It Was An Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny. . .

Okay, so it's not a yellow polka dot bikini, but it IS a yellow polka dot bathing suit! :) I used part of the butterfly wings in the Petals & Stems and Fluttering By sets from Verve Visual to make this cute little bathing suit. I thought this card would make anyone smile, even laugh! I used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder to mimic the polka dots on the bathing suit. It's pouring down rain here today. This card makes me think of summer and sunshine, though! Thanks for stopping by. . .hope you're having a wonderful weekend! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Petals & Stems, Fluttering By (Verve Visual); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink); Ink- Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), gold grosgrain (Darice), slit punch (SU)

Beate Weekend Sketch #50

Beate's Weekend Sketch this week was a tough one for me. . .or maybe it was just a tough week! LOL I'm sure you all have those times when it doesn't matter what you create, you just don't like it. I just got this hostess set, Sweet Dreams, so I wanted to use it for this sketch. I LOVE the scalloped frame that comes in the set. After I stamped the scalloped frame in Soft Sky, I inked up the flower stamp in Blue Bayou and then went over the stems with an Old Olive marker and stamped it inside the frame. I added a few gemstones to the flower centers for some bling. I can't wait to see what beautiful creations Beate, Cambria, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo and Sharon have to share. I am always amazed at what they create! Hope you have a wonderful Friday! Thanks for stopping in! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Sweet Dreams (SU); Paper- Blue Bayou, Soft Sky DS, Whisper White (SU), olive (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Blue Bayou, Soft Sky (SU); Accessories-Water Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), gemstones (Hero Arts), paper piercer, Old Olive marker (SU), double stitched ribbon in Blue Bayou (SU), white gel pen

Prettie Colors

This is a card I made for the Prettie Pajama Party last week. It was for the Color Challenge, to use dark brown, celery and light blue. This is the Look Out World stamp set that was just released. Isn't little Cooper just adorable? I love how his little tennis shoes are coming untied. . .so cute. If you've visited the other Prettie Girl blogs, I'm sure you've seen this same image on lots of other adorable creations.

Cooper's "older sister" Sophia has an Off To School stamp that won't be available until July, but you can get it now by joining the Stamp of the Month Club! Follow the link if you'd like to check it out! Thanks for stopping by today! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Look Out World (Paper Pretties); Paper- Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Great Big Brads (Hot Off the Press), paper piercer, Copic markers

Happy Mail!

I've received some happy mail lately that I'd love to share with you! This first card is from Tammy Fite at Stamp With Tammy. I just LOVE the colors and papers she used and the dry embossing really works well with that flower! So pretty! Thank you, Tammy, for taking the time to make my day!

The second cards is from Joni Stringfield. She is the illustrator for the Paper Pretties stamps! Isn't this card wonderful? So simple but beautiful. Thank you, Joni for thinking of me! I really appreciate it!

May Blog Hop

This month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge was to use score lines in a creative way as a decorative accent to a project. For this card, I scored small lines in between each flower and added two scores lines across the bottom of the card with the sentiment stamped between them. Nothing fancy, just simple. . .adding texture to the card. If you'd like to see what other participants have done with score lines, head over to the Papertrey Ink Forum and look for the May Blog Hop Thread where everyone will be posting links to their creations. Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Garden of Life (Papertrey Ink); Paper- Stamper's Select White, Kraft (Papertrey Ink); Ink- Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Swiss Dots Summer Sunrise ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Sunflower Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), Stardust Stickles, paper piercer, Scor-Pal

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, I issued a challenge to the Prettie Girls to make a bookmark. The bookmark I made for Danielle has magnets on the inside. It fits over the page you want to bookmark and is held closed by the magnets. I hope she likes it! I took a square die in the Plain Square Nestabilities and cut and embossed it on the green polka dot paper. You can't really see the embossed edge in the photo. I stamped the little doggie and "scene" using the accessories in the Rainy Day Friends set by Paper Pretties on shimmery white cardstock. I colored it using Copic markers. Make sure you check out what bookmarks the other Pretties Girls made! I'm sure they are all awesome! Last week, Jana challenged us to make a baby card using Paper Pretties stamps and today is Jillian's turn to issue a challenge. We hope you'll play along! If you do, please send me a link so I can see what you've done! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Rainy Day Friends (Paper Pretties); Paper- shimmery white (Paper Accents), Basic Black (SU), polka dot (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Plain square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copic markers, magnets

