Happy Holidays

I've been thinking about Christmas cards that are relatively easy to mass produce without losing those details that make handmade cards so special.  I came up with this, although some things may still be subject to change! LOL  I used the Sparkle & Cheer set from Taylored Expressions.  When I think about mass producing cards, the first thing I go to are my silhouette stamps.  Not having to color each image saves a lot of time.  For this card, I stamped the reindeer image and the sentiment in Versamark ink and embossed them with gold embossing powder.   The whole card uses shimmery white paper, which makes it extra sparkly and pretty. . .especially for the holidays!  I add a strip using the Scalloped Eyelet Border Die along the left edge of the card.
Now, the only thing I "may" change before taking on the mass production is the embossing.  I LOVE the gold, but sometimes just plain stamping gets the job done quicker!  I think the reindeer and sentiment would also look beautiful in red!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy Halloween!

New Verve!!

In case you missed the release party last night, the newest Verve stamps are now available as well as the two new coordinating dies!!  Today I have a card for you using the Munchkin Phrases set that was just released.  I just love the sentiments in this set.  As you can guess if you read my blog, I will be using the "Little Man" sentiment a lot.  For this card, however, I used the sentiment from the set that makes me giggle every time I read it, "Princess of Quite A Lot".  I just think it is adorable and SO true for at least two of my girls. . .the third is too young to tell yet!  LOL

I thought this Hello Kitty embossing folder would go perfectly with this sentiment.  As I mentioned before, when I have a set that is only sentiments, I LOVE to use embossing folders.  They are perfect for adding that extra something without taking away from the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a wonderful and safe Halloween weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Munchkin Phrases (Verve Stamps); Ink- Blushing Bride (SU); Paper- Spring Stack (DCWV), Sweet Blush (PTI);  Accessories- tag die (Spellbinders), brads (Making Memories), ribbon (PTI), Hello Kitty Spring Embossing set (Sizzix);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Winter New Release Spotlights: Day 5

Today is release day and we have something VERY exciting to show you today!  We hope you'll join us tonight at the Release Party thread at 9pm Eastern!

Now, onto the exciting part!  You've seen a couple of new items this week at Verve, the Sweet Scallop Tag and the Vintage Oval Frame.  Well, Verve is now introducing A Cut Above, new coordinating dies!!!  Both dies were scheduled to be released tonight, but there was a manufacturing error with the Vintage Oval Frame die, so only the Sweet Scallop Tag die will be released tonight!

I used the Glad Tidings set for my card along with Mojo Monday Sketch 162.  First I stamped the gorgeous snowflakes in black on the Kraft paper for the background.  Then I stamped and die cut the tag and spritzed it with some gold glimmer mist.  The brad in the center of the tag snowflake was coated with gold embossing powder to make it gold (it was silver).

So, check out what the rest of the Divas have to show you using this fabulous new die and I hope to see you later tonight!  Thanks for stopping by!

Today, we're spotlighting Glad TidingsGlad Tidings is such an elegant set.  I made a clean and simple card.  The background was stamped with one of the images in the set.  I then stamped the wreath, colored it with Copic markers and then made a banner using the Joyeux Noel sentiment.
I added some Stardust Stickles to the berries on the wreath and some ribbon and gold cording to finish the card.
We have one more day of Spotlights tomorrow and then tomorrow night is the Release Party from 9-11pm Eastern!  We hope to see you there!

Winter New Release Spotlights: Day 3

Today is Day 3 of the Winter New Release Spotlights at Verve.  If you've missed them, you can head on over to the Verve Blog and follow the links to visit the Divas and see what they've been creating!  Today we're showing you two of the new sets, Merry Wishes and the Sweet Scallop Tag

My first card uses the Merry Wishes set along with some paper from the Tinsel & Twig Collection by the Girls' Paperie.  I used Beaded Ovals Nestabilities for the focal point and airbrushed Copic marker while the paper was still in the die.

I added some Dazzling Diamonds to the berries on the image.  This is a festive set that you'll love creating your Christmas cards with!
The second set we're spotlighting today is the Sweet Scallop Tag.  You'll recognize the Joy Plain Jane from the Day 1 Spotlights, but I stamped that after stamping my Sweet Scallop Tag onto Kraft cardstock with Crumb Cake ink.
The Sweet Scallop Tag is great for adding to cards or is perfect for adding names to your packages!  Be sure to visit the rest of the Divas on today's list to see more with these two sets and don't forget to stop back tomorrow for more peeks!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

TE Blast From the Past Blog Hop

It's time for the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop!  For this month, I decided to pull out the Sweet Occasions set.  I used the sketch that Sankari provided, which worked perfectly!  I paper pieced the house as well as the word "congrats".  The rest was colored using Copic markers and I added some Stardust Stickles on all the "snowy" parts.

After I colored the frame, I took my Copic Blender and added the polka dots by just holding the marker on spots until the pink colored was pushed away.

Now here's my favorite part. . .hopping around to see all of the older sets people used!  Have fun hopping and thanks for stopping by!

