Verve October Diva Dare

The October Diva Dare is happening over on the Verve Blog.  Today is my day to share my answer to the challenge.  This month's challenge is called Tag, You're It!!  Head on over to the Verve Blog for more details on the challenge and to find out how to win!

 

I decided to use a tag on a card for the challenge.  I used the new Chevron Love and Holiday Treats sets.  The tag image is from Holiday Treats and I just love the chevron heart from Chevron Love.  The papers are from the Harvest Lane Collection from Simple Stories. The tag was die cut using the Tagged Rectangle Die. 

After I die cut, stamped and assembled the tag, I also die cut a heart from the Heart Quartet Die that fit perfectly in the center of the large heart.  The ribbon is from the Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection.  I added a little sparkler to finish off the tag and attached it to the card.  The tag can be taken off the card and used on a gift or maybe even for a bookmark.  I hope you've been inspired to create!!   Thanks for stopping by today!!

You're a Classic

Have you seen this month's Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions?  This month's set is called Instant Love and it's perfect for all you vintage lovers!  I created a feminine card using what I consider 50's and 60's colors.  When I think of a 50's diner or a Sock Hop, I think of pink and turquoise. I used papers from the Vintage Bliss Collection from Simple Stories. 

I remember when I got my first "boom box" that you could record onto cassette from the radio.  My dad was a HUGE Doo Wop fan, so the oldies station was always playing on the radio when we'd be in my dad's truck.  He'd sing a long with every song and I LOVED listening to him sing.  Once I got my boom box, I used to listen to the oldies station too and hit "record" every time I'd hear a song that I liked or knew from my dad singing along.  LOL  So, this cassette on my card is my "oldies tape" from the radio.  :)   I used the coordinating Remember When Die Set on my card as well as the Medium Scallop Border Die and the Small and Medium Doily Dies.

Verve October Spotlight Hops - Day 4

 I hope you've enjoyed all of the peeks of the new products from Verve this week!  They are NOW AVAILABLE in the Verve Store!  Today I have a card for you using the Chevron Love set.   The butterfly image from the set coordinates with the All Aflutter Die Set. 

On my card I heat embossed the butterflies in four different color embossing powders.  Two of the butterflies are stamped and embossed on the cardstock, while one was die cut and then stamped and embossed.  A finished the card with some ribbon from the Spring Fling Ribbon Collection.

Joy

I was playing around with products from the latest release from Taylored Expressions and I came up with this card.  I used the Christmas Doodles set along with one of the Christmas Treat Toppers Dies.  I was really drawn to the flourish in the Christmas Doodles set and wanted to feature that on a card.  I stamped it twice and colored it.  Originally, my plan was to stamp a sentiment from the set, but then I looked at the Christmas Treat Toppers Dies and decided I liked the "Joy" die. 

As a finishing touch, I used the Mix & Match Bows dies to finish the card.  The bow was die cut using Red Hot Felt.  To add a touch of sparkle, I added some Stardust Stickles.  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you've been inspired to create!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Verve October Spotlight Hops - Day 3

 

Welcome back for Day 3 of the Verve October Spotlight Hops!!  Today we're featuring the Unto Us set along with the Reindeer Fun Die Set.  This is another beautiful holiday set that I know you'll love!  The fonts are beautiful and the coordinating images in the set add such a nice touch. 

For my card I used the 'Tis the Season Collection from Echo Park.  I stamped the snowflake image from the set onto the black cardstock and heat embossed them in white.  The frame image from the set coordinates with the Classy Label Die.  I die cut the green cardstock and then stamped it with the coordinating image, then the sentiment.  The reindeer were die cut using the Reindeer Fun Die Set and then stamped and embossed.  The ribbon is from the Truly, Madly, Deeply Collection.

Verve October Spotlight Hops - Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Verve Spotlight Hops!  Today we're featuring the Holiday Treats set along with the Cup of Cheer Die Set. Holiday Treats is perfect for holiday cards and treats!  I used the tag image from the set to create a tag for my card.  The tag image coordinates perfectly with the Tagged Rectangle Die.  The papers I used on this card are from the Very Merry Christmas Collection from Echo Park. 

I die cut the coffee cup using the Cup of Cheer Die Set and then stamped the image.  The ribbon is from the Autumn Elements Ribbon Collection.  The tag could easily be used to dress up a package or even a gift of coffee.  Holiday Treats is a great set for those added touches!  :)

Verve October Spotlight Hops - Day 1

Welcome to our October 2013 Spotlight Hops!  We're so excited to preview Verve's newest stamp sets and dies with you! Over the next few days, the Divas will be shining their Verve spotlights on a different set each day, so stay tuned for a fun series of inspirational hops... and PRIZES, too! Everything previewed this week will be available in the Verve online store Friday night, 10/25.

Today we're featuring the Chevron Love set along with the Heart Quartet Die Set.  This is an adorable set!!  :)  The Jotted Heart Die coordinates with the chevron heart in this set.  I die cut and stamped the large heart.  The large heart was stamped twice. . .once on patterned paper to fill the center.  I used some papers from the Knee High Collection from Basic Grey for my card.  I also used the Award Banner Trim Die for my card.  I used the "scrap" circles that came from diecutting the banner as little dots on the card that I added a rhinestone to.  I die cut the little hearts in different patterned papers using the Heart Quartet Die Set.

TE & Tombow Halloween Hop

Good morning!  Today some of the Taylored Expressions Team is teaming up with the TombowUSA Team and bringing you some Halloween projects!!  I used the Too Cute To Spook set from Taylored Expressions along with the Tag Pocket Die.  I folded over the top of the tag to create a little "envelope" type thing.  I loved using the Tombow Mono Adhesive for my project.  I went on very easily and I didn't have any problems with it coming apart.  As you can see with the open flap, I used the Fastener Tabs, which I LOVE!!  It made it so easy to create a little pocket that you can close securely with velcro. 

I also used the Secondary Dual Brush Markers to color my image.   I liked coloring with these markers.  For areas that I wanted a lighter version of the color, I used a blender pen to take color from the marker and then color it to the image.  I really enjoyed using these Tombow products and I thought they worked well with my TE products.  I will definitely continue to use them!!
