Enjoy the Journey

I have a pretty simple card today using a pretty cool technique.  It's called Paint Resist.  It's just like the traditional Resist Technique or "Ghosting", except you use paint instead of Versamark ink.  I inked up the fleur de lis background stamp from the Verve Bountiful Backgrounds set with Pearl Acrylic Paint Dabber.  I stamped it several times on a piece of white cardstock.  Once the paint dried, I rubbed Spiced Marmalade and Shabby Shutters Distress ink onto the piece and then wiped it with a cloth.  The paint resists the ink and creates this distressed-looking, textured background!

I stamped the sentiment from Bountiful Backgrounds onto Kraft cardstock and added score lines on the edges.  I die cut a heart out of black cardstock with the Jotted Heart Die and embossed it using the Tropical Paisley Sizzix Embossing folder.  I also applied some Pearl acrylic paint to the edges of the heart.
