Beate Weekend Sketch #45

Another Friday and another Beate Weekend Sketch Challenge! Today is also the release of two new sets from Verve Visual, so I thought I'd use one of them for my card today. This is the Father Figure set. I used Scarlet's Letter from Basic Grey for the papers. I tried to keep this very masculine. . .no ribbons and very little embellishments. You know me, though, I HAD to do some faux stitching! LOL Make sure you check out what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo and Sharon have created for today. I'm sure they are ALL wonderful! Also, check out the new sets at Verve Visual! I know you'll love them! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Father Figure(Verve Visual); Paper- Scarlet's Letter (Basic Grey); Ink- Craft Whisper White (SU), Onyx Black (Versafine), Versamark (Tsukineko); Accessories- paper piercer, black marker, large eyelet

Charmaine, this card looks awesome. I love the faux stitching all around and the zig zag on just part of the horizontal layer. I love the paper you used. Fantastic MAN card. Hugs and grins

I love the masculine, grundy feel to this, Charmaine -- the colors are pefect for a Father's Day card and that huge eyelet just sets it all off!

You do beautiful work! I love to look thru your blog...and it's so rare to find a great masculine card! I have a question for you...what type of setting do you take your photos in to get the clean, crisp pics with a wonderful white background? Do you use a photocube? Or have you hand-crafted something special? I've started my own blog, and I just can't seem to get my photos to come out as crisp and clear as yours. Thanks for your time!

Charmaine,

You make such wonderful masculine cards!! The colors, the embellishments, & papers are all perfect!! I tend to go a little "too much" on the embellishments for masculine cards...but yours are just right! I LOVE it!!!

I've fallen behind again, and am pretty much just clearing out my Google Reader. But I HAD to pop over to say how much I LOVE this. Such outstanding colors and layout, details, like the little faux stitches and red on black. WOW!
