Taylored Expressions March Sneak Peeks: Who's Getting Married?

Welcome to Day 1 of the March Sneak Peeks for Taylored Expressions!!  We have lots of new and exciting products to share with you over the next few days, so I hope you'll come back daily to see what's in store!!  I have two projects to share today.  The first uses the NEW Mr. & Mrs. Congrats Banner.   This is a fun die set that is perfect for all those weddings you have coming up in the Spring!  :)

Along with the new die set, I used a couple other new products. . .the Houndstooth Embossing Folder and the Little Bits - Wedding Ring.  The Houndstooth Embossing Folder gives a nice texture to any card, and it worked well here.  The Little Bits - Wedding Ring adds a nice embellishment!  To finish the card, I used some Wedding Sequins to add some sparkle.

The second project I have to share today uses the NEW Happily Ever After Dies!  The Happily Ever After Dies coordinate with the previously released Happily Ever After set.  The dies make creating a card with this set even simpler!  I started my card by blending some Distress inks on watercolor cardstock and then stamping and embossing the leaves in clear ink.  Then I wiped across the background with a damp towel to "lift" some of the ink.  What was "trapped" under the embossing stayed darker.

I stamped and die cut the flower and leaves onto Candy Corn, Potato Chip and Sugar Cube cardstock. The sentiment was stamped and embossed onto vellum.  As a finishing touch, I added some sequins to give some sparkle.

Dreams Come True

Good morning!  Today I have a card to share that uses a fun technique. . .Emboss Resist.  Emboss Resist shows the "underneath" of what is embossed on the card.  I decided I wanted a colorful image, so I started by stamping the sentiments from the Light As a Feather Stamp & Die Combo onto a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock.  Next, I sponged inks onto the sentiments.  I used red, a lime green, purple and blue.  Once I was happy with the color, I stamped and embossed the feathers with clear embossing powder.

Here's where the technique gets really cool!  I covered the cardstock with black ink.  I kept applying black ink until I couldn't see the stamped sentiments underneath.  Next, I wiped the "embossed" feathers with a paper towel to remove the black ink off of the feathers.  The embossing resists the ink and reveals the sentiments and colors beneath!  Cool, right?  I die cut the panel using the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and wrapped some Silver Twine around the panel.  I stamped pieces of the sentiments on Candy Corn cardstock and vellum to create more of a focal sentiment. As a finishing touch, I added some Rainbow Brights Sequins to add to the color splash!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Verve February Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop

It's time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop! There are two ways to win Verve prizes: comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings! You have until March 5 to link up, so feel free to play as often as you like.

The pop of color in this industrial style loft speaks of the hope of spring in the midst of winter. Kind of like February... it's still cold and wintry, but new life is on the horizon. Feel free to take your inspiration from the photo or the color combo, whatever suits your fancy! We can't wait to see what you create.

If you came from visiting Betty, you're in the right place!!  For my card I used the Heart's Desire set from Verve along with some papers I found in my stash that matched the color combo in the inspiration piece.

I also used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch for my card.  I loved the colors in the inspiration picture.  To add some extra sparkle, I added some silver glitter glue to the inside of the vellum heart and some Shine Bright Sequins to the card.  Next on today's hop is Christyne.  Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions RELEASE DAY!!

Good morning!  It's time!  All of the products we've been sharing with you over the last few days are NOW AVAILABLE in the TE Store!!  I hope you've enjoyed all of the sneak peeks this week!  I have one more project to share with you today!  This card uses the NEW In the Garden Cutting Plate.  I think this is such a neat cutting plate!  I love the silhouette and all of the different ways you can use it!

I started by creating a colorblocked background with cardstock.  I used Peapod, Pumpkin and Cookie Monster.  I used the In the Garden Cutting Plate to die cut the "scene" out of Oreo cardstock and adhered it over the colorblocked background.  I used a piece of the Picture Perfect - Sunny Days large frame die for the sentiment.  That was die cut from Lemon Meringue.  The sun was created using the Sunny Days Stamp & Die Combo and Potato Chip and Candy Corn cardstock. I hope you've been inspired today!

Thanks for visiting! If you'd like to see more projects and new product information, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete list of our participating designers!  Have a great day and HAPPY SHOPPING!!
