Believe

I just LOVE the Holiday Button Bits set from Papertrey Ink. I just love all of the adorable images, and this round little Santa is one of my favorites. How cute is he?

I stamped the Santa twice onto Kraft cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink. I colored one full image and then just the head on the other. I attached the button to the fully colored image and then cut out just the head from the other image and attached it over the first image and button. I used the plain and scallop oval punches from Stampin' Up for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Holiday Button Bits (Papertrey Ink); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Whisper White Craft (SU); Paper- Scarlet Jewel, True Black, Kraft (PTI), gold (DCWV); Accessories- oval and scallop oval punches (SU), circle punch (SU), Scallop circle punch (Marvy Uchida), button (PTI), embroidery thread, Copic markers, white gel pen; Finished card measures 4.25" square

Verve Thankful Hearts Blog Hop

It’s new release time at Verve and we’re topping off our Thankful Hearts Blog Party with a blog hop featuring three new sets that just released, all focused on thankfulness. If you’ve been hopping and arrived from Lynda’s blog, then you’re right where you should be. If you’ve just happened by, then you’ll want to hop on over to Poetic Artistry to start from the beginning! And to make this hop even sweeter, we’ve got a special treat hidden along the way for one lucky commenter. So if you see something that makes you smile, be sure to give a little shout-out in the comments for a chance to win our entire release!

For my card, I used the 1 Corinthians 15:57 Plain Jane being released tonight. I used some Penny Lane paper from My Mind's Eye along with my Labels Seven Nestabilities. I thought the "book" look would go well with a verse. Hope you're loving all the new stuff you're seeing from Verve! I know I am!
Thanks for hopping by! Next up on the hop is Jen Tapler.

Weekend Sketch Challenge #108

I can't believe it's Friday again already, let alone Black Friday! This year is just flying by!

For today's sketch, I decided to ink up one of the newest Papertrey Ink sets that I bought, Take Note. When I looked at this sketch, I thought this set would be perfect. I also used the Handwritten Notes set to make my "list". I added a little sponging to my "list" because it looked too clean! LOL My thought for this card was to send someone a reminder whenever they were feeling down and I thought if the paper looked a little aged, it would give the "this list has been around for a long time" kind of feel. :)

Be sure to stop and see what gorgeous creations Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo and Sharon have for you!

Hope you're having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Take Note, Handwritten Notes (PTI); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Dusty Durango (SU), New Leaf (PTI), Burnt Umber (Palette); Paper- Places You'll Go Key Ingredients (Taylored Expressions); Accessories- notepad (PTI), paper piercer, Dusty Durango marker, circle punch (SU); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Taylored Expressions Black Friday Blog Hop

It's Black Friday and in celebration, Taylor has organized a blog hop and asked us all to decorate the Perfect Package Card Box to fit a set of cards or to package a gift we are giving this holiday season.

I chose to use my box as packaging for a gift. What I decided to do was decorate my box to look like a candy cane. To do this, I cut a piece of red cardstock to fit the front of the box. I then cut it into 1/2" strips on a diagonal. I attached every other strip to the box to give that candy cane look. The last little touch was the thick, red ribbon and sentiment. I used a sentiment from the Tag Treats set.

I filled the inside of the box with the Ghirardelli Holiday Chocolate Assortment. Don't they look just delish? I HAD to try one and it WAS delicious! I only ate one though! (wink) :) I added another sentiment inside. This sentiment is from the Holiday Wonder set. This gift was SO easy to put together. You will LOVE these Perfect Packages! You can find more gorgeous creations using these boxes by visiting these blogs:

What's Hiding?

Today I have a cute little card to share with you. I was browsing through Michael's the other day and I saw this adorable little stamp set called My Little Monsters. It's by Recollections and it is so cute, I just couldn't leave it there. :) I decided to cover this monster in Delphinium Blue Flower Soft! I know, not your typical use for Flower Soft, but I thought it was PERFECT for this monster, don't you think? I originally just colored in the monster and added the Flower Soft, but his eye kind of disappeared within the Flower Soft, so I thought a googly-eye would work perfectly. The zig zag border was made using an EK Success border punch.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start!

