Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jackie Pedro challenged the Prettie Girls to create an ATC (Artist Trading Card) and then add it to a card. I've only ever made a couple of ATCs, but I like making them. They make it SO EASY when you add it to a card. All I did was add a couple of score lines and a few brads and my card was finished!

I used the Snowflake Kisses set from Paper Pretties for my ATC. This card is on its way to Jessica. Sending her a big old MWAH! Make sure you check the other Prettie Girl blogs to see what they've come up with for this challenge! Oh and today's the last day to sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club in order to receive Gliding By Sophia before anyone else! Tomorrow, January 1st Sending You Love Sophia will be available for purchase! Today it's Julie's turn to issue a challenge! And she's offering BLOG CANDY if you play along! Go check it out! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Snowflake Kisses (Paper Pretties); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- DCWV, white (Georgia-Pacific), cream (The Paper Company); Accessories- brads (Making Memories), paper piercer, Copic markers, grosgrain ribbon (Darice), horizontal slot punch (SU); Finished card measures 4.25" square

It felt good to make a card today that wasn't holiday or winter! I've had this Flutterfly Friends set from Stampendous for a while and have only used it once, I think. Isn't it adorable? I have adored it since Michelle at Stamper's Dream sent it to me. You can find all sorts of adorable Stampendous stamps and accessories at Stamper's Dream!

I colored in the butterfly with Certainly Celery and a Tea Rose Copic marker. I used Water Dew Drops to embellish. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you're having a wonderful day! Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jillian challenged us to make a card and put a hole in it. . .we weren't allowed to fill the hole with brads or eyelets. So, I punched three holes in the bottom right of my card, but I put some Dew Drops on the inside of the card, so that when the card's closed, the holes are filled! :) I hope that still counts! LOL This card is on its way to Jodi. I hope she likes it! I used the Glidin' By set from Paper Pretties. She's one of the Stamp of the Month Club stamps! If you're interested in getting her now, sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club before the end of December, otherwise you'll have to wait until February! Be sure and check out what the other Prettie Girls have come up with for this challenge! I'm sure they're all fabulous!

Christmas Eve is a BIG day in our family, so things are pretty crazy around here right now. :) A good crazy, of course! I should already be dressed and ready to go, but I'm not. . .so I better get going! Have a wonderful day and if you're traveling, travel safely! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Glidin' By (Paper Pretties); Paper- Holiday Treasures, Kiwi Kiss, Red Riding Hood (SU); Ink- Tuxedo Black, Versamark (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, hole punch, Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), ribbon (SU), ticket corner punch (SU); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Season's Greetings

I was trying to use up smaller pieces of cardstock that I had in my scrap pile and I decided to make this placecard or tag. It could really be used for either one. I used the Christmas Stamp Ensemble from JustRite. You can find this and many other JustRite items at Stamper's Dream! The Christmas Stamp Ensemble is used with the 3 1/4" Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III. I used Stickles for the berries and to line the card/tag. Simple and quick and a great way to use up smaller pieces of cardstock! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Christmas Stamp Ensemble (JustRite); Paper- Pure Poppy (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Versamark (Tsukineko); Accessories- holly punch (Martha Stewart, gold embossing powder, gold and Christmas Red Stickles.

Monogram Card Sets

I decided to make a few card sets as gifts using Lauren's My Timeless Template, All Boxed Up. It sure does make for a beautiful gift and it's very simple to put together. I think choosing the paper took the most time! However, the card box didn't always look like this. LOL There is a little story that goes with this pink one, and I thought I'd share it with you. I KNOW you'll appreciate it! So, at the time I was finishing up this set, I was a little pressed for time because my mother-in-law (who the gift was for) was due to arrive in about 15 minutes. Because I didn't have much time, I made the outside of the card box VERY simple. . .like this:

I was so proud of myself that I finished the whole set in minimal time and I went to show my husband the finished product. All he heard was a "You've GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" yelled from the kitchen area. He, of course, thought something happened with one of kids and came running. Instead of finding one of the kids in a mess, he found me holding this:

YEP! Black ink smudged all over the front! I KNOW you're all appreciating this right now because I know you've all been there at one point too, right? So, that's how the scallop-bordered piece of cardstock ended up along the left side of the box! I actually DO like it better, so it ended up a fortunate accident!

