Thinking of You

It's time for this year's Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over at SCS!!!  There are lots of challenges happening this week and they are LOTS of fun!!  If you're not a Fan Club Member, you can find more information and sign up HERE

I played along with one of the challenges using some Taylored Expressions products.  The stamps are from the Embrace Beauty set.  I used quite a few dies on this card as well.  I just LOVE the doily dies from Taylored Expressions.  I used the Layering Doily Die Large and the Layering Doily Die Medium.  The sentiment was stamped onto a piece die cut with the Banner Stacklets 1.  The papers are from the Vintage Bliss Collection from Simple Stories.  The bird image was stamped onto transparency in white craft ink and then embossed in white.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you're having a great day!

Mojo Every Little Thing

I can't believe how quickly this summer is flying by.  My husband and I got to sneak away for a long weekend and it feels like a time warp since getting back.  I just can't seem to get back on track with my normal routine.  Stamping has been the hardest thing to get back to just because they normal house duties have to take precedence.  :(

I was able to play along with this week's Mojo Monday Challenge.  The sketch this week was nice and simple and came together quickly for me.  I used papers from The Pier Collection from Crate Paper.  I love how soft the colors are in this collection.  They make me happy.  I used a sentiment from Let It Be from Verve as well as the flower image.  The ribbon is from the Spring Fling Collection and I thought it went well with this paper collection. I used the Banner Bundle Set for the little tab under the ribbon.

If you're looking for a starting point for your card, come play along with the Mojo Monday Challenge!!

Sending You Love

It's been a long while since I've used any of the Favor Frame stamp sets at Taylored Expressions.  For my card today, I used the A Little Love set.  Even though it's meant for little treats, I used it for a card.  I stamped a background with the heart image from the set.  I stamped the frame and sentiment and die cut it with the Favor Frame Die

The papers I used are from the Knee Highs Collection from Basic Grey.  I added a little stitching around the edge of the card as well as some glitter tape twine.  I like using things for something they weren't originally intended.  Every other time I've used this stamp set, it's been for a treat of some sort.  I hope you've been inspired to thing about sets you have and maybe use them for something other than they were intended!!  :)  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Taylored Expressions July Stamp of the Month

Hi there!!  If you've been visiting the last two days, you've seen both the July Stamp of the Month and the July Key Ingredients featured together.  Today the Bakers Dozen and the Key Ingredients Team are featuring the Stamp of the Month, Cute Hoot.  As with all of the Stamp of the Month sets so far, Cute Hoot is another adorable set!!  Cute Hoot has a coordinating die set that you can purchase separately called Curly Cute Hoot.

I created a clean and simple card today to feature this set.  I love the clean lines of the images in the set and I thought a clean and simple card would feature the images well.  I stamped the owl and the cloud bubble and then die cut them and adhered them to the card with foam tape.  I stamped the pattern tone on tone behind the owl.  The owl's eyes were colored in with a pen just because I thought it would look cute!  :)

Doesn't this set just make you smile?  It sure makes me smile!  You can find more details about the Stamp of the Month Subscription HERE.  Again, the Bakers Dozen and the Key Ingredients Team have more inspiration to show you using this set!

Taylored Expressions July Stamp of the Month and Key Ingredients!!

Hi there!  I hope you're having a great week!  Today I have a new Stamp of the Month and Key Ingredients Kit to share with you from Taylored Expressions!  We are featuring the Deluxe Subscription, which includes the Stamp of the Month, Cute Hoot, as well as the July Key Ingredients. I know you've heard me say it before and I will continue to say it. . .I LOVE my subscription!!  It is so nice to have a kit show up at my door each month with coordinating products.  It makes my crafting time so much easier because I don't have to search through my stash looking for coordinating paper, ribbon and embellishments.

