Today is my day to share my creation for this month's Project Parade on the Verve Blog. This month's theme is Home For the Holidays: Gifts, Decor and More! The Verve Divas are sharing their ideas for making homemade, inexpensive gifts or decor for the holiday season.
I decided to create ornaments. When I first made these ornaments six years ago, I just LOVED them. The ornaments themselves are pretty inexpensive and they are fairly simple to create. For this ornament, I used the O Christmas Tree set from Verve Stamps. I die cut a circle out of a window sheet. (it's important that the circle is as wide as the ornament and touches the sides or else it won't stay in place) I stamped the tree image in Olive StazOn ink on the window sheet. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn. I added some Christmas Red Stickles and a star brad for tree decoration. I set it aside to let it dry. I filled the ornament with Polar White Flower Soft. I used the Flower Soft because I had it on hand, but I've seen some "glitter snow" in craft stores that would be perfect for this as well! Once the Stickles were dry, I rolled up the piece of acetate and put it inside the ornament. Once it's inside, it will open up. I used tweezers to straighten it. Finally I added the red ribbon for my finished ornament.
Head on over to the Verve Blog to see some fabulous projects from the Divas and for a chance to win some Verve! Thanks for stopping by!
