SS Thank You

Today I had a little time to play, so I thought I'd participate in this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I decided to use some older sets from Taylored Expressions that I haven't used in a while, Branching Out and Branching Out Coordinates.  Using the new Scallops & Circles Impression Plate is what inspired me to use these sets.  I used the scalloped side of the plate and it reminded me of an owl belly, hence the owl.  I also used the Take Note Die 2 for the focal image.  The image was colored using Copic markers.  I added some Cinnamon Stickles around the edge of the focal piece too.  I just love Stickles!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you're staying warm and having a wonderful day!

Never Want To Live Without You

I have another card for you today using some of the latest Verve.  This card uses the Text Objects set.  I started out by stamping the heart in Burnt Umber ink and cutting it out.  Then I took the background stamp that coordinates with the sentiment I used and stamped it in Pink Grapefruit ink on the heart.  I added a little button with some twine.

The sentiment was stamped in Burnt Umber ink onto cream cardstock and cut out using Labels 10 Nestabilities.  I adhered the heart to the die cut piece with a foam dimensional.  The last little touch before attaching the sentiment panel to the card, was using the Iron Works Cuttlebug folder on the left side of the card.  That spot just needed something and this worked perfectly.  You know how I LOVE my embossing!

Remember that all new releases at Verve are 15% off (while supplies last) through December 31st!   Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Text Objects (Verve Stamps); Ink- Burnt Umber (Palette), Pink Grapefruit (VersaMagic); Paper- Morning Meadow Collection (SEI); Accessories- Labels 10 Nestabilities (Spellbinders), button (Foofala), twine (PTI), Iron Works Cuttlebug Folder (Provocraft);  Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

New Verve!

Last night, the newest Verve was released!  If you haven't seen the sets, hop on over to the website to check them out!  Today's card uses the Text Objects set.  I stamped the hearts from the set in white craft ink then again in Versamark.  It makes them look like they are embossed without taking away from the sentiment.  I cut the sentiment out using the Vintage Oval Frame Die.

The paper is from the Morning Meadow Collection by SEI and the little rose is from Prima.  The new release sets are 15% off through December 31st!  They would make perfect stocking stuffers!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful weekend!  SUPPLIES USED:  Stamps- Text Objects (Verve Stamps); Ink- Ocean Tides, Fresh Snow (PTI), Versamark (Tsukineko); Paper- Morning Meadow Collection (SEI);  Accessories- Vintage Oval Frame Die (Verve Stamps), rose (Prima);  Finished card measures 4.25" square

Taylored Expressions RELEASE DAY!

All of the products you've seen this week from Taylored Expressions are now available in the store!  I have a couple more projects to show you using the Knit Wit set.  This set is part of the new Crafty Petites line in the Whimsical Wishes Collection!  Each of the Crafty Petites sets are perfect for some creative person in your life.  They make GREAT stocking stuffers and if you've never tried Taylored Expressions stamps before, these are the perfect, small and inexpensive way to start!  ;)

For my first card, I used the adorable sheep image from the set along with the November Key Ingredients Kit.  I used the Take Note Die 1 for the focal image and the new Large Scallop Border Die for the green piece.

The sheep was stamped twice.  The second one was cut out and mounted with foam tape on top of the first stamped sheep for some dimension.  I colored the sheep with Copic markers.  I added some faux stitching around the border with a white gel pen.
The second card I have to show you uses the basket of yarn image.  This card uses papers from the Whirlybird Collection from My Mind's Eye. I used the new Scallops & Circles Impression Plate on the Kraft cardstock and the From the Heart Frame Die to behind the focal piece.  The focal piece was cut out using the Plain Circle Nestabilities and colored with Copic markers.  By the way, there is also an Embossing Pad Kit available!  For a limited time (today 12/3 through Sunday 12/5) you can purchase all four Crafty Petite stamp sets in a bundle and save 10%!  Crafty Petites Bundle

  • Verve New Release Spotlight - Day 2

Today I have another feature for you of a set being released TONIGHT at Verve!  This set is called Text Objects.  I just LOVE it.  I think my favorite image is the one I used on this card, the sailboat.  It has such a playful look to it.  It can be dressed up or used for a baby or boy card. . .too cute!  For this card, I paper pieced the sailboat and paired it with this beautiful sentiment.  Don't you just love this sentiment?

