Simple Blessings

Here's a card I made using a new favorite tool. . .the Flourished Frame Cuttlebug folder. I just got it at Stamper's Dream, but apparently I snagged the last one. I just LOVE it! Why? Because all I had to do was run a piece of cardstock through my Cuttlebug in this folder and then stamp an image inside. I used an image and sentiment from the Autumn Blessings set from JustRite Stampers. You can find this set, as well as many other JustRite products, at Stamper's Dream! Doesn't this make for a simple, but elegant card? If you didn't feel like coloring an image, just a sentiment would look beautiful in this frame! I love quick and simple cards that look like you spent forever on them! :) Thanks for stopping by. . .hope you're having a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Autumn Blessings (JustRite Stampers); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Dark Chocolate (PTI); Accessories- Copic markers, Flourished Frame Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Paper Pretties Sneak Peek - Day 2

Another set that is releasing on September 1st over at Paper Pretties is called Season of Thanksgiving. It's this adorable Indian Sophia! For my project today, I thought I'd make a little treat that's a little different but fitting, I think. . .unpopped popcorn! I LOVE using our hot air popper to make popcorn and melt the butter. Sometimes I like to make that rather than the usual microwave popcorn. It makes it seem so much more special, doesn't it? The kids get so excited! :)

You can see peeks of other sets that are releasing on September 1st by visiting the other Prettie Girls:

Your Kindness

Yesterday I finally got a chance to do Mercy's sketch . I used the Thankful Flourishes set from Our Craft Lounge. I stamped the flower from the set in Plum Pudding ink on Plum Pudding cardstock. After I cut out the flower, I sponged and curled the edges and added this neat (and huge) button to the center. I also used one of the embossing folders from the Iron Works Cuttlebug folder set. I thought the embossed flourish went well with the whole card.

Another sketch I was able to participate in lately was the August Sketch Challenge over in the Our Craft Lounge forums. I used the Witch to Wear set from Our Craft Lounge. I covered the "cape" in Christmas Red Stickles and the boots with some Crystal Effects to give that patent leather look. It makes a great Halloween outfit, huh? LOL I also used the Haunted Halloween Cuttlebug folder on the base of the card, so there's a Haunted House in the background in case you didn't notice.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a great weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Thankful Flourishes, Witch to Wear (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Plum Pudding (PTI), Whisper White Craft (SU), Burnt Umber (Palette); Paper- Plum Pudding, True Black, Pure Poppy (PTI), Indian Summer Fall Stack (DCWV); Accessories- Iron Works Cuttlebug folder, Haunted Halloween Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), ribbon (May Arts), button (PTI), Crystal Effects; Finished cards measure 5.5"x4.25"

Weekend Sketch Challenge #95

Well, we've gotten through a whole week of Kindergarten and Savannah STILL loves it! This is very good news! :) The week went REALLY fast though and here we are with another Weekend Sketch Challenge!

For today's card, I used the Berries & Cherries set and Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions. I had to split up the sentiment to accomodate the sketch, but it worked perfectly! :)

Be sure to stop and see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have created using this week's sketch. I'm sure they'll be fabulous! Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Berries & Cherries (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Berries & Cherries Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions); Accessories- Copic markers, circle and scallop circle punches (Marvy Uchida); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Frances challenged the Prettie Girls to create a scrapling. I had no idea what a scrapling was. A scrapling is the "scrap" you'd get from cutting down a 4.25"x5.5" card to 4.25" square. You're left with a 4.25"x1.25" piece. Frances said the scrapling could be no wider than 2.5". After finding out what a scrapling was and actually making one, I really like them! I made mine into a bookmark. I put magnets on the inside so that it will "hug" a page in a book. I thought this one would be adorable for Savannah. . .especially now that she's learning to read. So, thank you Frances for introducing me to something new!

I used the Beach Bum set and the sentiment is from Off To School Sophia from Paper Pretties. Paper Pretties has a new release coming up on September 1st! Sneak Peeks start August 30th! :)
Make to sure to stop and see what the other Prettie Girls created for this challenge:

Today it's my turn to issue the next challenge to the Prettie Girls, so my challenge is an inspiration challenge and here's the inspiration:

Christmas JustRite at Stamper's Dream

This week is JustRite week over at Stamper's Dream and the The Dream Team has lots of beautiful eye candy to show using the Christmas release from JustRite Stampers!