Cute Hoot is a fun set!!  One thing I like a lot about it is they are solid images, which means NO COLORING!!  It's funny, but I find myself using solid images more in the summer because I have less time to "stamp", which translates to less time to color!  LOL   Do you find that you tend to use certain kinds of stamps at certain times of the year (other than for specific holidays)?   Cute Hoot has a coordinating die set that you can purchase separately called Curly Cute Hoot.  On my card, the flower, curly bits and "hugs & kisses" tag were all die cut using Curly Cute Hoot

Here's more information about the Deluxe Subscription available at TE:

Deluxe Key Ingredients
Perhaps you've noticed that our Stamp of the Month and Key Ingredients coordinating perfectly making the two a match made in heaven! Verve July Diva Dare

If you haven't already found it, the Verve Diva Dare is happening over on the Verve Blog!!  This month's theme is Tattered Pages.  This month's dare pays tribute to Julee (Poetic Artistry), owner and creator of Verve Stamps and Diva Teresa (Paperie Blooms).  Julee has created countless, uplifting sentiments which have become one of Verve's trademarks, and Teresa knows how to rock distressing and "shabbiness" on her cards.  So what we're daring you to create this month is a card using an uplifting sentiment and some distressing and/or shabby element to it.  Kind of like an encouraging card you have received which you have read so many times the edges are a bit tattered.  Just remember to use at least one Verve product on your creation!

I used the Hundred Hearts set for my card along with the frame from Twitterpated.  The frame was die cut using the Hearts & Swirls Frame Die.  The papers are from the Blossom Soup Collection from Jillibean Soup.  The heart doily was something I found in the Target Dollar Bin long ago.  :)  The ribbon is from the Spring Fling Ribbon Collection.   You can see a little peek of the heart border from the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set. I sponged a little ink around the edges of the card, the frame and doily to give a little more of that distressed look.  The patterned papers were "roughed up" with the edge of my scissors.  This isn't a style that I normally "do", but I had a lot of fun creating today's card!

Head on over to the Verve Blog for details on how to play along and win prizes!!  Thanks for stopping by today and we hope you play along!!

Taylored Expressions: Share Joy Campaign

The Share Joy campaign is an invitation to celebrate the joy of card making and to share that joy with others.  The gift of a handmade card can bring a smile to anyone’s face, and we want to bring as many smiles as we can to the faces of people around the world!  Please join us in creating and sending handmade cards that will make a difference in the lives of others.

This is just the beginning of the Share Joy campaign!  We will be donating the cards to various charities as time goes on.  We are starting by sending this first batch of cards to hospital chaplains throughout the U.S.  TE stamps are not required, unless you want to be considered for the opportunity to have your card featured on the TE Store homepage.  You can find all the details on the TE Share Joy page!!

For my card today, I used one of the TE sets that makes very happy. . .Sunny Days with coordinating dies.  I absolutely LOVE this stamp set and use it often when I need to send a "just because" card.  Everytime I look at the images in this set, they make me smile. . .the happy sun, diecutting a rainbow!!  LOVE it!  TIP:  Instead of diecutting the rainbow out of different color cardstocks and then piecing it together, I simply diecut it out of white cardstock and color each strip with a Copic marker in my color of choice.

I LOVE to make cards and send them for no reason at all.  In today's world, I think most of our communication or letting someone know you're thinking of them happens through email, Facebook or texting.  And that's GREAT!  They are all instant ways to get a message to someone, but I think opening the mailbox and finding a card in the mix with all those bills  (ha!!) can really put a smile on someone's face.  It's like a little surprise that instantly puts a spring in your step.  I know my kids come running from the mailbox when they find an envelope that has their name on it!  While receiving any card is wonderful, there is something about a handmade card that makes it even more wonderful.  For me, the thought that someone not only thought of me and sent me a card, but that they took time out of their busy life to MAKE it, really means a lot to me.  :)  I love to do that for others.

Be sure to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen and friends have created to Share Joy!!  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Taylored Expressions Launch Party!

Taylored Expressions is launching a NEW webstore today with lots of new and improved features!!  To celebrate the launch, TE will have fun party games and prizes all week long. Today, we're kicking off the fun by sharing projects featuring the new Summer Love stamp set.  This is an exclusive web launch set available only through Sunday FREE with any order over $20 before tax & shipping (limit one set per customer.)

My card for today features that adorable ice cream truck in the stamp set.  It totally reminds me of summer and my kids running out the door as soon as they hear whatever tune the truck is playing!  LOL  I die cut the image with the Label Stacklets 2 and colored it with Copic markers.  The papers are from the I Heart Summer Collection from Simple Stories.  I created a scene for the ice cream truck using the Picket Fence Border Die.  I added a fun little element using the Curly Border Die as well.  Along the bottom of the card, I added some ice cream with the Build a Treat Border Die

Thanks for stopping by today!  Visit Taylor’s Blog for details on how you can win a $25 gift certificate just for setting up an account and make sure you check out our fresh new look at www.tayloredexpressions.com!!
