VLV Beautiful You

I am recapping the second sketch for May over on the Viva la Verve Blog!  I hope you've found time to play along with the Viva la Verve Challenges!  We always love to see what you create!!  Maureen had a wonderful sketch out of which I created a shaker card!!  I don't know about you, but I LOVE shaker cards and don't make them enough!

I used the new Beautiful Things set along with the coordinating Beautiful Flowers Die Set.  The papers are from the Sunny Days Ahead Collection from Echo Park.  I used the new Copper Blush Sequin Mix for the shaker.

I stamped and embossed the flowers in white onto a light blue cardstock and then sponged the edges with Distress ink in Tumbled Glass.  You was stamped and embossed onto a piece of black cardstock die cut using the Flag It Die Set.  "Beautiful" was die cut out of gold cardstock and adhered across the flowers.  As a finishing touch, I tied some gold and white baker's twine across the card.

If you've come from visiting Betty on her amazing blog, you're in the right place!!  I've used the Love Everlasting set on my card along with the coordinating dies, Everlasting Heart.  I started by using the Week 1 Viva la Verve Sketch for my card.  I stamped and embossing the heart in white on vellum and then die cut another heart out of bold, polka-dotted patterned paper and layered them so the pattern was a little more toned down.

Deco Foil Fun with Taylored Expressions & Therm O Web!!

Good Morning!!  This week, the Taylored Expressions Creative Team is teaming up with our friends at Therm O Web !  Today, Jean and I are sharing our projects (I have 3 for you!)  PLUS — we’ve got two amazing prizes up for grabs…read on for all the details!  Details on how to enter can also be found on the Taylored Expressions blog and the Therm O Web blog.

I have three projects to share with you today using the Therm O Web products!  I had so much fun creating, I just couldn't stop!!  This first card uses Deco Foil in Lime and Opal along with the Leafy Vine Cutting Plate from TE!!  

I used the DecoFoil Toner Sheets to die cut the sentiment, butterflies and leaves and then ran them through my laminator with the foil.

My next two projects go together simply because for the second, I used the "left over" piece from the first!  If you notice the dots on the black cardstock of this card, I used the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen to add the dots and then foiled them with black foil.  

I LOVE using the foils with cutting plates that are adhered across a window I've cut in the card.  It gives such a nice touch!

This last card uses the left over piece from the previous project.  I put adhesive all over a piece of white cardstock and then used the foil from the previous card to get the "negative" image onto the card.  It ends up looking a little more distressed than the traditional way of foiling, but I like how it turned out!

Verve May Spotlight Hops - Day 3!

Welcome back to Day 3 of Verve's May Spotlight Hops!  It's an exciting day as there's new Verve in the store this morning! 2 beautiful new sets, 3 die sets and a sequin mix just released and they're all available to order right now. To celebrate our new release, we're putting on another blog hop!

Today's featured focus is designer's choice, so you might just sneak a peek at a whole bunch of must-haves!  If you've come from visiting Betty you're in the right place!!  Today I have two cards to share. This first one uses Beautiful Things along with the Beautiful Flowers Die Set and the Stitched Pennants Die Set!

The second card I have to share uses the Love Everlasting set along with the Everlasting Heart Die set and the Copper Blush Sequin Mix.  I stamped the heart repeatedly with an ombre ink.  I think it gave the card  toile look.  The little hearts and the right edge of the card are foiled in Rose Gold Foil.  I added some sequins to give a little more sparkle.  Next on today's hop is Christyne!  Thanks for stopping by all week and Happy Shopping!!