For my project I used the Christmas Treasures set. I decided to "dress up" a candle as a gift. I used some Night Sky Shimmer cardstock from Papertrey Ink to add to the sparkliness of the gift. I stamped the image on both white cardstock and Night Sky Shimmer and cut along the "skyline" so that I could add the night sky to the image. I used gold glitter glue on the stars and sands of the image. You can't see it very well in the photo, but the cardstock that's wrapped around the candle is embossed using the Allegro Cuttlebug folder. I thought it would be neat to add the music notes with "Silent Night Holy Night" being a part of the image.

Here is the Dream Team schedule for this week. You won't want to miss what they have to show you!

Monday: Tosha , Denise , Kimberly and Michelle
Tuesday: Laurie , Amy , and Michelle and me
Wednesday: Laurie , Tosha , Kimberly and Michelle
Thursday: Kimberly , Denise and Michelle
Friday: Cammie , Amy , Kimberly and Michelle

Thanks for stopping by today! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Christmas Treasures (JustRite Stampers); Ink- Whisper White Craft (SU), Enchanted Evening (PTI); Paper- Night Sky Shimmer (PTI); Accessories- gold glitter glue, Allegro Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), gold ribbon, Plain Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders);

Happy Birthday Jacque!

Today is Jackie Pedro's (affectionately known as Jacque) birthday today and we're celebrating in Prettie style with a Birthday Blog Hop! We hope you'll help us wish Jackie a WONDERFUL birthday! The hop started with Frances, so if you didn't start there, head on over!

The theme was to use Black, White and Red since Jackie LOVES the Twilight series. . .especially Edward. :) For my card, I thought I'd make her a card from Edward. LOL It was hard to try and make him look pale! Notice the fangs? I tried to add some red stickles for blood, but it just wasn't looking right! LOL I used the Love You This Much set from Paper Pretties.

Jackie, I hope you have an AWESOME day! Here is Edward holding his arms out for a big old HUG! :) Sending you lots of BIG HUGS on your special day! We love you!

Your next stop on the hop is Jessica! We hope you'll continue all the way to Jackie's blog to give her some birthday love! Thanks for helping us celebrate!

First Day of Kindergarten

Well, today my baby went off to Kindergarten! Time goes by so quickly. I feel like I was just posting a picture of her first day of preschool and that was TWO years ago! Savannah was so excited to go to kindergarten. She's been asking me every day for the past week if "today was the day she was going to kindergarten". LOL I got up extra early today so I could get things organized and have her lunch ready and her bag packed, etc. I headed upstairs when it was time to wake her up and she was already up and dressed and casually says "Hi Mommy!" as I'm walking up the stairs to wake her up! LOL
She had a great day today and absolutely LOVES school! I'm so excited and happy for her. . .and so proud of my little baby who's growing up!

I wanted to stick a card in her lunch to make her smile in the middle of her day. I didn't have any "school" stamps handy, so I made a card using a new New Year's set called Cheers from Our Craft Lounge. I added the "school" in there with some alphabet stamps. They're not the same font, but hopefully it doesn't look too bad! LOL She was very excited to have a little "note" in her lunch today.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Fall and Winter

I was working on this card with my Polar White Flower Soft and adorable Cute Christmas - Snow Buddies. If you haven't seen these toppers, they are so cool because each set comes with extra pieces that you can layer on top of the base image to give a 3D effect. I've shown a close-up sideways view of the snowman. It adds so much dimension and extra cuteness to the card!

While I was working on the "winter" card, I thought I'd try out a "fall" card too. I used a Stampin' Up stamp set that I haven't used in a while. It's called Nature Silhouettes. I thought it might be fun to add Autumn Flower Soft to the tree and Shamrock Green and Christmas Green to the grass on the silhouette image. I embossed the background of the card with the Bird Call Cuttlebug folder to add to the "outdoors" feel.

Thanks for stopping by today! It's been a busy weekend with school starting tomorrow, and my baby is starting kindergarten! I just can't believe it! She'll be in school ALL DAY. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it's going to be tough for mommy at first! :) I'll let you know how the first day goes tomorrow!

Newest Verve

I can't believe I've never shared some of the newest Verve here on my blog. I thought I'd share those with you today.

Julee came out with some awesome new sets! If you frequent the Verve blog, you've seen the peeks and if you were at the release party you saw all of the gorgeous eye candy from the Verve Divas!