May Your Holidays Sparkle

Today I had some extra time this morning, so I was able to play along with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  I don't get to play along often enough!  I used the Winter Wonderland set from Taylored Expressions for my card.  I just LOVE the papers in the Snow Day Project Pantry as well!

I used the layered snowflake as my "main panel" as far as the sketch goes.  I die cut the snowflakes using the Winter Wonderland Snowflake dies and I die cut the sentiment piece using the Favor Frame Die.

Just in case you haven't been peeking in at Taylor's blog, she is celebrating the 12 Days of a Handcrafted Christmas!  Monday through Thursday she posts videos showing you how to create gorgeous handcrafted projects!  You don't want to miss a single video!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Winter Wonderland (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Fresh Snow, Plum Pudding, Summer Sunrise (PTI); Paper- Snow Day Project Pantry (TE); Accessories- Winter Wonderland Snowflake dies, Favor Frame die, bling and ribbon from Snow Day Project Pantry (TE);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Time is going by so quickly!  I couldn't believe it when summer was over and now, here we are getting ready for Christmas!  LOL   As much as I LOVE summer, I do love the Fall/Winter holidays!  I created this card using the Penguin Pals set from Taylored Expressions.  I also used the Winter Wonderland set and coordinating dies for the two snowflakes on the card.  The card stock and patterned paper is from the Tinsel & Twig Project Pantry.  The focal panel was die cut using the Take Note 3 die.

I colored the adorable penguins in using Copic markers.  I added some red pearls (from the Project Pantry) to the ivy berries on the penguin's hat.  I just LOVE that adorable little, tiny penguin, don't you?  The bigger penguins are one stamp and little penguin I stamped, colored, cut out and adhered it in front of the big penguins with foam adhesive.  Finally, I inked the edges of the focal panel to make it stand out a little more on the card.

A Handcrafted Christmas

Just in case you've missed it, Taylor is celebrating 12 Days of a Handcrafted Christmas on her blog.  There are videos Monday through Thursday showing you how to create adorable gifts for the holidays!  So tune in and start creating your gifts for the holidays!

Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch?

Today I'm using the other set I recently purchased from The Cat's Pajama's.  This set is called Witchy.  Isn't she just adorable?  So, I decided to create another card for the Think Pink Customer Blog Hop.  She makes a perfect Glinda the Good Witch, don't you think?  :)  I started with last week's Sketch For You To Try.  I colored her in using Copic markers.

I left the kitty white since I didn't want to add much color besides pink.

The tilted panel behind the focal image was embossed using the Polka Dots Embossing folder from QuicKutz.  Thanks for stopping by today!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Witchy (The Cat's Pajama's); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush (PTI); Accessories- Polka Dots Embossing Folder (QuicKutz), Sweet Blush ribbon (PTI), white gel pen, paper piercer, Copic markers, circle and heart punch (SU);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Do Not Give Up

Today I have another card I created for the Verve release last week.  This uses the Plain Jane Galatians 6:9.  I thought the Bird Call Cuttlebug folder worked well with this sentiment.  I think I mentioned before that I love to use the Cuttlebug folders with larger images (and not just patterns)  when I have a set that's a sentiment only.  I think they work really well and don't take away from the sentiment.
I used the Letterpress technique with my Cuttlebug folder.  I put white craft ink all over the inside of the Cuttlebug folder and then ran it through the Cuttlebug.  It gave this nice, white haze to the image.

Thanks for stopping by today! I can't believe it's Friday again already! Have a great weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps: Galatians 6:9 (Verve Stamps); Ink- Fresh Snow (PTI); Paper- True Black, Harvest Gold (PTI); Accessories- Bird Call Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), ribbon (Darice), rhinestones (Taylored Expressions); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Think Pink

A couple of weeks ago I made my first ever The Cat's Pajamas purchase.  I've always loved their stamps and when their latest Halloween and winter themed stamps came out, there were a few that I just couldn't resist!  Like this one!  This set is called Deep Breath.  Isn't he adorable!?  There is a Customer Blog Hop going on over at The Cat's Pajamas and the theme is Think Pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I thought I'd ink up my new stamps and play along.
I created this card and treat ensemble.  I paper pieced the hat and scarf and added some Dazzling Diamonds to the skates and fur on the hat.

I just LOVE the sentiment "Some Bunny's Been Naughty".  It inspired me to come up with the treat.  There is a sentiment in this set that says simply "Ooops".

So, first I used my little Tuxedo Black ink pad and inked up just the "oop" and stamped it onto white cardstock.  Then, I used a black marker to just color the "p" and stamped that at the beginning of the word and did the same with the exclamation point.  That gave me the "poop".  Then I used a black marker and colored just the "Bunny" from the sentiment I used for the card to finish the title of "Bunny Poop".  I filled the little basket with a bag of mini marshmallows.  :)
I thought it would be a cute little set.  I mean, I wouldn't mind being considered naughty if I got a cute little bag of bunny poop, would you?!  LOL :)
Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Deep Breath (The Cat's Pajamas); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Fresh Snow (PTI); Paper- Bazzill, Jolly By Golly Collection (Cosmo Cricket); Accessories- Baskets and Blooms die (SU), Labels 9 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copic markers, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU), border punch (EK Success);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"