Be Inspired #15

Time for another one of Beate's Be Inspired Challenges! When I first saw this picture, I LOVED the dress, but I had no idea what I was going to do with it as inspiration. If you've visited my blog for any length of time, you might remember that I have considered myself "flourish challenged." LOL I can use a flourish here and there as an accent, but using nothing but flourishes, help! :) This dress made me think of the Filigree Fantasy set by Verve Visual. . .LOTS of flourishes! So, I just picked the large pattern on the dress and went from there with colors and layout. After I was finished, there was no room for a sentiment, so I put the sentiment from this set ("Sprinkle each day with kindness") on the inside of the card. . .FRAMED with flourishes even! LOL Like anything that scares you or you don't feel you know how to do. . .once you do it, it doesn't seem as bad as you thought it was. :) Be sure and stop by to see what gorgeous creations Beate, Danielle Lounds, Jennifer Buck and Silke Ledlow have been inspired to create. Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Filigree Fantasy (Verve Visual); Paper- Basic Gray, Whisper White, Soft Sky (SU), brown and orange (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Plain Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), rhinestone brad (Darice)

Great Friend

Here is a quick and simple card I made while I had some extra time today. . .imagine that! Extra time? I used the Black Cat from JudiKins. The paper is from the Homespun Collection by Memory Box. The stamp, as well as the gemstone, paper and May Arts ribbon can be found at Stamper's Dream. I just LOVE this cat, don't you?
We're heading to a picnic today and the weather is beautiful! I know Savannah is going to spend the day swimming. Arwen isn't too crazy about the water yet, so I don't anticipate her wanting to swim. Hope you're having a beautiful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Black Cat (JudiKins), Thoughtful Messages (Hero Arts); Paper- Homespun Collection (Memory Box), white (Georgia-Pacific), Regal Rose (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- ribbon (May Arts), paper piercer, Gemstone (Hero Arts)

Hoppy Waterfall

I haven't made a waterfall card in a long while. Actually, I think this is only the second I've ever made. I made this one for Melanie's last contest. I started the baby kangaroo off on the bottom left of the square, and as the panels flip, you get more of the sentiment and the baby kangaroo hops across to finally end in his mother's pouch. (Did you notice him in his mother's pouch?) I thought it would make an adorable Mother's Day card. For a fabulous video on how to make one of these cards, visit Dawn! I'm sure you'll find lots of other fabulous video tutorials for those of you who are visual learners! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Hip Hop Accessories, Just So Hoppy (GinaK Designs); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Blue Bayou, Whisper White (SU), patterned (DCWV Nana's Nursery Stack, Boy); Accessories- double stitched ribbon in Blue Bayou (SU), circle punch, brads (Making Memories), prima flowers, Copic markers, paper piercer, Not Quite Navy marker (SU)

FS68 Peanutbee

This is for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS, to CASE Peanutbee. I just LOVE her gallery and you will too! I chose to CASE this adorable card. After I already made the card, I realized that even though this wasn't a sketch challenge on SCS, Denise made this card for one of Taylor's Friday Cupcake Challenges using one of Taylor's sketches. Oops. . .I should have read first! In any case, this is what I came up with. I changed the stamps and the circles on my version. The stamp set is Baby from Paper Inspirations and you can find it at Stamper's Dream! Instead of using plain circles for the baby images, I used the scallop circle punch.
Thanks for stopping by today! We're heading to a picnic a little later on. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. . . I know we are! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Baby (Paper Inspirations); Paper- Whisper White, Basic Black (SU), Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink), patterned paper (DCWV); Ink-Palette Noir; Accessories- Berry Sorbet Satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink), scallop punch (SU) paper piercer, Copic markers

