    Verve December Diva Dare

The December Diva Dare is going on over at the Verve Blog.  Today is my day to share how I answered the dare.  This month's theme is A Handmade Christmas!
When I was thinking about what to create for the challenge, I started thinking of things that my kids could help with since they LOVE to create gifts. . .especially my two oldest. I came across these adorable ornaments at marthastewart.com made with a pipecleaner and buttons! They are SO simple and perfect for kids to create! I don't know about you, but I have a TON of buttons, so the girls had their pick and it was a great way to use up some surplus! ;)

So, my answer to the dare was the ornaments and some pretty packaging for the ornaments! I created the snowman box using For Keepsake Template, and the Santa box was created with the Box #2 Die from Stampin' Up. I stamped each box with the snowflakes from Glad Tidings. I stamped the snowflakes on the box in white craft ink, then I stamped some on white cardstock in Crumb Cake ink and die cut them using the Snowflake Tidings Die Set. The sentiment panel uses the frame from Tag Time, a sentiment from Bright Spirits and the Curvy Bookplate Die. The window in the snowman box was die cut using the Rounded Scallop Frame Die. The snowman is suspended from the lid of the box. I added tissue paper to the bottoms of both boxes.
I hope you've been inspired today!  Head on over to the Verve Blog to see even more inspiration from the rest of the Divas, and to find out how you could win some Verve!

Welcome to Day 1 of Sneak Peeks!  Today we are featuring calendar products!!  For my project today, I used the new Moka Nora along with the Mini Tear off Calendar plus Desk Acrylic Base.

Moka Nora is the newest in the Moka Collection created by Nancy McKinney.  It is a set of 7 for $7.95.  The Mini Tear off Calendar plus the Desk Acrylic Base is perfect for always having a calendar visible.  The calendar is small, and with the base it takes up no more room than a picture frame.  Create one year-round art piece or a different insert for every month of the year.

You can adhere the calendar itself to the outside of the acrylic stand and just create different inserts to put in the stand for each month, or keep one image for the whole year.  I prefer to keep my calendar inside the frame  with the insert since the little fingers in my house would find it impossible NOT to tear off page by page!  LOL  Taylored Expressions has created our own exclusive mini tear off calendar (2.25" x 3") that can be adhered to either acrylic base choice (sold separately) as well as being used on card and scrapbooking projects.  I colored Moka Nora with Copics and the patterned paper is from the Season's Greetings Collection from Echo Park.

Mini Tear Off Calendars 30 cents each or 10 for $2.50
Magnetic Acrylic Base or Desk Acrylic Base - $2.25 each

I hope you've enjoyed today's peeks!  Please hop around and visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen to see the different calendar products and some new stamps!

I had some time to play along with the latest Viva la Verve Challenge over the weekend.  The latest sketch is by sweet, sweet Sankari.  I used the Time To Blossom Plain Jane for my card along with some papers from the Homemade 6 Bean Collection from Jillibean Soup.

I added some Kiwi Pearl Pen around the sentiment along with some Doodlebug bling on the top and bottom of the card.  The corner punch is from EK Success.

Today is also the last day for the Black Friday SALE at Verve!!  If you haven't checked it out, follow the link!!  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you're enjoying your weekend!

For my tags, I used the reindeer and a sentiment from the Sparkle and Cheer set along with papers from the Season's Greetings Collection from Echo Park.  The tags themselves were created using the Labels 8 Nestabilities for the base, and the Take Note 3 Die for the patterned paper layer.  The tab that holds the ribbon was created by diecutting patterned paper with the Keeping Tabs Die

The reindeer were all stamped in dark brown ink and cut out by hand.  Once they were all cut out, I spritzed them with some Maya Mist.  Then I used a Red Pearl Pen to add a dot to each reindeer nose.  I just LOVED these pens!  They are so easy to use.  You can create different sizes of pearls depending on how much you put in one spot.  When they dry, they look just like a pearl and add such great texture to your project!

I also used the pearl pen to create the grouping of 3 pearls on the bottom corners of the tags.  I just LOVE the touch they add!  You can view a video about these pens that Taylor posted RIGHT HERE on her blog!

