Not Quite Extinct

Today I have a card that uses The Tribe from Our Craft Lounge.  It's such a fun set. . .so different than anything I have in my collection and perfect for humorous cards.  I created a little birthday card that will hopefully add a little humor on those "tough" birthdays!  :)

The papers are from The Green Stack from Die Cut With a View.  I colored the images with Copic markers and added some hemp and buttons to embellish.  I love this sentiment.  It makes me chuckle each time I read it.  Hope it gives you a chuckle too!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Fairy Bookmark

My oldest daughter Savannah LOVES to read!  She's 7 and it's unbelievable to me how much she'd reads.  Sometimes she even chooses sitting and reading over playing or swimming.  She just loves bookmarks, so I make her quite a few.  She really likes this kind that "hugs" the page.  Sometimes I put magnets inside so it has less chance of slipping out of the book, but she likes them either way.

I used the Tooth Fairy Fun set from Our Craft Lounge to create this bookmark.  I colored her with Copic markers and added some Diamond Stickles to her wings.  I didn't add a sentiment since it was going to be a bookmark.  The patterned paper is from the Valentine Collection from We R Memory Keepers.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a GREAT day!

Born To Be Wild

I was able to play along with the OCL Sketch Challenge from last week.  I used The Tribe stamp set for my card.  This is a fun stamp set.  I have no other images in my stamp collection like this set, and the sentiments are great for humorous cards.

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copic markers.  For the background I used Tim Holtz Brick Wall Texture Fade.  The plaid paper is from the Indian Summer Stack from DCWV.  If you're look for a challenge, come and join us over at the OCL Blog for one!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Congrats Grad

We've been attending lots of graduation parties recently, so I've had to replenish my stock of graduation cards.  I used the Bookworm set from Our Craft Lounge for this fun card.  I thought it would be perfect for younger graduates, like from 8th grade or even Kindergarten.

The image was colored using Copic markers.  I die cut the giant ricrac and added some stitching for a simple and easy card.  Hope you're having a great weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Bookworm (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Wild Wasabi (SU), Pure Poppy, True Black (PTI); Accessories- Copic markers, button, twine, Giant RicRac Die (MFT);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Tooth Fairy

Here is another card with the adorable Tooth Fairy Fun set from Our Craft Lounge.  As you can imagine, I've gotten a lot of use out of this set as of late!  LOL  And I'll continue to get use out of this set for the next couple of years!  :)  My girls have loved finding Tooth Fairy cards under their pillows!

I colored her in with Copic markers.  I also stamped her again and only colored and cut out her head so that I could mount it with foam tape on top of the original stamped image.  It gives it more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you're enjoying your week!

Thanks Teacher

Today I have a cute little card that's perfect for this time of the year as school is coming to an end.  It uses the Bookworm set from Our Craft Lounge.  I started by stamping the sentiments and worm and apple onto a piece of white cardstock.  I colored parts of the sentiments with Copic markers.  I stamped the worm and apple image again on another piece of cardstock, colored it with Copic markers, cut it out and adhered it with foam tape to the original stamped image.

I cut a piece of black cardstock to fit the focal piece and used a punch to create the scalloped border along the top.  I tied some red ribbon around the piece.  I added a zig zag stitch along the bottom of the card base and then attached the focal piece to the card front with foam tape.  Thanks for stopping by today!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Bookworm (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- white (Georgia Pacific), True Black (PTI); Accessories- Scallop border punch (SU), ribbon (Darice), Copic markers;  Finished card measures 4.25" square

I See You've Survived

This stamp set is different than anything I have in my collection.  When I first saw it, it made me chuckle!  It's called The Tribe from Our Craft Lounge.  It's great for humorous birthday cards as I used it here.

I used patterned papers from my scrap bin stitched together for the background.  I found some animal print papers in my bin that I thought would work well.  :)  I colored the image with Copic markers and roughed up the edge of the focal piece with scissors.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- The Tribe (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger); Paper- DCWV, Crate Paper;  Accessories- Copic markers;  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

A Little Pampering

Today I have a little card for you using the Pretty & Pampered set from Our Craft Lounge.  I used the candle and table image from the set.  They are separate images, so you can put other things on the table.

Howdy

Today I have a fun little card for you.  I started by stamping the barn from the Barnyard set from Our Craft Lounge on Kraft cardstock and coloring it with Copic markers.  I stamped the fence and colored it with a white gel pen.  I love the different look coloring an image on Kraft cardstock gives.

I used the Woodgrain Texture Fade from Tim Holtz on the dark brown cardstock and added some jute to finish the "barn" look of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Day

Today I have a simple and bright card for you.  It uses the Circus Circus set from Our Craft Lounge.  I stamped the circus tent and colored it with Copic markers.  I stamped the letters in different colors and punched them out with a small circle punch and created a balloon bunch with them.

I sponged the top and bottom of the die cut focal piece while it was still in the die.  I used the Labels 8 Nestabilities.  The paper is from the Hippity Hoppity Collection from We R MemoryKeepers.

