I've Been RAKed!!

Look at this GORGEOUS card I received from Jill! I was so excited when I got the mail. . .what a wonderful surprise! The charm, the ribbon, I love EVERYTHING about this card! Thank you SO MUCH, Jill, for thinking of me! If you haven't found it, Jill has a great blog called InkGenious that you need to check out! Go take a look at all of her wonderful creations! Thanks, Jill, you made my day!

Time For More Oodagoodies!

It's that time again! I wanted to make something as I did for the last set of Oodagoodies, but I ran out of time, so I hope these are suitable replacements! :) I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you who visit my blog on a regular basis. I've had such fun so far and have really enjoyed meeting a lot of you! It's just amazing to me how many of you visit daily. When my husband kept urging me to start a blog, I kept thinking/saying "why would anyone want to visit a blog by ME?" Well, THANK YOU for proving me wrong and him right! :)

So, for a chance to win these Oodagoodies, leave me a comment answering the following question: What is your favorite type of card. . .heavily embellished, or clean and simple?

For me, I have to say that I LOVE other people's cards that are heavily embellished. I find them amazing, but my brain doesn't work like that, so I usually create clean and simple cards with a few embellishments. I REALLY love very simple cards when I see them (with NO embellishments), but I often feel that I "haven't done enough" if I make them. Weird, huh?

This package contains:

  • 1 Studio K Mini book kit by K&Company
  • 1 Travel Tag book kit by K&Company
  • 1 Rhonna Farrer clear stamp
  • 1 Studio G clear stamp set
  • 18 assorted Primas
  • 1 alterable box

Leave your comment by Tuesday, April 10 at 10am EST, and I'll draw a random number to choose the winner! Good luck and thanks for playing along!

Simple Joys

Here's another card with the Green Thumb stamp set from Paper Trey Ink. I am really loving this set. I haven't even used half of the stamps in this set yet! I thought I would make a "Springy" card even though it's freezing here! :) These flowers reminded me of "blowing wishes" with dandelions. So soft and pretty. That's why I picked that sentiment as well. . .a simple joy such as "blowing wishes" was one of my favorite things as a kid. It's funny how embellishments get added sometimes. I have to tell you that I got a smudge of ink from my finger on the focal point of the card, so I punched a piece of pink cardstock with the word window punch (and added the purple brads) to hide the smudge. This was the second try on this because I had ink smudges ALL over the first one since I was too impatient to let the ink dry, and I wasn't about to start over a third time! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Green Thumb and Butterfly Kisses from Papertrey Ink; Ink- VersaMagic DewDrops in Midnight Black, Pixie Dust, Aloe Vera and Spring Pansy; Paper- DCWV pink, purple, SU Whisper White; Accessories- Making Memories brads, word window punch, horizontal slot punch, Offray ribbon.

Got My Green Thumb

I just got my Green Thumb stamp set from Paper Trey Ink today! I was so excited, but I had to wait until I got home tonight to play. These particular stamps are supposed to be strawberries, but I (of course!) saw them as ladybugs the first time I laid eyes on them. I just omitted a part of the "strawberry stem" on the bigger ladybug for antenna, and actually drew them on the little ladybug. This is the only thing I've done with this stamp set so far, but I'm just itching to play some more. It is a GREAT stamp set, so if you haven't bought yours yet. . .go do so! :) You won't be sorry! Thanks for visiting! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Green Thumb by Paper Trey Ink, smaller dots from Butterfly Kisses by Paper Trey Ink; Ink- VersaMagic DewDrops in Red Magic, Midnight Black and Hint of Pesto; Paper- DCWV, SU Whisper White; Accessories- Giga Scallop Oval punch, Mega Oval punch, slit punch, Offray ribbon.

Color Challenge

This was for part of yesterday's Color Challenge on Splitcoast. I LOVE the colors together. I also LOVED the sketch challenge from Amy's blog so much, that I decided to use it again here. The color challenge was to use Real Red, Kraft and Basic Black. I haven't gotten to the other half of the color challenge, but I'm hoping to since I don't really use either of these color combos very much. I am starting to accumulate so many cards from doing the challenges and posting here, that I need to start sending some out! :) It could be to YOU! I think I'll pick some random names from the Blogger's RAK group (one's I haven't sent to before). If you'd like to "make your name stand out a little more on the list", leave a comment to jog my memory! :) If you're not on the Blogger's RAK group list-JOIN! It's lots of fun! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Joann and Michael's $1 stamps; Ink- Charcoal Fluid Chalk ink; Paper- DCWV Red, Black, SU Kraft; Accessories- circle punches, Offray ribbon, Making Memories brad, paper piercer, black marker, white gel pen.

