Make It Monday - Rock and Roll Technique

This week's Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink is to use the Rock and Roll Technique.  I haven't used this technique in a while, so it was nice to revisit it!  I decided to use the Alpha Blocks set for the technique.  I started by diecutting the blocks for the letters with the Alpha-Blocks Die.  Then I inked each letter in Hawaiian Shores ink and rolled in Ocean Tides, then stamped it.  I love the look it gave each letter.

For the background of the Kraft cardstock, I masked stripes and rubbed Fresh Snow and Hawaiian Shores ink to create stripes, then added some score lines and stitching.  A palm tree stamped in the background would have been really neat, but I didn't have one.  The letters just put me in the mind of the beach.  The Happy Birthday is from the Handwritten Notes set.  This will be a nice card for my nephew whose birthday is coming up in July.

You can visit here to see other participants in this week's challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tooth Fairy

Here is another card with the adorable Tooth Fairy Fun set from Our Craft Lounge.  As you can imagine, I've gotten a lot of use out of this set as of late!  LOL  And I'll continue to get use out of this set for the next couple of years!  :)  My girls have loved finding Tooth Fairy cards under their pillows!

I colored her in with Copic markers.  I also stamped her again and only colored and cut out her head so that I could mount it with foam tape on top of the original stamped image.  It gives it more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you're enjoying your week!

Bright Side of Life

Today I have a card that I created for two Verve Challenges. . . the latest Viva la Verve Challenge by Andrea and the June Get Your Diva On Challenge by Laurie.  Laurie's theme is Bring on the Summer, Sunshine, and Blue Skies.  So, I combined Andrea's awesome sketch with some bright, happy, summery stamps and papers to fit the theme.

I used the Fluttering By set from Verve. . .an old favorite of mine.  The papers are from the Happy Go Lucky Collection from American Crafts.  I stamped the butterfly in Pure Poppy ink onto pink cardstock and cut it out.  Then I stamped the butterfly in Sweet Blush ink onto vellum, cut it out, added some Stardust Stickles and then adhered it over the cardstock butterfly.  I die cut the blue cardstock with the Beaded Oval Die from Spellbinders.  I made a button flight trail for the butterfly.

We'd love for you to play along in either or BOTH Verve Challenges!  Just click on the links above to find out more details, but there's ALWAYS Verve prizes involved!  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Birthday Party Across the Miles

Welcome to this Fantasy Birthday Tour for our sweet friend Taylor VanBruggen!!  Since we couldn't all be together today to throw a party, we're having a virtual Birthday Party Across the Miles and everyone is invited to come along!  And what's a fantasy party without fantasy gifts?  If money were no object, this would be my gift to you, Taylor. . .A BRAND NEW HOUSE!!!  Of course, I'd have to look into additions, but I found this base model to give you an idea of what it would look like!  I thought it was perfect for you!  :)

I've also created this card that you've hopefully received in the mail already using one of your favorite sets, Green Acres.  Taylor, I hope you have a FABULOUS birthday!  Wish I could be there to give you real "hogs and kisses"!  :)  Can't wait until I AM able!

You should have come here from Danielle Lounds' blog, but if you didn't, you might want to start this Fantasy Birthday Tour at the beginning on Jami Sibley's blog. I am the last stop, so how about you head over to Taylor's Blog and give her some birthday LOVE!?  Thanks for stopping by and for joining us!

VLV You're So Amazing

It's a new month of Viva la Verve Challenges!  This card is my interpretation of Amber's awesome sketch!  I couldn't fit the "Happy Father's Day" sentiment panel where it's illustrated in the sketch, so I moved that down a bit.

I used the Happy Days set along with a partial sentiment from Happy Hello.  The papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel Collection.  The big swirl was stamped in white craft ink and then embossed with white embossing powder to make it stand out more.  The "You're So Amazing" sentiment was stamped in StazOn onto a transparency.

Come and play along with the Viva la Verve Sketches!  They're lots of fun and you can win some Verve!!  Besides, we'd love to see what YOU create!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Enjoy

I am just LOVING the Echo Park Papers that I recently picked up. . .Summer Days and Splash!  So fun, happy and bright!  I paired them with the A Day in Paradise set from Taylored Expressions.  I colored the beach house in with Copic markers, cut it out and mounted it with foam tape over the original stamped and colored image.

I used the Wave Border Die along with the Frame It Up 1 Die on this card.  The sentiment was added to a piece of cardstock I die cut using one of the little frames from the Shopping Bag and Labels Die set.  A fun, bright, summery card perfect the coming season!

Today is Savannah's last day of school.  She has a half day.  I can't believe she's no longer a first grader!  BUT that means that next year I'll have TWO kids in school all day as Arwen will be starting Kindergarten!  :)  What will I do with myself?  LOL  I'm sure the younger two will still keep me busy, but it will certainly feel strange for a while.

Well, thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Mahalo

Today's card features one of the new A la Carte stamps from Taylored Expressions, Moka Lani.  She is so much fun to color!  I colored her in with Copic markers and used papers from the Kid's Summer Fun Pack.  I used the Palm Tree Die to die cut the patterned paper and create the palm tree.

The waves were created using the new Wave Border Die.  I used the Cloud Duo Die to die cut the cloud and I stamped a sentiment from the set on it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Make It Monday - Cracked Glass

Today I was able to participate in the Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink.  This week's challenge was to use the Cracked Glass Technique.  I used the Botanical Silhouettes set, which was the exclusive Anniversary set from PTI.  I die cut the focal piece using the Mat Stack 4 and stamped my images in Pure Poppy, New Leaf and Berry Sorbet.  The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Black Versafine.

I die cut the top edges of Harvest Gold and Pure Poppy cardstock with the Edgers 1 Collection.  I created two score lines on the Harvest Gold cardstock just below the focal image and stamped "Happy Birthday" in Summer Sunrise on the Harvest Gold cardstock so the whole sentiment would read "Happy Birthday My Friend".  After using the cracked glass technique on the focal image, I rubbed Summer Sunrise ink in the cracks.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