My mother-in-law LOVED her gift and all was well! I also made a set in blue for another recipient. I hope she likes it too! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're staying warm! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Borders and Corner Circle (PTI), Special Occasions Font (JustRite); Ink- Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze (SU), Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), patterned paper from Boy and Girl Nursery Stack (DCWV); Accessories- scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch (SU), Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers folder (Provocraft), organdy ribbon (Darice), All Boxed Up Template (My Timeless Template, PTI)

Peas!

Today's card is very similar to yesterday's, at least in layout and Cuttlebugging. :) I'm just really loving this Holly Cuttlebug folder, but in order to see it well, the image always has to be in the corner. For this card, I added some Kraft cardstock and gold edging. I used the adorable Joyful Peas stamp from Penny Black. You can find both the peas stamp and the Cuttlebug folder at Stamper's Dream! What's even better is that they're both on sale! Yes, all holiday stamps and seasonal Cuttlebug folders are on sale now! No coupon code needed! So head on over to Stamper's Dream and see what else is on sale! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Joyful Peas (Penny Black); Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Purely Poppy, Kraft (PTI); Accessories- Holly Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), paper piercer, Real Red, Garden Green and Bashful Blue markers (SU), gold metallic marker (Rose Art), gold brads (Making Memories); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Simply Special Wishes

I always love challenges that ask you to use stamps for something other than they were meant. That could mean using part of the stamp in a different way, or in this case, using it for an occasion other than it was intended. I used the Simply Special set from Paper Pretties for this card. It comes with a sentiment that reads "You make even the simple things special." I suppose that sentiment would have still worked for this Christmas card with a "Merry Christmas" on the inside, but I chose a different sentiment all together. I decided that maybe by coloring the image in Christmas colors and using the Holly Cuttlebug folder on the card base, it would really make this look like a Christmas card. This is one of my favorite Paper Pretties images (other than the Sophias, of course!) and I wanted to see if I could use it as a holiday stamp as well. A gardener would probably really love this. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your last minute holiday shopping and organizing is going well! I'm still working on that myself! :) Have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Simply Special (Paper Pretties), sentiment (SU); Paper- Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, Christmas Red Stickles; Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), Key Tag punch, Old Olive wide grosgrain (SU), Plain circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Holly Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jackie challenged the Prettie Girls to make a card using plaid. I like plaid, but I don't use it very often. I had forgotten all about this pink plaid glitter paper that was in my one DCWV glitter stack. I pulled out some old Purely Pomegranate ribbon and cardstock too. It seemed to work well with all of the pinks in the plaid.

This card is on its way to Danielle. Be sure and check out what the other Prettie Girls have created for this challenge!

Bless Your Little Hearth

You all know it's no secret how much I LOVE the Changito stamps! When I saw this one at Stamper's Dream, I just HAD to have it. How adorable! Michelle has a great selection of Stampendous stamps in the store. . .both holiday and non-holiday. So, if you love the Changitos as much as I do. . .or the Bees (so cute too!), head on over and check them out!

For this card I used some Wild Asparagus paper that I've had for a while. This image always looks so warm and homey to me and I thought these patterned papers worked well with that feel. Thanks for stopping by today! Trim the Tree

The nice thing about posting different cards almost every day is that lately, they've all been Christmas cards. . .and each one adds another to my Christmas card pile! I think this is the first year I haven't mass produced Christmas cards because I had enough in my stash to send out! That's unbelievable to me. So, each person will get a different card from me. Kind of neat, huh? I may have to make a few at the end to fill out some unexpected or last minute cards. We'll see, but so far, so good!

This is the Trim the Tree Sophia from Paper Pretties. This image always reminds me of Savannah. She's always dancing around the house and LOVES to wear dresses. I just imagine this is how she would decorate the tree! LOL That is, if she wasn't in a rush to put on an ornament before her sister! :) Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Trim the Tree (Paper Pretties); Paper- Christmas Glitter Stack (DCWV), Pure Poppy (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, paper piercer, Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Old Olive grosgrain (SU), Christmas Red Stickles; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Be Merry

Here's a simple little card I made using the Dancing Stockings stamp from The Artful Stamper. You can find it at Stamper's Dream. I stamped the image in Versamark ink and embossed it in black. I then watercolored the image to give it a touch of color. The stars have gold glitter glue on them. To complete the image, I used a ruler to draw a box around the image leaving space for the star and for the sentiment. I thought it made the image look more grounded. Don't forget that Stamper's Dream has gift certificates! If you're still looking for a gift for a stamper, these would make GREAT gifts!