This first card uses the Cup of Life set. A perfect set for all of you tea lovers! Don't worry, though, because Julee also covered all you coffee lovers with Delightful and Delicious (sample not shown).
The next card uses one of my favorites this release, Bountiful Backgrounds. I just LOVE the different backgrounds Julee designed and the sentiments to go with them. What a perfect set when you're short on time. All you have to do is stamp a neat background and a sentiment. . .no coloring involved!

Budding Blossoms is a wonderfully elegant flower set. The different shaped flowers are so unique. It's fun to color them to match your patterned paper. The sentiment is from the Party Time set.
If you haven't seen the newest releases yet, head on over to Verve and check them out as well as the gallery! This week starts the Project Parade on the Verve Blog, so you don't want to miss what the Divas have in store for you! Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #94

It's Friday already and time for another Weekend Sketch Challenge. Head on over to Beate's blog to play along!

For today's sketch I used one of the newest releases from Our Craft Lounge called Granny's Potion. I colored granny in with Copic markers and added some spiders and webs in Whisper White Craft ink on the Basic Black cardstock. Isn't that sentiment too funny? :)

Be sure to stop by and see what Beate, Cambria, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have created using today's sketch. Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Granny's Potion (Our Craft Lounge); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Whisper White Craft (SU); Paper- Prism, Basic Black (SU); Accessories- Copic markers; Finished card measures 4.25" square

You're So Smooth

I am really loving this Indian Summer Fall Stack that I picked up at Joann's this past week. I just LOVE the colors and the glittered and foiled patterned papers inside. I thought they would go well with the Chillax set from Taylored Expressions. . .especially when thinking about an ice cold Smoothie! :) Yum! You can't really tell in the picture, but I put Crystal Effects over the blender pitcher to give it a glassy look. I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the sentiment since I needed it to fit in the circle.

I used Mercy's sketch for this card. Thanks for the awesome sketch, Mercy!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Chillax (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Indian Summer Fall Stack (DCWV), Melon Mambo (SU); Accessories- circle and scallop circle punches (SU), Glitter Dots, border punch (Martha Stewart), Copic markers, Crystal Effects; Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Christi challenged the Prettie Girls to use vellum in our creations. I haven't used vellum in quite a while, so I loved this challenge!

I took a very simple approach with my vellum. I used it to make busy patterned paper more subtle and to make an image more of a "shadow". I used the Simply Special set from Paper Pretties. I stamped the image on white cardstock and put the vellum over top. The sentiment was stamped on the vellum and I also dry embossed the vellum to create a frame around the image.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Prettie Girls created using vellum:

A Little Greeting

Here's a little card using what I think is an adorable little image! It's called Gardners Need Many Helpers and is in the Sarah Kay line from Stampavie. I used a partial part of the Lift Spirits Cling stamp from Stampendous. You can find both of these stamps at Stamper's Dream.
The paper I used is from the Indian Summer Fall Stack from Die Cut With a View. I colored the image in using Copic markers. I added a couple of Dew Drops on the sentiment circle for a little interest.
Don't you just want to hug this little image? So, so cute. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Gardners Need Many Helpers (Stampavie), Lift Spirits (Stampendous); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Indian Summer Fall Stack (DCWV); Accessories- Copic markers, Choc. Chip grosgrain, cirlce punches(SU), Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Isabelle Update

In case you've been wondering why I haven't been posting as much as I normally do, I thought I'd pop in and give you an update on the "reason"! LOL

Isabelle is now 1 month old (already!). She's doing very well. She still isn't into a regular schedule, but she's better than she used to be. At least now she'll lay in her basinette and let me do some things instead of screaming because she wants to be held. :) Once she starts napping at the same times each day, I'll be able to get back into a routine myself.

Her brother and sisters still love her to pieces. So much so, that the last week or so was very stressful for me. Arwen was sick, so I was trying to keep her away from Isabelle and I felt horrible pushing her away. I had to keep all three of them away so that Arwen didn't feel singled out. It was hard on me because I didn't feel like I gave Arwen the "cuddling and nurturing" that I would normally give my sick kids because I was so afraid of passing the sickness onto Isabelle. I'm sure I'm not the first mom with a newborn and sick older children who has felt this way. I'm just glad Arwen is well again and I'm crossing my fingers that everyone else stays well!

