas gift, especially wrapped up in this Perfect Package! Be sure to check out what other members of the Baker's Dozen have created for the Christmas in July Blog Hop. . .I know they'll have awesome ideas to share with you!

Happy Day, Happy Mail!

I can't believe another year has flown by and it's my birthday again! LOL I wanted to share with you some Happy Mail I received earlier this week.

I received this absolutely GORGEOUS card from Donna Baker. I have never seen a more beautiful card. Fuzzy Bear

It's July 1st and time for a Flower Soft Design Team Challenge. This month Jennifer challenged us to think outside the box. I decided that I would use Flower Soft to create a fuzzy bear. I used one of the newest products that Flower Soft is releasing, Polar White Flower Soft (available for purchase July 24th). It's just beautiful! It has an irridescent quality to it! It is absolutely gorgeous as snow, but it works very well with a stuffed bear too!

For more out of the box ideas, please visit the rest of the design team to see their wonderful creations!

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, I challenged the Prettie Girls to create a card using a masking technique. I used the basic masking technique by masking Sophia to add the palm tree from Soakin' Up the Sun behind her. This Sophia is the Stamp of the Month for August from Paper Pretties, called Story Time Sophia. She is adorable! Paper Pretties has also released Give Thanks Sophia today and sentiments to go with her!

Be sure to check out what the other Prettie Girls have created using a masking technique! I know I'm excited to see!