Take a Bath

Today I have a card using the Pretty and Pampered set from Our Craft Lounge.  This is a great set for all things girly. . .as a "just because", a "pick-me-up" or even to accompany a gift of bath and body items.  I used this sentiment on my card because it just reminded me of those Calgon commercials.  LOL  Doesn't a bath make everything better?  Okay, well maybe not everything. . .but it does for at least a little while!

For this card, I used papers from the Paisley Parade Collection from KI Memories.  I colored the image using Copic markers and then die cut it with the Big Scallop Nestabilities by Spellbinders.  I added a touch of glitter on the bubbles to give a little glimmer.  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Pretty and Pampered (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Turquoise Gem (VersaMagic); Paper- Paisley Parade Collection (KI Memories); Accessories- ribbon (Darice), buttons (PTI), Big Scallop Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copic markers, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Sweet Dreams Baby

I was going through my Google Reader this morning and saw that my sweet, sweet friend Beate posted a beautiful photo for inspiration and an invitation to cyber-stamp with her and Jenn.  I used to stamp with these gals all the time and REALLY miss Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge that we used to do together, so I just HAD to play along!  :)

When I tackle an inspiration challenge, I am usually very literal.  If the photo has flowers. . .I use flower stamps.  If the photo has square and rectangle shapes, I use square and rectangle shapes.  I decided to break out of that for this challenge.  So, I took the colors and the layout from the inspiration photo.  I used the Circus Circus set from Our Craft Lounge for my card.  It is one of the newest releases from Our Craft Lounge.  I colored the giraffe and hippo using Copics in colors from the inspiration photo.  I die cut the image using the Beaded Oval Nestabilities and then die cut the same frame in Wild Wasabi cardstock.  I cut out the "beaded" part of the die cut and attached it over the original.  The pink cardstock is embossed using the Elegant Lines embossing folder from Stampin' Up.  If you look at the inspiration photo closely, you can see that the pink tablecloth has an embossed pattern on it.  Finally, I sewed around the card and tied some ribbon.  So, are YOU going to play along with the inspiration photo?  I hope so!

Thanks for stopping by and have a BEAUTIFUL day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Circus Circus (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Summer Sun (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, Beaded Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), ribbon, Elegant Lines embossing folder (SU), white gel pen;  Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Moo-chas Gracias

Today's card uses an adorable set from Our Craft Lounge called The Barnyard.  If you like puns, you'll love this set as well as the coordinating set, Barnyard Banter.  I used some papers from the 72 and Sunny Collection from WeRMemory Keepers.  The cow was colored using Copic markers.  I added a little "tab" behind the focal panel that mimics the sun.  I added some Lemon Liquid Pearls to that circle punch.

I decided to adhere the focal panel at an agle.  When I attached it straight, it was boring, so I decided to tilt it a little.  Finally I added some sewing around the cloud paper.  A funny story, I asked my daughter Savannah how she liked this card.  She was reading the sentiment and said "I don't get it", so I explained that "muchas gracias" means "thank you" in Spanish, so they put the first part of the word how a cow would say it with "Moo".  She giggled and said "so, he's a Spanish cow, that's funny!"  Too cute.  She made me giggle!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- The Barnyard (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Ripe Avocado (PTI); Paper- 72 and Sunny Collection (WeRMemory Keepers); Accessories- Lemon Liquid Pearls, ribbon (Darice), Scallop Border punch (SU);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Wishing You Sunshine

Today I have a card for you using an old favorite Our Craft Lounge set of mine, Sunshine Cheer.  I used some fun Sweet Summertime papers from Echo Park.  The sun was paper pieced on some polka dot patterned paper.  The flower was stamped and then colored with Copic markers.

If you looked closely, you see that there is something very different for me on this card!  I actually REALLY sewed!  If you have been a long time visitor, you know that my favorite thing to do is faux sew on cards.  Well, I finally got a little craft sewing machine a while ago when I found one on sale.  I only JUST opened the box and decided to try it out.  As you can see, I'm terrible at sewing!  The stitching is all messy, but I thought it kind of looked neat anyway.  All I was trying for was a zig zag stitch around the focal piece but I kept having problems with the thread.  Hopefully you think the stitching looks kind of neat too!  :)  It definitely makes it unique because you couldn't get that stitching on purpose!  LOL  Oh well. . .maybe I should just stick to my faux sewing!  :)

If you missed it, 11 new sets have been released at Our Craft Lounge!  Visit HERE to see how you can win some new stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Sunshine Cheer (OCL); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Sweet Summertime (Echo Park); Accessories- button, twine (PTI), Copic markers;  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

I was able to play along with the OCL Photo Inspiration Challenge this week.  I used the Tweet Thang set from Our Craft Lounge for my card.  The bird ended up being a little "dull" with the colors, so I added some Stardust Stickles to its breast to add a little more spark.  The grass was cut using the Martha Stewart Fringe scissors.  Did you know you can win some Our Craft Lounge stamps by playing along with the challenges?  Follow the link above to find all the details!