On a personal note, I was able to get a good picture of the kids for the Christmas cards. It took a while, but there were a couple where they were all looking at the camera and somewhat smiling. :) I'm excited that I can now send out my Christmas cards! LOL Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Sunday!

ETA: Sweet Gabriela left a comment that it was unfair of me to say I finally got a good picture for our Christmas cards without posting the picture, so here ya go, Gabriela! :) Thanks for asking! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Dancing Stockings (The Artful Stamper), Warm Words (SU); Ink- Versamark (Tsukineko), Old Olive, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Bordering Blue (SU); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Basic Black (SU); Accessories- gold glitter glue, ruler, Aquapainter; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Let It Snow

Here's a card using Lauren's Sketch. I used the Home Sweet Home set from Taylored Expressions. I woke up today and just wasn't motivated to stamp anything. . .and that's rare! I was browsing some of my favorite blogs when I found Lauren's sketch and it inspired me to stamp. So, thank you, Lauren!

I don't know if it's the weather or the fact that my husband has been away from home a lot lately with work, but the days just seem to drag on and on. . .but I still don't seem to get much done! LOL I've been meaning to get the kids together and take a nice photo to send out in our Christmas cards, but in between the playing and naps, the timing just hasn't worked out yet! :) That IS my goal for today, though. The other thing I'd like to do is go to the concert my husband is conducting tonight, but sometimes it's more stressful going with the kids than just staying home. My two year old just doesn't like to sit still, so I'd spend most of the concert keeping her quiet or taking her to another room so as not to disturb the audience. I almost think it's worth the chance to get out though! LOL I hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Home Sweet Home (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Paper- Christmas Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions); Accessories- Martha Stewart scallop border punch, Copic markers, Super Jumbo circle punch, Mega Scallop circle punch (Marvy Uchida); ribbon from Christmas Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Simple Merry Christmas

Yesterday in the mail, I received some really cool Cuttlebug folders that I ordered from Stamper's Dream. I got the Frills set and the Just My Type set. I think I got the last Just My Type set, though. :( Sorry! What's so cool about these folders is that they are made up of 5 skinny border folders! So, imagine the normal A2 Cuttlebug embossing folder, but instead of the whole folder measuring 4.25x5.5, there are 5 skinny folders
that together make up that size. I hope that makes sense. I used one of the "strip" folders for the border on this card. After I embossed the edge, I cut around the embossing to give that nice finished edge.
The stamps are Poinsettia Christmas from Verve. I just love these poinsettias with white and gold. It's so clean and simple. I used a metallic marker to edge the focal piece in gold. I think cutting out the one poinsettia took the most time on this card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend is off to a great start! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Poinsettia Christmas (Verve Stamps); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Red Riding Hood (SU), Ripe Avocado (PTI); Accessories- Frills Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), gold metallic marker (Rose Art), gold ribbon (PTI), gold stickles; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Having a Gray Day

It's time again for the monthly Dream Team Challenge at Stamper's Dream! This month's theme was Having a Gray Day. . .to make a card using gray tones, add a splash of one color and a bit of bling. I decided to add a bit of Regal Rose for my color. I used to LOVE gray and pink color combinations, so I thought I'd go back to an old favorite. I put a little bit of bling on the cat's collar. The Black Cat stamp is by JudiKins and can be found at Stamper's Dream.

Michelle is giving away some Dreamy Treats! All you have to do is link your creation in the comments on Michelle's blog. If you upload to Splitcoaststampers, use the keyword SDDC3. We can't wait to see your creations! In the meantime, you can check out what the rest of the Dream Team came up with for this challenge:

One of the challenges from our last Prettie Pajama Party was to make a card using pink, blue and white. I used Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze as my pink and blue. I just LOVE them together. The mitten image is from the Snowflake Kisses set from Paper Pretties. I used the Snow Dots Cuttlebug folder for the background. The mittens were colored using a blender pen.

Votive Wine Glass Shade

Yesterday's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS was to make a Vellum Wine Glass Votive Shade. I haven't made one of these in a while. I pulled out my Season's Sweetings set from Taylored Expressions and thought I'd use the little cuppie all tangled in trimmings. Unfortunately, the cuppie looks a little washed out on the vellum, but I was afraid of making the face too dark. The "stickled" lights really look adorable when the battery operated tealight shines from inside. For the trim, I punched out a punch of circles and attached them to the underside of the shade. Then I coated the outside edge with a layer of Platinum Liquid Pearls. It looks nice and shiny. I couldn't find a small enough wine glass, so I ended up using a small vase that worked just fine. If you'd like to make one of these adorable little shades, you can follow the link above and find the pattern for the lamp shade! Have fun! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Season's Sweetings (Taylored Expressions); Paper- Basic Black (SU), vellum, red from Christmas Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions), green from Halloween Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Christmas Red Stickles, Lime Stickles, circle punch, Super Jumbo circle punch, Mega scallop circle punch (Marvy Uchida), Liquid Pearls in Platinum.

