Verve October 2015 Spotlight Hop - Day 2

DAY 2 - Friday, 10/23/15

Welcome back to Day 2 of Verve's October 2015 Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas are back for another day of spotlighting the new release! It's release day and everything you've seen spotlighted yesterday and today is available to order in the Verve store! Due to manufacturing delays the Good Work set is available as a pre-order only. The Just Breathe set has limited quantities with more on the way very soon. Stay tuned next week on the Verve Blog for four days of spotlights from some very special Guest Divas, then we'll wrap things up with a Release in Review Hop next Friday!

If you've arrived from Teresa's Blog, you're in the right place!!  Today's spotlight is shining on the Good Work set, coordinating Good Work Flower Die Set and the Psalm 150:6 plain jane. Also releasing today is our beautiful Frosted Snowfall Sequin Mix.  Fpr my card, I did some watercoloring with this set.  I started by watercoloring and diecutting the flowers with the Good Work Flower Die Set.  Next I did a watercolor wash on the background, let it dry and then stamped and embossed the sentiment.  I also stamped some leaves from the set and added some white accents with a white gel pen.  Next on the hop is Marisa!!  Thanks for stopping by!

Verve October 2015 Spotlight Hops!

Welcome to Verve's October 2015 Spotlight Hops!
It's almost time for some new Verve to hit the store, and the Verve Divas are hopping today to share our first looks at a brand new set filled to the brim with encouragement called Just Breathe.

If you've arrived from Teresa's Blog, then you're in the right place!  For my card, I used some papers from the Lost & Found 3 Collection from My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the sentiment from Just Breathe onto white cardstock diecut with the Curvy Bookplate Die.  I also die cut some leaves using the Sprightly Sprigs Die Set and left them white and added some Icicle Stickles to give them some sparkle.  To finish the card, I added some of the Shine Bright Sequin Mix and ribbon from the Signature Ribbon Collection.    Next on the hop is Marisa!   Thanks for stopping by!

You're My Main Monster

My kids are really into Halloween.  From making Halloween cookies, cupcakes or brownies to decorating the house and choosing what they're going to dress up as, they just LOVE everything Halloween!  Since I try to slip cards into their lunch boxes from time to time, I couldn't let Halloween time go by without some Halloween cards in their lunches!  :)

For my card, I participated in the current Share Joy Challenge!  The inspiration photo really inspired me and the sketch did too!  All I had to do was pick a stamp set and some papers!  I used the Halloween Doodles set from Taylored Expressions.  I just LOVE this adorable set and haven't used in a while.  The papers are from the Build a Scene - Halloween Kit!  I just added some Red Pepper cardstock for the big heart!  That was die cut with the Heart Stacklets.  I also embossed the heart with the Tangled Webs Embossing Folder.  I thought it added some Halloween flair.  The circles were die cut using the Stitched Circle Stacklets.   As a finishing touch, I added some sparkle with the Build a Scene Halloween Sequins and die cut a little tiny heart that I covered in Clear Irresistible Pico Embellisher to give it a 3D look.

If you've just come from visiting Stacey, you're in the right place!! My card uses the Latte Love Digital Freebie.  I have been having lots of fun with this digital set!  I used some papers from Authentique that I found in my scrap stash.  I thought they fit the inspiration photo perfectly.  I also added some sparkle by diecutting some silver glitter paper with the Coffee Word Die as well as the Flourished Trim Die.  Additional sparkle was added with some Shine Bright Sequin Mix.  Next on the hop is Amber!!

VLV Latte Love

Last week I played along with the Viva la Verve Sketch.  I LOVE when I get to play along because I LOVE sketches and I love creating.  Sketches make it much easier for me when I'm short on time!  I had also been dying to create something with the fabulous Latte Love Digital Freebie Julee made!

I just LOVE the coffee cups she created.  It really puts me in a Fall mood.  :)  I used some papers from my scrap stash.  These papers are from the Apple Cider Collection from Imaginisce.  I also used some of the NEW Fall Fancy Shaker Mix from Verve.  The little metallic leaves are just adorable!

Taylored Expressions October RELEASE DAY!!

Hi there!  It's time!  Everthing you've been seeing over the past few days is NOW AVAILABLE in the TE Store!!  I do have another project to share with you today!  It uses the NEW Build a Scene - Winter Trees dies.  Build a Scene - Winter Trees is a fun set that helps you create a scene.  For my card, I paired it with the Critters on Ice set to create this little iceskating scene.

I started by stamping and coloring the polar bear.  Then I covered the polar bear in Glossy Accents and let him dry.  This provided a way for me to "mask" the bear and add an inked background.  Once the bear was dry, I sponged on Picked Raspberries, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks.  After that, I flicked water onto the paper and it gave those white spots that almost look like falling snow.  I cut around the bottom of the skate so that I could tuck the "ice" from the Build a Scene - Central Park Dies under the skate and give the appearance that the bear is actually ON the ice.  The trees completed the scene as well as the snow that was added using Liquid Applique.