Blogger's RAK!!!

Look at what I received today! I was SO excited! This is such a beautiful card! It is from Kristine Breach! Kristine, I LOVE all the Cuttlebugging on this card! The paisley butterflies are awesome too! Thank you so much for making my day! You have to see the other wonderful stuff that Kristine creates! Check out her blog! I'm so glad she sent me this. I know I've visited her blog before (because I remember her banner), but somehow it got lost in the shuffle. So, THANK YOU, Kristine for the beautiful card and for putting your blog back on my daily visit list! Have a wonderful day!

Can't Wait for Summer

I can't wait until the weather STAYS warm! We go back and forth between beautiful days and rain and snow here in Pittsburgh. Today is supposed to be beautiful! Thursday we're supposed to get snow again. I just can't wait until summer! I made this card a while ago and kept adding little things here and there. I'm still not sure I'm happy with it, but it reminded me of the time of year I like best. What's your favorite time of year? I hope to do one of the challenges over at Splitcoast later today. . .head on over and try it out yourself! Have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Along the Shore, Canvas; Paper- Old Olive, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, window sheet, Very Vanilla; Ink- StazOn Black, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa; Accessories- pastels, hemp, Antique Brass brads.

Faux Shaving Cream

This was for the Try a New Technique challenge on Splitcoast. It was to used the Faux Shaving Cream techinque. I'm thinking it's very similar (if not, just another name for the same thing) as the Twisted Kissing technique, which Beate demonstrates in her Kissing Tutorial. It is a pretty neat technique without all the mess of shaving cream! Go give the challenge a try! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Butterfly Kisses from Paper Trey Ink, Marcella Special Occasions clear stamp set; Ink- Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip; Paper- DCWV brown and apricot, SU Whisper White and Certainly Celery; Accessories- May Arts ribbon, horizontal slot punch, Cuttlebug A2 Swirls folder, bling from Walmart.

Another Super Sketch Sunday

Another WONDERFUL sketch challenge by Amy Westerman on her blog, Heartfelt Greetings. She gives me such inspiration to create some neat cards! Thank you, Amy! I used some Basic Grey Scarlet Letter paper on this. I liked the distressed look of it. I was going to try to "distress" the elephant a bit, but I decided not to just in case I screwed it up. . .and this was the first time I got to stamp today, so the time was precious! :) I added a little faux stitching around the edge of the card to match the stitching on the May Arts ribbon. This card was a lot of fun to create. When I look at a sketch challenge, the most difficult part for me is deciding which stamp set to use! I hadn't used Wild About You in a little while, so that's how I made my decision this time. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I hear we're supposed to get snow here later in the week, so I'm hoping they're wrong! :) I was starting to pull out some of my summer sets! Wishful thinking! Have a great night! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Wild About You, A Muse small oval; Ink- Basic Black, Old Olive, Ruby Red, Buckaroo Blue; Paper- Basic Grey Scarlet Letter; Accessories- circle punches, May Arts ribbon, paper piercer, white gel pen.

Spring Trifold

I wanted to make another of those adorable Trifold Cards-Cami Style. I just think they're so cute. I used the stickers that I received from Mary when we swapped cards. I thought the stickers were adorable, and perfect for this time of year! The sentiment is from one of the Studio G $1 clear stamp sets from Michael's. The stamp actually says "Have a Great Day", but I had to omit the "Have" because it wouldn't fit. I added a little doodling on the left side of the image. The flower on the frame was another sticker from the set I received. In order to get the "double-sided" patterned paper, I cut two pieces (the same size) of different patterns from the DCWV Spring Stack and adhered them back to back. It worked pretty well! I love all these cute little cards that have been the fad lately. They're different, and just so cute! If you haven't made any yet, BEWARE. . .you'll become addicted! :) SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Studio G clear stamp; Ink- Charcoal Fluid Chalk ink; Paper- DCWV Spring Stack, light green, SU Whisper White; Accessories- scalloped oval punch, coluzzle oval template, black marker, Jolee's Boutique stickers, paper piercer, white gel pen, gingham ribbon, slit punch, Aquapainter.