MWAH!

At our last Prettie Pajama Party, I challenged the girls to make a card or project that was designed for a child. My daughter Savannah went wild over the last spinner card I made, so I thought I'd make one just for her. I used the Sophia image from Snowflake Kisses and cut her out. Savannah LOVES that Sophia looks like she's doing cartwheels across the card. :) This card now lives on her dresser. . .too cute!

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your week is off to a great start! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Snowflake Kisses (Paper Pretties); Paper- Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate (PTI); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Whisper White Craft (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, circle punch, wide grosgrain (Darice); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

7 Swans a Swimming

Today's 7th Day of Christmas challenge on Paper Craft Planet is being sponsored by Verve. The challenge is to create a project that is elegantly black and white, and you can add a splash of color if you'd like. :) Upload to Paper Craft Planet using the keyword 12day7 by midnight tonight and you'll be entered in a drawing to receive the Snowflake Splendor, Snow Wonderful and Poinsettia Christmas sets! For all the details, check out the challenge thread HERE.

I decided to use my Poinsettia Christmas set for my challenge card. I used the Lace Tree Cuttlebug folder and used a poinsettia as the tree topper. I added some bling to the tree and used my labels Nestabilities for the sentiment. If you'd like a chance to win, head on over to Paper Craft Planet and upload your card! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Poinsettia Christmas (Verve Stamps); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Pure Poppy (PTI), Basic Black (SU); Accessories- Nestabilities label die (Spellbinders), organdy ribbon (Darice), Lace Tree Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Faux Tearing

One of the challenges from the Prettie Pajama Party the other night was to use the Faux Tearing Technique. I've always thought this technique was so cool, but I never got around to using it until now. I really LOVE the way that looks. Isn't that so neat that it looks like a torn piece of Baja Breeze that's patterned with Snowflakes, when really, it's only sponged and stamped while the other half of the card was masked! Such a neat and EASY technique. I used the Snowflake Kisses set from Paper Pretties. So, if you're looking for a simple but effective technique, try this one!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Snowflake Kisses (Paper Pretties); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Baja Breeze, Basic Black (SU); Ink- Baja Breeze, Whisper White Craft (SU), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- rhinestone brad (Darice), turquoise Stickles; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Cuppie PEEK

Here's a little peek of a project I've posted on the Stamp a Sweet Impression Blog today! If you want to find out more about it, follow the link! I hope you like it!

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Danielle challenged us to use a heat gun in our project. I decided that I would crack open the Heat 'n Stick powder I've had forever, but never used. Boy did I make a mess of that! LOL Hopefully it will get better with practice, but I wasn't too impressed with my first time. :) I used the Stamp of the Month Club stamp for January, Gliding By. Isn't she adorable? You can sign up for the Stamp of the Month Club here. This card is on its way to Jessie. Be sure and check out what the other Prettie Girls have come up with for this challenge! I'm sure they're all just wonderful! Oh, I almost forgot. . .please stop by and welcome our newest Prettie Girl, my sweet, sweet friend Christi! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Gliding By (Paper Pretties); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Pure Poppy (PTI); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, circle and scallop circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Snow Dots Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), polka dot organdy ribbon (May Arts), Heat 'n Stick powder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU); Finished card measures 4.25" square.

Happy Holidays

Does this card remind you of peppermints? Everytime I look at it, I think of cool peppermint candies. LOL I think it's the sponged white ink, I don't know. I made this card using the Christmas Stamp Ensemble from JustRite and the 3 1/4" Harmony Classic Circle Stamper III. You can find a lot of these products at Stamper's Dream. I added the scalloped border at the bottom to give the card a softer feel. The finishing touch was the Dew Drops above the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you're having a great week! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Christmas Stamp Ensemble (JustRite); Ink- Whisper White Craft (SU), Pure Poppy (PTI); Paper- Pure Poppy (PTI), white (Georgia-Pacific); Accessories- organdy ribbon (Darice), scallop border punch (Martha Stewart), Hydrangea Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest); Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"