November 20th Key Ingredients at Taylored Expressions!!

It's time for another Key Ingredients release at Taylored Expressions! The November 20th Key Ingredients are now available for purchase! I just LOVED this kit when I first saw it. The colors are so rich and delicious! Taylor challenged us to create something that let you all in on a bit of our Thanksgiving. I like to create little gift packages for my mom, mother-in-law, grandmothers and godmother. I do this quite a few times throughout the year. Often it's just something little to let them know I'm thinking of them and appreciate them very much. Thanksgiving is the perfect time to do that. I used the Key Ingredients kit to create cards and little boxes for these special women in my life. I changed the colors and patterned papers for each card, but used the same layout and stamped image. I used the flower from the Celebrate Life set. One of the contents of the November 20th Key Ingredients are these skeleton leaves. I have never used them before, but they are very neat! I added them as sort of the "leaves" on the stem of the stamped flower. They are so light and add such a delicate touch. The wine rhinestones that come in the kit are just fabulous! Perfect for adding that extra bling to any project!

If you've purchased any of the Key Ingredients kits at Taylored Expressions before, you know how much is packed into that package! I just LOVE my key ingredients kits. It makes it SO EASY! You never have to think about coordinating anything. . .it's all right there for you! Did you know that for just $21.95 a month you can receive these perfectly coordinated kits right on your doorstep?! You can find more Key Ingredient packages HERE as well as subscription sign up! I promise you, you won't be disappointed in these kits!

I'm excited to participate today in the Taylored Expressions Fabulous Fall Blog Hop! Taylor has put together some really sweet Key Ingredients Kits at an incredible discount. These kits are in limited quantity and slightly different from the regular Key Ingredient kits. For details see Taylor's blog post today. My projects today feature the Morning Meadow Kit. It was super fun to work with because I don't usually work with rub-ons and this kit had some BEAUTIFUL rub-ons included. I especially LOVE how rub-ons go over photos. Out of the Box

Yesterday, I was able to participate in the Try a New Technique Challenge at SCS, Cutting "Outside the Box". I had a lot of fun with this technique. I used the Tree-mendous Love set from Our Craft Lounge. I used my Plain Heart Nestabilities as well as my Polka Dots QuicKutz embossing folder. The paper is Twitterpated from Imaginisce.

I colored the giraffe using Copic markers. I added some highlights with a white gel pen. Before taking the cardstock out of the die, I sponged some Bermuda Bay ink on the heart.

Did you know that you can participate in the you can participate in the you can participate in the Birthday Bash Challenges? My fellow design team member and sweet friend Heather posted super fun challenges starting yesterday over at The Lounge. Did you know that every month they have a Sketch Challenge and the winner gets to pick a free stamp set from OCL? It's true! Check out the OCL Sketch Challenge forum! Home For the Holidays

Today is my day to share my creation for this month's Project Parade on the Verve Blog. This month's theme is Home For the Holidays: Gifts, Decor and More! The Verve Divas are sharing their ideas for making homemade, inexpensive gifts or decor for the holiday season.

I decided to create ornaments. When I first made these ornaments six years ago, I just LOVED them. The ornaments themselves are pretty inexpensive and they are fairly simple to create. For this ornament, I used the O Christmas Tree set from Verve Stamps. I die cut a circle out of a window sheet. (it's important that the circle is as wide as the ornament and touches the sides or else it won't stay in place) I stamped the tree image in Olive StazOn ink on the window sheet. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn. I added some Christmas Red Stickles and a star brad for tree decoration. I set it aside to let it dry. I filled the ornament with Polar White Flower Soft. I used the Flower Soft because I had it on hand, but I've seen some "glitter snow" in craft stores that would be perfect for this as well! Once the Stickles were dry, I rolled up the piece of acetate and put it inside the ornament. Once it's inside, it will open up. I used tweezers to straighten it. Finally I added the red ribbon for my finished ornament.