Buttons

One of the challenges I issued Thursday night at the Paper Pretties release was to use buttons on your card. I LOVE buttons, but I rarely use them on cards. I don't know why. Here is that chick again from One of Those Days. This time I paper pieced the egg to match the patterned paper. I shaded a bit on the patterned paper of the egg to give it some depth. I used the Punches Plus Brass template to emboss the oval for the sentiment, then punched it out with the large oval punch and stamped the sentiment. The buttons are from Doodlebug Designs and available in the Pretties Boutique. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a beautiful Saturday! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- One of Those Days (Paper Pretties); Paper- patterned paper (Nana's Nursery Stack, DCWV), white (Georgia-Pacific), Gable Green (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Scallop circle and plain circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), large oval punch, Punches Plus Brass template (SU), buttons (Doodlebug Designs), ribbon (Offray), Copic markers.

Beate Weekend Sketch #49

Another weekend and another one of Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenges! Woo hoo! I have been dying to use my Billy stamps from Pink Cat Studio since I got them. I just haven't had a chance. My one nephew turned 2 this past week so I thought I'd make him a birthday card using this sketch. I thought this image would be perfect for him. Make sure you stop by to see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo, and
Sharon have come up with for the sketch. I'm sure they are awesome as usual!

Hey Good Lookin!

This is for today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS, to make a masculine card. I hope the ribbon still works for a masculine card. My thought was that this card could be for a chef or even just a man who cooks! LOL They still have to tie their apron, right? :) This is one of the new sets that Paper Pretties is releasing TONIGHT at 8pm EST. It's called Sweets For the Sweet. I'm hoping you'll join us for some fun! I'm going to issue 3 challenges (one at the top of each hour) starting at 8pm EST. There will be prizes and lots of fun chatting! And remember, anyone who purchases ANY of the Paper Pretties' stamps during the release party will receive a coupon for 25% off of their entire next order!! Please stop by! Hope to see you there! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Sweets For the Sweet (Paper Pretties); Paper- Basic Black (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), red (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Whisper White Craft (SU); Accessories- brads (Making Memories), gingham ribbon (Offray), Copic markers

One of Those Days

This is for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS. I loved the sketch. I decided to keep it very simple. . .you know, that "white space" phase I'm going through! LOL I used one of the stamp sets that is being released by Paper Pretties tomorrow night at 8pm EST. It's called One of Those Days. Isn't it funny? I think I'll be using this stamp set a lot! What a way to make people smile or even laugh when they're having a rough day. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used a Warm Gray along the inside edges of the egg to give it some depth instead of being flat white.

I hope you'll stop by the Prettie Pajama Party tomorrow night! Hope to see you there!

On another note, some of you have left comments that need a reply, but there is no contact information for you (Kat) :). Would you please email me (link on the right side bar) so that I can respond to your question? Thank you SO MUCH! :) SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- One of Those Days (Paper Pretties); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Prints Designer Pack, Basic Black (SU); Accessories- Copic markers, horizontal slot punch (SU), gingham ribbon (Darice)

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Julie challenged us to make a card from something that inspires us. I love color, but I especially love color when it's a combination that you wouldn't think goes together. I was browsing Pottery Barn online and came across this furniture and just LOVED the colors. I would NEVER put these colors together, but I would buy this furniture because I REALLY like the color combination. Weird, huh? I used the Cuddle Me Sophia stamp from Paper Pretties and the Happy Everything set from Stampin' Up. This card is on its way to Christie. She celebrated her birthday last week. . .Happy Birthday, again, Christie! Hope you had a wonderful day! The challenge for next week is to make a bookmark. Hope you'll join us for that challenge!