Thank you all for checking in with me! It's always so nice to hear from you. Know that I really appreciate all your thoughts and well wishes!

Happy Everything

Here is a happy little card with happy colors! I used the Sunny Window Cling stamp from Stampendous, the Happy Greetings Sparkles Clear set from Hero Arts and Just Chillin' Girl paper from Making Memories. All of these products can be found at Stamper's Dream.

I used Copic markers to color the image and added some of the flower gems that come with the Hero Arts Happy Greetings Sparkles Clear set. They fit perfectly over the boxes in the stamped image. As a finishing touch, I used the small scallop border punch from EK Success for the bottom edge of the card. I hope this card makes you smile as much as it makes me smile! :) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Weekend Sketch Challenge #92

Time for another Weekend Sketch Challenge! This week's sketch is hosted by Sharon, so if you'd like to participate (and we hope you will), head on over to Sharon's blog to see the sketch and add your link when you've created your card. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword WSC92.

For my card today, I dug deep into my scrap bin and pulled out some OLD Halloween paper from Stampin' Up. I loved this paper when it came out and I think I hoarded it! LOL I thought it would pair well with this brand new set from Our Craft Lounge, Spooky Nights. I thought the background paper mimicked the "eyes" that come in the stamp set. I added some stamped eyes, but they're hiding within the patterned paper! :)

Be sure to see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have created using today's sketch. Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

Taylored Expressions RELEASE DAY!

The new sets you've seen over the past couple of days are NOW AVAILABLE at Taylored Expressions!

For today's project, I'm using the Chillax set. I thought I'd create an invitation and place card for a Margarita party/Girls Night Out. I used the Berries & Cherries Key Ingredients for my creations.

Can you see one of the many reasons I LOVED this set? We have margarita glasses that are pretty close to the stamped image. . .minus the little man in the sombrero! LOL It's been a while since I've been able to enjoy a margarita, so I'm looking forward to being able to do that again! :)

If you love the sets you've seen, head on over to Taylored Expressions to get 'em! Taylor is also offering some bundles (Kick Back Beverage Bundle and Berries & Cherries Bundle)to go with each stamp set! You may want to check those out as well! For my card I used Aloha Sophia from Paper Pretties. I colored her in using Copic markers and then added some Cotton Candy Stickles to her skirt and flowers to make her extra sparkly! :)

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 2

Here we are at Day 2 of Sneak Peeks and today we're featuring the Chillax set from Taylored Expressions (available for purchase Wednesday, August 5th). This set is perfect for summertime or any celebration that might require a drink. . .adult or not! :)

For my project today, I used a treat box that Taylored Expressions will be offering as part of the Chillax Bundle. I turned the treat box upside down and made it into a matchbook. I made a little shaker for the window in the box using some Dew Drops. Inside the matchbook are a couple of pouches of Kool Aid Pink Lemonade. It's a nice little something to give someone just to let them know you're thinking of them or to make them smile when they've had a rough time of things. I've always liked this sentiment and there's a similar one in this set that has to do with limes! :) It may be my new favorite!

Today's sneak peek is of the Berries and Cherries set and coordinating Key Ingredients (available for purchase Wednesday, August 5th). The set is just adorable as are the Key Ingredients! I know you'll just fall in love with them. :)

For my project today, I used the Fancy Favor Bigz die from Stampin' Up to create my box full of Raspberry Truffles. The papers look so yummy themselves, don't they?

Happy Anniversary Verve!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!

For my card, I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try and one of the new sets coming in the August Verve release! This set is called Enjoy. . .and I know you will do just that! :) I used the Peony Nestabilities to frame the focal image and to create the little flower embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by! Now it’s time to hop on over to Janelle’s blog for a little more Verve-y goodness.

So Glad We're Friends

This month's Flower Soft Challenge was to use toppers. I used the Country Bicycle Topper for my creation. I've always loved this image and I have someone for whom this card is just perfect! I added some Heather, Baby Pink and Shamrock Green Flower Soft to the image. The basket on the front of the bike as well as the other groupings of flowers look so plush in real life. It's almost as if you could pick the flowers right off the card!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Flower Soft Team has come up with for today's challenge: AJ Otto, Carole Burrage, Deb Saaranen, Jennifer Buck, Niki Estes, Sharon Johnson, and Valerie Stangle.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