Head on over to the Verve Blog to see some fabulous projects from the Divas and for a chance to win some Verve! Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #106

Time for another Weekend Sketch Challenge! I didn't know what I was going to do with the sketch this week. Those tiles across the bottom really had me stumped! LOL

I finally decided to get out some old Verve. I used my Asian Flair set and stamped the boxes on Kiwi Kiss and Rich Razzleberry squares. Then I used the Just For You set for the little leaves and sentiment. The large leaf image is from the Forever in our Hearts set. To finish it up, I added a button and some faux stitching.

Be sure to stop and see what Beate, Cambria, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo and Sharon have created using this sketch. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

On another note: Want a chance to win some AWESOME prizes? My friend Heather has come up with a fun Scavenger hunt to celebrate Our Craft Lounge's 1st Birthday that starts at 6 am (pacific time)! You can find all the the details at The Lounge. If you are a member in the forums, you can also find details and post questions here. Good luck! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Asian Flair, Just For You, Forever in our Hearts (Verve Stamps); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Whisper White Craft, Rich Razzleberry, Kiwi Kiss, Soft Suede (SU); Paper- Kraft, True Black (PTI), Rich Razzleberry, Kiwi Kiss (SU); Accessories- button (PTI), paper piercer; Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Happy Birthday, Isaac!

Today is Isaac's 2nd birthday! I can't believe my little man is two already! Time goes so fast. We had a little party for him at my parents this past Wednesday. He had a blast. I don't think he realized the celebration was all for him. He LOVED opening presents and LOVED eating pizza and his rice crispy cake! LOL Can you see the pizza all over his face? He was much too busy to take time to pose for a picture, so I was happy to at least get him looking at the camera!

We plan to go to Chuck E. Cheese this weekend for the "real" celebration. Isaac doesn't have a clue, but his sisters are VERY excited! :) One of Isaac's favorite characters is Mickey Mouse, so I thought it only fitting to make a Mickey Mouse cake. . .besides, it's hard to mess up 3 circles! Happy Birthday, my little man! We love you SO MUCH!

Soaring By

I have had this set for a LONG time and think this is the second time I've used it! I just LOVE it, so I thought I'd make a card with it today. This is the Everyday Button Bits set from Papertrey Ink. I just recently got the Holiday Button Bits set, but that hasn't made it out of its packaging yet. :( I plan to do that a little later!

I have to admit I love buttons, but I hardly ever use them. I don't know why. These sets will definitely help remedy that! I used some Melon Berry cardstock along with Ocean Tides Bitty Dot Basics paper and Melon Berry, Ocean Tides and Burnt Umber ink.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Everyday Button Bits (PTI); Ink- Melon Berry, Ocean Tides (PTI), Burnt Umber (Palette), Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Melon Berry, Ocean Tides Bitty Dot Basics (PTI); Accessories- buttons (PTI), paper piercer; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Snowflakes

I just LOVE this sentiment from Paper Pretties. It's called Snowflakes Falling. I just recently got the Distressed Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder, so I thought I'd pair the folder and sentiment. The sentiment reads "Snowflakes falling down tonight, Fluffy, white and sparkling bright. Floating gently to the ground, Soft and light without a sound."

I added some Stardust Stickles to the snowflakes and opal ribbon to give some sparkly-ness to the card. Simple, sweet and pretty. . .the perfect card to mass produce! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Snowflakes Falling (Paper Pretties); Ink- Soft Sky (SU); Paper- Soft Sky (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Accessories- Distressed Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), opal ribbon (Offray), Stardust Stickles; Finished card measures 4.25"x5.5"

Time For Take-Out Sneak Peek!

I am very excited to share with you a sneak peek of one of the newest My Timeless Templates, Time For Take-Out from Papertrey Ink! Why am I able to share this with you? Well, a little while ago I received an unexpected, totally out-of-the-blue email from Nichole Heady! I opened it thinking it was my monthly newsletter and realized it was an actual email asking me to be on the My Timeless Templates Promotion Team! I nearly fell off my chair! If you've read my blog for any length of time, you know I've been a HUGE fan of Papertrey Ink since its beginning, so you can imagine how excited I am! Once a month I get to share a peek with you!

When I saw this template, the first thing I thought of was a little girl’s bikini top. I just saw those cross-over flaps and that’s the first thing that came to mind, so I went with it. . .complete with belly button! :) The handles worked well for the bikini top straps. I know my girls love their swim goggles and I love their sun protection, so I created a little summer package just for them! This template is adorable for lots of food-related treats too! I have plans for teacher gifts this Christmas with this template!

