MFT Set in Stone

I can't remember the last time I played along with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club.  I saw this week's sketch and I had to play along.  I used the Pure Innocence Prehistoric Girl set to create a sort of Valentine.  I thought the image and theme would pair well with the Sugar Chic Collection from Heidi Swapp. 

I stamped and colored the image using Copic markers.  I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics to create the little heart embellishment.  I punched a circle out of one of the patterned papers and attached it behind the clear button.  Finally I tied some hemp cord around the bottom of the card.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Happy As Happy Gets

I needed to create a special birthday card and I wanted to use the adorable Feeling Froggy set from My Favorite Things.  Since I was using an MFT set, I thought I'd also participate in this week's Wednesday Stamp Club.  Having a sketch to start with makes creating so much easier sometimes, don't you think?

I stamped the adorable Pure Innocence girl and colored her with Copic markers.  The papers are from Doodlebug as well as the Ladybug Twine.  I thought this sentiment made for a great birthday card.  Hopefully the recipient will think so too!  :)

More Packaged Gifts

It has been REALLY busy around here, so I haven't been able to post anything new.  I did have these projects that I created for teacher gifts and class treats.

Remember that Homemade Peppermint Bark we made?  Well, I packaged more of it up in these ADORABLE little Santa Boxes!  The Santa Box was created using the Cover-All Template from My Time Made Easy.  I packaged up the Peppermint Bark in cello bags and tied it with a ribbon.  Then, I put some filler in the box and then the cello bag.  I used the Wonderful Words:  Holiday Die Collection from Papertrey Ink for the "Merry".  These packages were a big hit. . .and really not that hard to put together!

The second project I have to show you are just little treats bags I created for my daughters' classes.  It was just a piece of cardstock folded over the little bag of Holiday Skittles, stapled and a snowflake embellishment added.  I punch circles using a 2 1/2" circle punch and then die cut them using the Let It Snowflake Dienamic from My Favorite Things.  I used the "negative" cut from the die and added glue to the center with some glitter.  The sentiment is from the Sending You a Little Christmas Pure Innocence stamp set.

Celebrate Today

I don't always get to participate in the challenges at Splitcoast like I used to, so it's a great day for me when I get the chance!  :)  Last week's Ways To Use It Challenge was to not use brown, black or white ink on your card. . ."embrace your colored inks".   I almost NEVER stamp this way, so this was a nice challenge for me.  :)

I used the Birthday Buddies and Pretty Phrases sets from Paper Smooches for my card.  I stamped the fish in Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise and Ocean Tides ink.  I added a couple Dew Drops for "bubbles".  The sentiment is stamped in Ocean Tides ink.

Bloomin' Good Day

I was organizing my photos for what I post on my blog and I realized there were some things that I never posted here!  A few months ago, I was the Fabulous Friend at My Favorite Things and created a couple of projects that I haven't yet shared here.  Today I'm going to share with you a little flowerpot card I created using the Bloomin' Good Day Pure Innocence set.  (unfortunately that set seems to be out of stock right now, so I just linked you up to ALL of the PI sets!)

I used a Flower Pot Kit that I downloaded from the Silhouette online store and cut it out with my Silhouette to create the card.  I used the Rolled Flower Die-namics to create the flowers.  I also used the Open Scallop Border Die-namic for the top of the flower pot. I added some pearls to the centers of the flowers and lined the card with some white gel pen faux stitching.  The image was colored using Copic markers.

Sweet Little Bug

I was able to play along with the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  You can find the sketch and thread HERE.  I used one of the new Pure Innocence sets that I just ADORE!  It's the Pure Innocence Ladybug!  Big surprise, huh?  LOL  When I saw this set I just HAD to have it.  The sentiments are perfect for me, especially since I call my kids my "sweet little bugs"!  :)  Can you imagine how many sweet little ladybug cards my daughters will find in their lunch boxes?  :)  Too cute!

