Sew Happy

This month's Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions has really been put to good use in this household lately!  LOL  Made With Love is the perfect set for those in your life who love to sew.  I, unfortunately, cannot sew, but I admire those who can!  :)

I used some papers from the Yours Truly Collection from Pebbles for this card.  I just LOVE the coordinating die set as well!  Stitched With Love creates adorable little "embellishments" for your card or project.  I layered two of the buttons on this card.  The dress form is another adorable die in the set that adds that something extra!!

You can read about all of the subscriptions that are available HERE.  I honestly love both the Key Ingredients and Stamp of the Month subscriptions.  I am never disappointed!  ;)  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Dream

I've been seeing all of these cards lately where the die cuts are "nested" in the card.  I just LOVE that look!  It adds such interest to a one layer card, I think.  I decided to try this with the Windy Tree Die from Taylored Expressions.  It was a little tricky with this die because there are separate little leaves that are SO tiny, but I was able to make it work.

The first thing I did was die cut the tree out of the card.  Instead of diecutting another tree, I used the piece that I die cut and colored it using Copic markers since I wanted the leaves to be a different color than the trunk.  Once I colored the tree, I inserted it back into the die cut space.  Next I carefully colored and inserted the tiny separate leaves.  Once the tree was finished, I die cut "dream" from the front of the card.  I die cut "dream" again from black cardstock and inserted the black one in the die cut space.

I love the way it turned out!  I'm not sure how well you can see in the pictures, but in real life, it is a very neat effect to have the tree and sentiment embedded in the card.  :)  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter!

VLV Fabulous Birthday

It's Friday and time for another fabulous Viva la Verve Sketch!  This week's awesome sketch is brought to us by Teresa!  I used the Better Together set from Verve.  I started by stamping the background onto the white card base.  Next I embossed a piece of black cardstock with a chevron embossing folder.

The sentiment was stamped and punched with a circle punch.  The star was die cut using the Starry Die and the banners were die cut using the Banner Bundle Die Set.  The star is made out of a gold cardstock and two of the banner pieces are die cut out of silver cardstock.  I liked the look of silver, gold, black and a splash of red!  ;)

Head on over to the Viva la Verve Blog and find out how to play along!  We love to see what you create!  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

To start this card, I die cut some "hills" with the Build a Scene: Rolling Hills Die.   Next I stamped the cloud image.  I stamped the tree and the potted flower, colored them with Copic markers and cut them out.  I die cut a vase from the Various Vases Die set and adhered that over the tree.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed in white on black cardstock.  To finish the card, I added some faux stitching around the edge.

Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks: Home Decor and When Your Heart Speaks

Welcome back for more sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions!  Today I have two projects to share with you.  The first is a bit of home decor.  This project uses the NEW A Life She Loved stamp set along with a Mini Canvas & Easel available in the TE Store.

I started by stamping different brushstrokes in different colors from the NEW Stroke of Genius set.  Then I stamped the sentiment on a transparency that was cut to the same size as the canvas and attached it over top.

The box was created using the NEW Mini Mix & Match Bows.  This is such a simple project, but cute!  There are lots of home decor items to choose from in the TE Store!!

My second project today is a set of bookmarks.  I used the NEW When Your Heart Speaks set along with the Label Stacklets 8

I die cut pieces from an old book and then used a smaller die from the set to die cut kraft cardstock.  The easel from the set was stamped in black ink while the sentiment was stamped in red.

To finish them, I stapled some red ribbon and then tied some Baker's twine around the ribbon.