Complete instructions and supply lists for this project are provided in the companion idea download that comes with the templates and will be available for purchase on November 15th. Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek!

Stamping Around Philly

This past weekend, I had the extreme pleasure of going to Stamping Around Philly and got to meet so many wonderful people! I just LOVE when I'm able to meet blog friends in real life! I thought I'd share some pics with you.

My class was sponsored by Taylored Expressions. Taylor so generously donated all the supplies for my class, stamp sets that were raffled off at the end and even sent goodies for everyone's treat bag! I created this little box filled with 5 mini cards. The box is the Small Perfect Package and it really is adorable! Hopefully everyone enjoyed creating their little mini box with cards.
Here's a pic of the teachers: (from left to right) Korin Sutherland, Tammy, Becky, Kim and Julie. In front is me and Kathi Rerek.

It was GREAT to see my sweet friend Julie again! She was my roommate last year on the Stamp & Cruise. Since that cruise, we've both had new babies (amazing how things change in a year, huh?) We both brought our babies with us. I brought my double stroller since I didn't know the layout of the place we were staying. I'm glad I did and it worked out perfectly that Owen's seat clicked into the front of the stroller. Here's a little pic of the two youngest stampers of the group. :) I have to say, I was so impressed with how good they were! I fully expected Isabelle to scream or fuss during my class! LOL She actually slept a lot and here I caught her in between napping and waking! :)

This last picture is of my sweet friend Bethany. I met Bethany a couple of years ago, so it was GREAT to be able to see her again!

Hello to all my new stamping friends I met! It was a pleasure to spend the weekend with you!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #105

It's Friday and time for another Weekend Sketch Challenge!

I decided to use a new Verve set for this sketch. This is the Holly Jolly set. I used some Christmas Magic paper from Fancy Pants Designs. I stamped the ornament on a pattern too, but it out and then added Stardust Stickles for a very sparkly ornament!

Be sure to stop and see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Lori, Mary Jo and Sharon have created using this sketch.

As this is posting, I'm heading to Stamping Around Philly! I can't wait to meet those of you who are coming! It's going to be a lot of fun!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Holly Jolly (Verve Stamps); Ink- Whisper White Craft (SU), Onxy Black (Versafine); Paper- Christmas Magic (Fancy Pants Designs), True Black (PTI); Accessories- scallop circle punch, circle punch (SU), paper piercer, Stardust Stickles; Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Taylored Expressions RELEASE DAY!

It's RELEASE DAY over at Taylored Expressions! You can now purchase the sets you've seen the past two days as well as this new set, Celebrate Life! This set is different from anything Taylored Expressions has released so far. The images are just beautiful. I chose to use the pumpkin image for my card and a leaf image for my tag. On my card, I double embossed some Orange Zest cardstock with the Autumn Type Cuttlebug folder and Plain Oval Nestabilities. Then I stamped the pumpkin image inside the embossed oval and colored with Copic markers. The treat is just a little cello bag (filled with Girardelli chocolates) wrapped with a belly band made of Kraft cardstock.

As I mentioned on my first sneak peek post, there is a Sweet Spa Bundle that you can purchse, but there is also the Super Size It Bundle available! So, if you can't decide, maybe one of these bundles will help with your decision!

Be sure to stop by and see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has cooked up today!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 2

Here's a peek at another set being released Thursday, November 5th at Taylored Expressions! It's called Sweet Indulgence. It coordinates very well with the set you saw yesterday, Luxurious Labels!

For today's project I decided to create a hot cocoa gift. Inside the pottery mug is some filler, a bag of marshmallows and a package of gourment hot chocolate. . .raspberry to be exact! This set has the perfect tag border that fits different images in the set. The little Cuppie images are just so sweet and perfect for so many girly occasions! I used the Spa Key Ingredients for my creations.

Don't forget to see what the rest of the Baker's Dozen has to show you today!

Thanks for stopping by today! Check back tomorrow for the last peek and RELEASE DAY!