The background of the top portion of the card is stamped with one of the text backgrounds in the set.  It says the same as the focal sentiment, but it's smaller and perfect for adding texture to a background.  I know you'll really like this set!  Hop around to see what the rest of the Divas have to show you using this set!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2

It's Day 2 of sneak peeks at Taylored Expressions and today we're showing you something new at TE. . .new size sets called Petites!  They're little, they're adorable and they're a great value for $7.95!  We are introducing four different Crafty Petite sets today!  They were illustrated by Nancy McKinney and are as adorable as the other sets Nancy has illustrated.

The first project I have to show you uses the Collector's Anonymous set.  This set is PERFECT for most of us crafters!  :)  I made a little button package and mini card to go with it.  I used one of the favor boxes from TE to package my buttons.

The button jar image was stamped, colored with Copic markers and then cut out using the From the Heart Frame Die.  You can't see it very well in the photo, but the favor box is stamped tone on tone with images from the set.

Did you notice all of the scallops?  Those are new too at Taylored Expressions!  I used the Medium Scallop Die and Small Scallop Die for the treat box and card.

The next project I have to show you uses the Kitschy Kitchen set.  This set is great for your food-friendly friends!  LOL  I used one of the Apron Invitation Favors as a door hanger/treat box.  I thought a packet of hot cocoa worked well with the "you make me hot" sentiment in the set. . .and it makes a great little gift.  This would be a great idea for spreading holiday joy through the neighborhood.  Who wouldn't love to find a little gift on their door when they came home from work?  You could even use this as a crafter's apron and put one of these Crafty Petites stamp sets in the pocket as a little gift!  Wouldn't that make a great gift for a crafty friend?
For this little gift, I used the Take Note Die 2 for the focal image.  I also used the new Scallops & Circles Impression Plate for the front of the pocket.

Verve New Release Spotlight - Day 1

Today the Verve Divas are Spotlighting sets from the next release, which is this Friday, December 3rd at 9pm in the Verve Forum!  This first card I'm featuring the Amazing Wishes set.  It contains 13 sentiments and two flower images. . .lots of stamps packed in a little set!  I also used the Vintage Oval Frame Die on this card.  The flowers were stamped on patterned paper and cut out.  I added rhinestone brads to the centers  The sentiment is framed in Cinnamon Stickles for a little sparkle.

The second card I have to show you uses the Wordy Birds set.  This is an adorable little set perfect for those Just Because, Congrats and birthday cards.  For this card, I stamped the birds onto Kraft cardstock and colored them using Copic markers.  I added some Stardust Stickles to their wings.  I cut the focal piece out using the Sweet Scallop Tag Die.  The background piece was created using my Scor Pal and Scor Bug.  I used the Martha Stewart fringe scissors to create the grass.
Be sure to check out what the rest of the Divas have to show you today!  Stop back again tomorrow for another peek!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1

I can't believe it's December already!  You know what that means, though. . .new Taylored Expressions goodies!  Today the Baker's Dozen is featuring Friendship Blooms and some new coordinating dies!

Friendship Blooms is a beautiful all-occasion flower set illustrated by Nancy McKinney as part of the Whimsical Wishes Collection.  It has perfect sentiments for those everyday "friend" cards.  For my first card, I used my favorite sentiment in the set along with some So Sophie Savvy papers from My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the sentiment and cut the panel using the Labels 4 Nestabilities.  The flower was created using the new Friendship Blooms Dies and coordinating stamps from the set.

Did you happen to notice something else on the card?  YEP!  There is some embossing!  And YEP, Taylored Expressions is introducing the first in the Taylored Impressions line. . .the Scallops & Circles Impressions Plate
You know how much I love to emboss on my cards, so I am VERY excited about this new product!

For my second card, I used more of the Friendship Blooms Dies to create this floral bunch!  I used the October Key Ingredients Kit for this card. The flowers are cut out using the Friendship Blooms Die and the branches cut using the Leafy Branch Die

In this picture, you can better see the flip side of the Scallops & Circles Impression Plate.  I just love both sides of this plate!

And here's a closeup of the flowers and branches.  You can read more about the impression plates and dies HERE! Everything you've seen today will be available for purchase on Friday, December 3rd at 8am Pacific!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen to see more of these new products!  Stop back again tomorrow for more sneak peeks! Thanks for stopping by!
