Yesterday was Savannah's last day of Kindergarten. I can't believe she's a first grader already! They had a pizza party yesterday, so I went into school to "celebrate" with her. I made her teacher a scrapbook page that I framed. The picture was one my husband took of Savannah's class when he went in to be "Mystery Reader". I thought it was adorable and really displayed how they were from day to day with each other. . .just kind of hangin' out! I found the poem online and I thought it was perfect. Her teacher LOVED it and even got all teary. I can imagine how hard it is to have these little kids all year and all of the sudden they're gone and moving on. Savannah will certainly miss Miss Mackey. . .and I will too! :)

Just so sweet - what a wonderful teacher gift!! Happy Graduation Savannah! :)
Oh Charmaine! What a fabulous gift! I love that poem!
What a great idea, Charmaine! My daughter's last day of Kindergarten is next week. We've got first graders now!! Thanks for the idea; I might just have to do this, too!
well this made ME all teary-eyed and I wasn't even the recipient! but, having been a teacher in children's church for years, I do remember how the kids tugged at my heart and can relate to the poem, in fact one of my favorite compliments was seeing one of the girls we taught (both John and I for years) all grown up and in high school. I commended her mother for doing such a great job raising her and she said, "I didn't do it alone - I have y'all to thank for that too" it was priceless. I'm sure her teacher will cherish this for years to come. looks like Savannah had a little sweetheart with his arms around her! cute