Also, tomorrow night Paper Pretties will release 3 new sets! Come join us at 8pm EST for our release and Prettie Pajama Party! I have 3 challenges for you and I will issue one at the top of each hour. You'll have an hour to create and upload your creation to the Prettie Pajama Party gallery. . .kind of like a mini Virtual Stamp Night! It's lots of fun and there are prizes! Plus, everyone who purchases ANY of the Paper Pretties' Stamps during the Party will receive a 25% coupon for use on their entire next order of anything from the Pretties' Boutique! Hope to see you there! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Cuddle Me (Paper Pretties), Happy Everything (SU); Paper- Purely Pomegranate (SU) white (Georgia-Pacific), Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), chocolate (The Paper Company); Ink- Burnt Umber (Palette), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Copic markers, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder (Provocraft), square rhinestone brads (SU), cream grosgrain (Darice)

Thank You

Here is a sweet and simple card I made using some Paper Inspirations stamps that I got at Stamper's Dream. The ribbon, Memory Box paper and Gemstones can also be found at Stamper's Dream. I stamped the Thank You from the Favorite Calligraphies clear stamp set in Onyx Black Versafine ink. Then, I colored the flower stamp with Cameo Coral and Old Olive markers and stamped that over top. I added some Hero Arts Gemstones to a couple of flower centers. For the finishing touches, I added the ribbon and punched the bottom of the card with the scallop border punch by Martha Stewart. What a pretty quick and simple card!
I'm very happy to announce that I've been asked to join the Stamper's Dream Design Team! I'm looking forward to working with the already amazing team and getting to know Michelle and the gang more! They are a wonderful bunch of people! The store carries a wide variety of stamps, embellishments and supplies. I'm very excited! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Favorite Calligraphies, Watercolor Pressed Flowers (Paper Inspirations); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Certainly Celery (SU), Homespun Collection (Memory Box); Accessories- Old Olive, Cameo Coral markers (SU), ribbon (May Arts), scallop border punch (Martha Stewart), Gemstones (Hero Arts)

Be Inspired #14

I decided to take a totally different approach to today's Be Inspired Challenge. My usual approach is to find a stamp set that closely resembles the inspiration piece and make the card. So for this inspiration piece, I would normally choose a flower set. Instead, I chose the furthest thing from a flower. I decided to use the colors and the shapes from the inspiration piece. For this I used Wild Wasabi, Really Rust, Whisper White, a touch of black and circles! This adorable stamp set is one that is being released this Thursday, May 22 at 8pm EST over at Paper Pretties. It's called Look Out, World!

Be sure to check out what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and
Susan Roberts have created using today's inspiration. I'm sure they will all be wonderful! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Look Out, World (Paper Pretties); Paper- Really Rust, Wild Wasabi (SU) white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Copic markers, circle Coluzzle, paper piercer, ribbon (May Arts), brads (Making Memories)

Verve Color Challenge

Interested in winning some Verve bucks? We'd LOVE to see your creations using this color combination and who wouldn't want to win $15 in Verve bucks? Be sure and leave a comment linking to your creation on this post before Midnight (Mountain time) on May 31st. If you have any Verve Visual stamps, please use them, but it's not a requirement. The winner will receive a $15 shopping spree at the Verve store. If you upload to Splitcoast, make sure you use the keyword VVPP02 so we can all see your creations!

For my card, I used the butterflies from Fluttering By and Petals & Stems, and a sentiment from Floral Whimsy. The large butterfly was stamped twice, once on the white cardstock and once on vellum. The vellum butterfly is dotted with glitter. Keep checking the Verve blog for more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Fluttering By, Floral Whimsy, Petals & Stems (Verve Visual); Paper- So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Regal Rose (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), patterned (DCWV)vellum; Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, So Saffron (SU); Accessories- Regal Rose wide grosgrain, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU), scallop border punch (Martha Stewart)

Look on the Bright Side

I can't read this sentiment without singing it! Funny, huh? I just love this sentiment. It is from the Fluttering By set by Verve Visual. The flower and butterfly are from the Petals & Stems set. The sentiment totally inspired the colors for this card. I don't often use orange, but I find that when I DO use it, it really makes me smile. Make sure you check out the Verve blog later today! There's going to be some fun stuff happening! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps: Fluttering By, Petals & Stems (Verve Visual); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Certainly Celery (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun (SU); Accessories- Swiss Dots embossing folder (Provocraft), wide polka dot grosgrain (May Arts), Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), paper piercer, Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU)