If you'd like tags that are already created for you and all you need to do is the decorating. . .then the Tags and Tag-a-longs are for you!  Tags, eyelets and Doodle Twine are all included in the package!

    Dashing Through the Mojo

Today's card uses the latest Mojo Monday Sketch.  I decided to use the Christmas In the Air set from Verve along with the coordinating Frosty Snowflakes Die Set.  The papers are from my scrap stash and I don't even remember what collection the patterned paper is from.

I started by die cutting the snowflakes, then I stamped and colored them with Copic markers.  I added some bling to the center of each.  I stamped the "frosty air" in white on the red cardstock strips.  As a finishing touch, I added stitching all around the border of the card.

Come play along with Mojo Monday!  It's a lot of fun!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Christmas in the Air (Verve Stamps); Ink- Frost White (Colorbox), Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Bazzill; Accessories- Frosty Snowflakes Die Set (Verve Stamps), bling (Doodlebug);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

    TESC Dance

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  I always LOVE Thanksgiving week.  I look forward to a short week of school and then LOTS of family time.  :)
Today, I have a card for you that uses the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge.  I thought this sketch worked well with the barre image from Life Is a Dance.  I stamped the barre and colored it with Copic markers.  Then I stamped the ballet slippers from the same set, colored those with Copics, cut them out and adhered them to the "barre" with foam tape.  The scallop was created using the Small Scallop Border Die

I stamped the sentiment and then die cut it using the Plain Oval Nestabilities.  I had to change the location of the sentiment oval for my card.  It fit better below rather than above the rectangular panel.  So, I guess you'd call this card an "interpretation" of the sketch!  :)  The papers are from the Life of the Party Collection from My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Life Is a Dance (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Life of the Party Collection (My Mind's Eye);  Accessories- Plain Oval Nestabilities, Plain Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copic markers, Baker's Twine (My Mind's Eye), Small Scallop Border Die (Taylored Expressions);  Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

    VLV Joy

It's Friday and there's a new Viva la Verve Challenge up!  This week's sketch is from Tosh and I just love it!  It made creating very easy!  I used the Bright Spirits set along with the Winter Fun Die Set.  I die cut the tree twice and scored one of them down the middle and glued it to the other to create a dimensional tree.  The papers are from the Season's Greetings Collection from Echo Park.

The snowflakes were die cut, scored and then covered in glitter.  I added some bling to the tree as well as some stitching around the card.  Come play along with the Viva la Verve Challenge!  You could win some Verve!  Thanks for stopping by today!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Bright Spirits (Verve Stamps); Ink- Frost White (Colorbox); Paper- Season's Greetings Collection (Echo Park); Accessories- Winter Fun Die Set (Verve Stamps), glitter (SU), bling (Doodlebug);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

    Verve After Party

Today there is an After Party post on the Verve blog in which all of the Divas picked one favorite creation from this past release.  I chose this card which uses the Glad Tidings set and a sentiment from Bright Spirits.  The newly released Snowflake Tidings Die Set coordinates with the snowflakes from the Glad Tidings set.

For my card, I stamped the largest snowflake in two different inks onto the card base.  Then I die cut smaller snowflakes and stamped those in the same colors and mounted them onto the card base with foam tape.  I added pearls to the centers of each snowflake.

You can head over to the Verve Blog to see all of the favorites!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Glad Tidings, Bright Spirits (Verve Stamps); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Ocean Tides, Enchanted Evening (PTI); Paper- Choice Snow White and Choice Buttercream (Taylored Expressions), Enchanted Evening (PTI); Accessories- Snowflake Tidings Die Set (Verve Stamps), pearls (Want2Scrap); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

The card I have for you today uses the Time to Blossom Plain Jane.  I went super simple with this card by using only an embossing folder, some Copic markers and some Stardust Stickles.   I love the hand drawn-looking frame of this stamp.  I used a pale blue Copic marker to shade the edges of that frame to give it a little dimension.

Everything you've seen this week is NOW AVAILABLE in the Verve Store!  Thanks for visiting and Happy Shopping!
