Ooh La La

This was for this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS, to make a "kick-stand" card. This is the first time I've made one of these cards! Kirsten DuBosque or KED came up with this cool kind of card. It adds a different flair which I love! I decided to get out my Ginger Blossom paper from the new Spring-Summer Collection. I just LOVE this paper. The image is by Rubber Romance, another favorite of mine. I'm not sure how well you can see in the picture, but the bathtub is on dimensionals and the bubbles all have Icicle Stickles on them. It's nice and sparkly in real life. . .you can almost smell the Calgon! LOL The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Meet Me at the Cafe set. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Babs (Rubber Romance), sentiment (My Favorite Things); Paper- Ginger Blossom DS, Whisper White (SU); Ink- Bordering Blue, Really Rust, Basic Black (SU); Accessories- double stitched grosgrain in River Rock, Icicle Stickles, dimensionals, blender pen.

Tempting Saffron

This was for this week's Color Challenge on SCS, Tempting Saffron. . . to use Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Real Red. I just recently got this stamp by Rubber Romance from the Paper Pretties Corner Store and I love it! It's just such a fun image. I don't really have any sentiments to go with it, but I thought this sentiment from the Michael's $1 bin would work well. The card itself was pretty simple since the image was so big, I didn't have a lot of empty space to fill. I colored with ink pads and a blender pen and added a bit of sparkle to her boots with turquoise Stickles. SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Carrie (Rubber Romance), $1 stamp; Paper- So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Whisper White; Ink- Basic Black, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Bordering Blue; Acccessories- hemp, key tag punch, paper piercer, turquoise Stickles.

In other news, the Verve Visual countdown to two NEW sets has begun! The new sets will be revealed on November 10, but from today until November 10, you can catch "sneak peeks" on the Verve Visual blog by the Design Team! So, head on over and check it out! I have a feeling you'll really love these sets! (wink!)

Mojo Monday Week #4

This is for Julee's Mojo Monday Challenge over at Poetic Artistry. I just love these challenges that Julee posts. I didn't get a chance to do last week's, so I REALLY wanted to do this one! I haven't used my Rubber Romance stamps in a while and since I needed a larger image to fit the space on the sketch, I thought I'd use this one. I added some pearl brads I found at my local craft store and the sentiment is from a Studio G clear stamp set. I also used the Sliders Cuttlebug die. Head on over to Julee's blog and try the Mojo Challenge yourself! Thanks for visiting! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Melanie (Rubber Romance), sentiment (Studio G); Ink- Palette in Noir, Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel, VersaMagic in Aegean Blue; Paper- Basic Grey Hang 10 line in Pipeline and Stoked, DCWV dark blue, light blue, chocolate; Accessories- Aquapainter, Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip markers, Cuttlebug Sliders die, scallop circle punch, organdy ribbon, pearl brads (Darice), paper piercer.

Finally, a Tent Topper

I have been wanting to make one of these tent topper cards since I saw them on their extremely talented creator's blog, Michelle Wooderson. She comes up with the most fabulous creations! The Sketch Challenge on SCS this week was to make a tent topper. . .perfect excuse for me! :) Since I was behind on challenges and short on time, I combined the Sketch Challenge with today's Limited Supplies Challenge, It's Not All Black & White, to use only black ink and then "color" your card using embellishments or paper. This card came together pretty quickly, which made me VERY happy! I just LOVE these tent toppers! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Melanie, Rubber Romance, sentiment from Verses; Paper- Regal Rose, Amy Butler Sola Collection, DCWV olive; Ink- Palette in Noir; Accessories- paper piercer, horizontal slot punch, organdy ribbon, ticket corner punch, Coluzzle oval template.

Girlfriends

This was for last week's Color Challenge on SCS, to use Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant and Ruby Red. As much as I like purple, I never use Elegant Eggplant. I do like it, but I guess I usually go for either the brighter or softer shades of purple rather than the deep, dark. I made another gate fold card just for something different since I always make standard size cards. I cut around the sentiment and mounted it on dimensionals so that the focal image could tuck behind it and hold the card closed. I'm not sure I like the layout of this card, but it was quick and what worked best. I added Lime Stickles over the jewels for a little sparkle. I didn't think I was going to get a chance to stamp today, but this has made me happy that I could sneak in a little stamping! :) Hope you enjoy your day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Jane, Rubber Romance, Studio G sentiment; Paper- DCWV eggplant and rose, Certainly Celery, White from Papertrey Ink; Ink- Palette in Noir, Ruby Red, Blush Blossom; Accessories- Aquapainter, Lime Stickles, paper piercer, Giga scallop oval punch, Mega oval punch, Lollipop ribbon, Cuttlebug Spots and Dots folder.

Friends

This was for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS, Create a Background. You had to make a background out of a stamp that wouldn't normally be used as a background stamp. This is the Melanie stamp by Rubber Romance. I stamped a portion of her body for the focal point of the card, and just stamped her legs across the bottom of the card as a background to create movement and to go along with the sentiment. I think it worked out pretty well. This is a really big stamp, so you have to use the WHOLE card to get all of her in. Anyway, I think it fit into the challenge quite well. . .who would ink just the legs of a stamp for the background, right? LOL Thanks for visiting today! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Melanie from Rubber Romance, A Muse sentiment; Paper- Regal Rose, DCWV Dark Brown, Whisper White; Ink- Basic Brown, Regal Rose; Accessories- ribbon from Doodliedoo, paper piercer, Chocolate Chip and Regal Rose markers, slit punch.

Let's Get Together Soon

I just got my order from Eclectic Paperie and I just LOVE my new stuff! I saw this card on Jenn Balcer's blog a while ago and HAD to have that stamp. (Isn't Jen's card just GORGEOUS??? Then again, which of her cards aren't?) Once I browsed Eclectic Paperie looking for it, I found this one that I HAD to have too! :) This is the Jane stamp from Rubber Romance. I just LOVE it, and of course, had to make her with red hair! I used this week's Sketch Challenge on SCS for the layout. The sentiment is from my clear Fiskars Girlfriends set. Well, that's another card I got to stamp today! That makes a VERY GOOD day for me! Yeah! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Jane from Rubber Romance, sentiment from Fiskars Girlfriends set; Paper- Basic Grey Scarlet Letter; Ink- Ruby Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Palette in Noir; Accessories- paper piercer, Chocolate Chip marker, Aged Copper brads, Stardust gel pen, Aquapainter.
