Fun with Felt

Hi there!  I have a fun project to share today!  I had fun creating something a little different for me, so I hope you'll enjoy the finished product.  I've been seeing all of these adorable felt plushies everywhere, but I've never created any, so I decided to give it a go.  I used some of my favorite Sack It Dies from Taylored Expressions along with some fabulous TE Felt!!

I decided on using the Sack It - Crab, Sack It - Frog, Sack It - Chick and the Sack It - Lamb.  I thought these would be adorable little characters to start and could be a good range of colors.  With all but the frog, I also used the Stitched Circle Stacklets for the body.  For the crab, I used Flamingo Felt to die cut all of the pieces.

The frog was created using Split Pea and Mustard.  The eyes and mouth were created with Espresso.

For the lamb, I used Marshmallow along with Khaki and Cotton Candy.  The eyes, mouth and feet were created using Espresso.

My last little friend was the chick.  For the chick I used Mustard, Marshmallow and Carrot.  In case you were wondering, I didn't have any black felt, so for the chick and the crab's eyes and the crab's mouth, I used Marshmallow and then colored the pieces with a black Sharpie!  LOL  The things we crafters do in a pinch!  :)

All of these were stuffed with pieces of a plastic grocery bag and hot glued together.  The grocery bag makes a little crinkle sound when you squeeze them!  These were SO much fun to make and I will definitely make some more to add to the collection!  My kids have already made their claims on these!  LOL  I hope you've been inspired to get out your felt and create something!  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

April Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop!!

It's time for Verve's monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop!

There are TWO $30 gift vouchers to the Verve store up for grabs this month and two ways to win! First, comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) for an entry in the first giveaway. Then to be entered into our challenge prize drawing, go get inky and link up your take on the challenge. You have until May 5 to link up. Feel free to play along with the challenge as many times as you like. Verve stamps aren't required to play, but we do smile a little brighter when we see them!

A little tropical flair is in the air for inspiration this month. Bright pinks, aquas, golden tones and a touch of white promise easy breezy days ahead. There's no script for this inspiration... go floral, keep it modern, follow our color pattern or forge your own path, just show us your tropical chic inspired creations.

For my card, I used the Simply Amazing set along with the coordinating Simply Daisies Die Set and the Amazing Adjectives Die Set.  I totally took my inspiration from the fabulous colors in the photo!  Those colors make me happy!  Instead of using the flower stamp images, I just used the dies to make "starbursts" of color on the card.  For the gold lettering, I took inspiration from that gold mirror on the wall in the pic.  I also used some gold discs from the Gold Glam Shaker Mix to add more gold to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you play along!!

Fun Blooms!!

It's RELEASE DAY at Taylored Expressions!  Everything we've been sharing with you this week is NOW AVAILABLE in the TE Store!!  I have one more project to share with you before you're off to shop!  :)  I made a set of little flower-shaped notecards using the NEW Bloomin' Stacklets 3 and Bloomin' Accessories!

I started by diecutting folded Sugar Cube cardstock, with the die not cutting the fold.  Then I die cut the flowers in full and attached it on the front of the card base I created.  I had fun changing up the colors and elements within each flower using Bloomin' Accessories.

The sentiments are all from the Simply Stamped Peonies set and were stamped and embossed in white on Oreo cardstock.

I also changed up the leaf configuration on each card, just to make each one a little different.

Taking It Clean and Simple

Welcome back for Day 2 of the April sneak peeks at Taylored Expressions!  I have two more cards to share with you today!  Both of these cards happen to be clean and simple. . .not lots of embellishments on layers.  The first uses the NEW Clocked Out Grumplings Stamp & Die Combo.  If you love our previous Grumplings sets, you'll love this one as well.

Adorable little grumpy animals with snarky sentiments, who doesn't love that?  LOL  I stamped, colored and die cut the little grumpling using the coordinating die.  I sponged a little background on the card base and adhered the grumpling with foam tape.  The bottom of the card was embossed using the Corrugated Embossing Folder.

The second project I have to share today uses the NEW Sky High - Airplane along with a sentiment from Plot Twist.  I started by creating a cloud template using the Cloud Border Die and sponged clouds onto the card base.

I die cut the airplane out of Candy Corn, Oreo, Earl Grey, Cherry Pop and Sugar Cube and assembled all the pieces.  The awesome sentiment is from the NEW Plot Twist set and I think it goes very well with the airplane!  The last little touch was a few Build a Scene Sequins.
