Color the World

Hi there!   Today I have a card that inspired by two different pins I found on Pinterest!  The first is this lovely card by Taylor and the second is this beautiful card by Kay.  On Taylor's card, I was inspired by the flowers that she die cut out of different colors.  I tend to either use these dies and either color the stem and flower to look like a normal flower, or I "paper piece" the die cut to make it more than one color.  I decided the solid colored die cut flowers would give the card a modern feel and I liked that!

On Kay's card, I was inspired by the sponged background that gave such a nice, soft feel to the card.  I combined these two elements to come up with my card.  I used the Silhouette Stems 2 die and die cut the flower out of Candy Corn, Granny Smith, Oreo and Lollipop cardstock.  After I sponged the background of the card with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and then added droplets of a blue and gold spray mist.  Next I attached the die cut flowers and them stamped and embossed the sentiment from The World Is Waiting in white.

I hope you've been inspired!  Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Little Lady

I have a card to share today that I've made early for a special little lady's birthday!  ;)  I used the Tall & Skinny # Dies as well as the Bugs & Balloons Stamp & Die Combo from Taylored Expressions.

I started with some Strawberry Milkshake cardstock and die cut random numbers out of it.  I saved the inner pieces so that I could put them in after I mounted the piece onto the card with foam tape.  Since it will be the special lady's 6th birthday, I put a piece of patterned paper from the Double the Joy 6x6 Paper Pack behind the six and lined it with some Stardust Stickles so it would stick out!  I also added some die cut flowers from the Bugs & Balloons Stamp & Die Combo along with some dots of Stardust Stickles on the card front.

The ladybug was die cut, stamped and mounted onto the card front with foam tape as well.  The ladybug was made from Cupcake cardstock.  I think the special lady this is for is going to LOVE this card!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

VLV You Inspire Me

I was able to play along in this past week's Viva la Verve Sketch!  This week's sketch is from Anya.  This sketch was kinda different for me.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with the twine pieces behind the circle.  :)

I used the retiring Thoughtful Florals set from Verve.  This was one of my very first Verve sets and now it's on the retiring list!  :(  You can get it on sale right now!  Once it sells out, it's gone for good.  I used papers from the Family Ties Collection from Pebbles.  I added sequins from the Signature Sequin Mix for some sparkle.

Come play along with this week's Viva la Verve!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hot Chocolate

It's been far too long since I've been able to participate in a Mojo Monday Challenge!  I always enjoy them!  I'm sure you will too, so play along with us!  For my card I used the Chocolate stamp set from Verve.  The papers are from the Love Story Collection from Echo Park.

I stamped and colored the hot chocolate image with Copic markers.  I die cut the word "chocolate" using the Chocolate Word Die, which I LOVE.  So, head on over to the Mojo Monday Blog and play along with the sketch!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peeks: Bloomin' Boots and Lovely Landscape

Hi there!  Welcome back for Day 3 of sneak peeks!  I hope you've been enjoying all of the peeks so far!  I have two projects to share with you today!  The first uses the NEW Bloomin' Boots set and Bloomin' Boots Die set.    I love the adorable patterned clouds and boots in this set, not to mention the sentiments!  :)  I started this card by embossing one of the rectangles from the NEW P&P Stitched Essentials Die set onto the card.  Then I stamped my scene inside that rectangle.

Once I stamped and die cut the clouds, I used a marker to color the outside of the box.  Even though this card may look layered, it's just a plain white card base that is colored!  I die cut the boot and adhered it with foam tape over the flowers and added a little sequin from the Double the Joy Sequins to one of the flowers.

My second project today uses the NEW Lovely Landscape set.  Lovely Landscape is meant to pair with the Garden Arbor die series to create landscapes in the garden!  You can see the flowers behind the gate, as well as the bird sitting on the gate.  I also used the NEW Fancy Banner 2 Petite Stamp & Die Combo for the sentiment.

There is also some grass I added using the Wispy Grass Border.  I finished the card off by adding some twine.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog each Sneak Peek Day this week for details on how you can enter to win.