I paper pieced the ladybug suit and colored the image in using Copic markers.  I couldn't fit the sentiment "on" the card, so it's hanging off a bit.  :)  The little embellishments were little flowers I found in the Target dollar bin ages ago.  I just punched little circles out of white and pink cardstock and layered them along with the little flower gems.

Tu Tu Cute

I have had this adorable stamp since it was released at My Favorite Things and sadly, this is the first time it has seen ink.  This is the Ballet Millie set and I am just in love with it!  She reminds me of Angelina Ballerina, a favorite cartoon of my kids.  As soon as I saw this set I knew it would be perfect for so many creations for my girls.  I also used the Jumbo Ric Rac Die-namic as well as the Rolled Rose Die-namic.  I colored Millie in with Copic markers and added some glitter for sparkle.  The focal piece was cut with Plain Circle Nestabilities and the Lacey Circles Nestabilities.

Sweet Sunny Sunday

Happy Easter!  Hope you're having a beautiful day full of sunshine!  We're spending time with family today, so that's sunshine in itself for me.  :)  I was able to stamp a quick card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch.  I just LOVE it when a card comes together quickly!  I used the Sunshiney Day Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things.  Such a cute stamp!

Snow Days

This week has just been CRAZY with the snow! Savannah has had off school (and Arwen off preschool) all week. They called a two hour delay for today, but I woke up to find out school is closed again! So, this card seemed only fitting! The only thing is, there is SO MUCH snow that the kids haven't even been outside to play in it. It's so deep, they'd get lost! LOL


For this card I used one of the Pure Innocence cuties from My Favorite Things, Snow Day. These images are just ADORABLE! I've been able to pick up a few before they sold out. I paper pieced the hat, coat and boots using some paper from the Butterflies and Blossoms Stack from Die Cut With a View. The large pink panel is Melon Mambo cardstock stamped in Melon Mambo ink with the Polka Dot Basics II set from Papertrey Ink. I added a little faux stitching for some interest.

Flurry of Love

I finally got to ink up this adorable image I got from My Favorite Things called Flurry of Love. It's from the Pure Innocence line. This particular set was always sold out, so when I happened to see it in the store the one day I snatched it up real quick!

I used some My Mind's Eye paper from the Ooh La La line along with some Bermuda Bay cardstock. I added some faux stitching with a white gel pen along the left side of the image. Doesn't this image just make you smile? So, so cute!

I just LOVED Beate's Inspiration Piece for today. I just love the clean and neat look of that room. . .love it! I decided to use the Who's That E-Girl set from My Favorite Things. I just got it and I just love it! It's perfect for this cyber stamping world of ours! :) I chose to use Pumpkin Pie and Baja Breeze. The ribbon is a little piece I had left in my stash from Beate a long while ago.

Let's Make Cupcakes

This card is for two challenges, both by Taylor! It's for Taylor's Friday Cupcake Sketch Challenge, and for her Dirty Dare Cupcake Challenge. I used the What's Up, Cupcake set from My Favorite Things that Michelle of Stamper's Dream sent me, and the Lined Paper Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms. When I saw the sketch, the tilted panel made me think of a piece of paper (or list) that got stuck to the card. So, I used the Lined Paper Backgrounder and made a shopping list for the cupcakes.

On another note, I've been asked to include the dimensions of my finished card in my card recipes. I will try to remember to do that from now on. For past cards, most of my cards are the standard 4.25"X5.5". If it's a square card, it's always 4.25" square since that still fits in a standard envelope. Sometimes I'll create 3"x6" cards, but they're usually in response to a challenge asking for that specific size. Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jillian challenged us to Make It New. . .to dust off some old stamps and make them new again. The set By the Seashore from My Favorite Things was one of the FIRST sets Christie sent me when I joined the Paper Pretties Design Team. I LOVED this set and I used it quite a bit when I first got it, but unfortunately, it hasn't seen ink since. So, I decided to dust it off and make a card for Jessie! I did a lot of sponging making clouds and the glow of the sun. I hope she likes it! These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

Here's a very simple card I made using the Ride 'Em Cowgirl set from My Favorite Things that I got in my Paper Pretties box. I say simple because I kept trying to add embellishments, but nothing looked right. Anything I tried to add made the card look too busy. . .maybe because of the patterned paper. That big flower is like an embellishment all by itself. The only thing I really added was the fringe. The sentiment is actually on the inside of the card as you can see from the second picture.

