Verve's October 2014 Release Celebration - Day 1

Happy World Cardmaking Day and welcome to Verve's October 2014 Release Celebration! Three new sets, three new dies and a sequin mix just released this morning and the Divas are here to share some of our first looks at the new goodies with you!

My card uses the Pink Power set.   I just LOVE this silhouette image and the sentiment.  It makes me smile.  I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch for my card as well.  I don't have any sets like this in my collection, so this set is perfect!

VLV You're So Awesome

It's Friday and that means a new Viva la Verve Sketch is up!!  I LOVED this week's sketch from Julee and I also loved the Color Inspiration, so I used that too!  My card uses the Happy Days set.  I haven't used that set in a while and I really LOVE it.  The papers are from the Plus One Amy Tangerine Paper Pad from American Crafts.

The star was diecut using the Starry Die.  I also stamped the flourish from Happy Days up in the corner and embossed it in white.

Come play along with this week's sketch!  We can't wait to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

TE Release Day - Ready, Set, Snow and Snow Globe

All of the new products that you've been seeing this week are NOW AVAILABLE in the TE Store!  I have one more project to share with you today before you go shop!  ;)  My project uses the Ready, Set, Snow set along with the Snow Globe a la Carte and the Snow Globe Die

The papers are from the Gingerbread Lane Matched Kit.  The cardstock I used was Sugar Cube, Oreo and Chocolate Truffle.  First, I stamped the snow globe and die cut it using the Snow Globe Die.  On the little piece that gets cut out of the center with the die, I stamped the snowman image and colored it using Copic markers.  After coloring the snow globe image, I added a piece of acetate to give the snow globe look. (you can sort of see the glare of the acetate in above pic) I adhered the snowman piece flat on the card and attached the snow globe with foam tape.

I sentiment was stamped and punched out with a circle punch and then mounted on a piece of Oreo cardstock that was die cut with the NEW Label Stacklets 9.  I also added a couple Gingerbread Lane Sequins on either side of the sentiment. Oh, and I forgot about the icicle border!  I die cut that out of Marshmallow Felt using the Ice Border Die

TE October Sneak Peeks - Mitten Garland and Seasonal Trees

Welcome back for Day 3 of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions!  I hope you've been enjoying all the sneak peeks so far!  Today I have two more projects to share with you.  The first uses the Mitten Garland.  The Mitten Garland is an adorable new die set that contains the mitten, a cuff, a snowflake and a sentiment!

I created a "pocket mitten" that either a gift card or candy cane could be stuffed in.  Once I die cut the mitten, I used the NEW Sweater Weather Cutting Plate and embossed the mitten, then brayered ink all over it.  I love that it makes it look like a material pattern!  The snowflake was die cut a few times out of a cereal box and then layered, making a "chipboard" snowflake.  I added the cuffs and ribbon to hang the mitten and stuffed it with some filler so it's ready to add a gift.  NOTE:  The white tip of the thumb was just a piece I die cut with the mitten die and then cut to fit the thumb.  I thought it matched the cuff well, but the "real" reason I put it there is because the cutting plate wasn't wide enough to emboss the whole thumb, so I covered that spot! ;)

The second project I have today uses the Seasonal Trees Die along with the Evergreens Die.  I think these dies go together so well!  I started by diecutting the Seasonal Trees out of Oreo cardstock.  Then I die cut it again out of Chocolate Truffle, but cut off the border portion since I wanted the border to be black.  Next, I added Liquid Pearls all over the trees.

Once that was dry, I die cut and added the icicle border using the Ice Border Die.  Finally, I die cut the evergreens using the Evergreens Die in Peapod and Granny Smith cardstock.  I added them to the scene with some foam tape and added Liquid Pearls to them too.  The sentiment is from the Shiny & Bright set.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.