I wanted to let you know that my mother-in-law is in a regular room now instead of the ICU. She's still having a tough time of it with her recovery, but at least she's out of the danger zone. Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Christie challenged us to make a shaker card. It has been a LONG time since I've made a shaker card. I decided to use the Serenity Now set from My Favorite Things. I had these flower embellishments that I picked up in the Target dollar bin and never used them. I thought they'd be fun to put in the shaker with a little glitter. I stamped the image on white cardstock and carefully cut around the top part of the image with my craft knife. The image is colored with Regal Rose and Certainly Celery markers. Prettie Pajama Party

Last night was the Prettie Pajama Party at Paper Pretties. Here are the cards that I made for the challenges.

The first was for the Sketch challenge. I used the Ride 'Em Cowgirl set from My Favorite Things that came in my Paper Pretties box. I haven't used my Apple Cider Designer Paper in a while. . .and I LOVE that stuff! I thought it would work well with the western theme. I cut a strip of cardstock to make the fringe on top. I seem to use that fringe idea a lot lately. LOL The cowgirl is colored using ink pads and a blender pen.


The second card was for the Monochromatic Challenge. I love Blue Bayou and it just happened to work well with the striped patterned paper from the Baby Boy Nana's Nursery Stack. You can't really tell from the picture because I couldn't get a good picture with the card propped up, but the coffee mug is actually on the inside of the card. I punched a layered window in the card front and paper pierced around it to frame the mug that's on the inside. This set is the Look Who's Perky set from Paper Pretties.



The last card was for the No Layer Card Challenge. I LOVE no layer cards. In fact, those were ALL I ever used to make! It's amazing how they've become such a challenge. I'm always worried they're too plain. I know a lot of the other players last night thought it was a challenge too, so I'm sure I'm not the only one! This card uses the Flutter Sophia set that was released last night at Paper Pretties. The card is coloring using Stampin' Up markers and a bit of an Aquapainter.

Howdy

Here's a card using supplies from my February Paper Pretties subscription box. The set is Ride 'Em Cowgirl from My Favorite Things, which hasn't been released yet. The layout is Jen's Sketch For You To Try. I just flipped it to fit the image. . .hope that was allowed! :) I colored using Copic markers. I wanted to add some hemp twine on the card, but couldn't find a good place to wrap it around, so I ended up stitching it on the left and right side. The paper is Heidi Grace from the Wild Daisy Rd. Collection.

I can't believe it's Sunday already! The weekend just FLEW by! I need to get some serious laundry done today! Yikes! It IS nice and sunny here, though! Still cold, but at least it's bright and sunny. Pixie Pouch

This was for last week's Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS, to make a Pixie Pouch. This is the first time I've ever made one of these. They are so simple and so cute. I can't believe I've never seen them before this challenge. I used the Serenity Now set by My Favorite Things that I got in my Paper Pretties subscription box. Instead of filling this pouch with candy, I opted for some soothing tea to go along with the theme. I used the Word Window punch for the sentiment, but I had to "extend" it a little because the sentiment was a little longer than the window. I just slid the punch over a little and punched more off the end so the sentiment would fit. I hope that makes sense. I colored using my Prismacolor markers. Thanks for stopping by today! Take a Deep Breath

Ever have one of these days? I seem to be having them a little more frequently since baby #3. LOL I made this with the Serenity Now set from My Favorite Things, which isn't available quite yet. I got mine in my Paper Pretties subscription box. These colors are not my normal choice of colors, but I really like how they compliment this set! Great choices, Christie! I added the Pumpkin Pie piece of cardstock as a matte, then I cut all along the edges to make it look like fringe. I ruffled the fringe a bit to give the effect that "stress" was on it's way out.