FS67 Dawnsing

This is for today's Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast, to CASE Dawnsing AKA Dawn McVey. I adore Dawn's work. If you aren't familiar with her work, you should check it out! I'm sure you will be inspired! You can visit her blog, My Favorite Things to see what she's up to! GREAT stuff! I chose to CASE this card of Dawn's. I changed the colors and stamps for my card. Dawn's is much brighter and happier. I thought mine would make a great guy card. I used the coffee mugs from the Paper Pretties set Look Who's Perky. The coffee mug stamp is like a border stamp. I stamped it on white cardstock and then punched out certain coffee mugs to mount on the card front. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful Sunday! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Look Who's Perky (Paper Pretties); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), blue, brown and patterned (DCWV); Ink- Burnt Umber (Palette); Accessories- small circle punch, Copic markers

Happy Mail!

Look at this adorable card that my sweet friend Sandy Vankirk sent me? I have never seen a card like this. It's called a Never-Ending Flip Card. Sandy attended a class and learned how to make these cards and sent me the cards AND directions just in case I'd like to learn how to make them! How sweet is she? The still pictures don't show how very cool this card is! The card will continue to flip as you pull the sides. So cool!

The second card she sent was a double pocket card. I have seen those before, but I've never made one! Thanks, Sandy, for making my day with your happy cards! That was so sweet of you to think to send them to me!

Beate Weekend Sketch #48

Beate's Weekend Sketch this week was tougher than usual for me. It took me a while to figure out what I was going to put where. I used two of the new Verve Visual sets that are releasing TODAY called Flowers & Stems and Fluttering By. If you haven't seen the new sets, check them out! I'm sure you'll LOVE them! For this card, I stamped two of the butterflies on vellum, cut them out and mounted them on the card front. I traced the inside of the wings with a glue pen and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The large butterfly also has some wire antenna. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori, MaryJo, and Sharon have come up with! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'm going to my upline's stamp camp tonight and looking forward to it! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Fluttering By, Flowers & Stems (Verve Visual); Paper- Ginger Blossom DS, River Rock (SU), vellum; Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine), Ruby Red (SU); Accessories- paper piercer, Basic Black marker, wire, prima flowers, brads (Making Memories), ric rac, Dazzling Diamonds glitter

Blogging With a Purpose Award

I received this award from my sweet friend Donna at Serenity in Stamping and from a new, sweet friend, Kim Evans from Stampin' With Kim. How very sweet are they both? I am honored that they would award this to me! Now comes the part I don't like. . .awarding it to others. I just don't like it because I hate to leave anyone out and there are SO MANY of you who deserve this award. So, I'm going to go about it in a different way. There are a few blogs that I visit that don't just have "eye candy", but actually share a lot of themselves and their thoughts. They really make me think or make me aware of things that I didn't know about. I award this to:

Julie Desper at Need To Stamp- Julie keeps up with a lot of blogs about Hodgkins Disease, being a survivor herself. She has really shed some light on a subject about which I know very little, and is such an inspiration. She also creates BEAUTIFUL cards! Stop and say hello to Julie!

Linda MacDonald at MacDonald Clan- Linda and I "met" through blogging and a common interest in music. Linda's blog is FULL of adorable stories about her children, comments on current and personal events and even some stamping, scrapbooking and other crafts. I always enjoy stopping by her blog. . .you will too!

Allison Fillo at Stampin When I Can- Allison is just amazing with all of the information she shares. I don't know where she finds all the time. . .and creates beautiful things on top of that! Go check her out if you haven't already!

Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Christie challenged us to create a card using acetate. As much as I LOVE acetate cards, it is so difficult to photograph them! I finally got a picture that didn't have too much of a glare. I used the Rainy Day Friends set from Paper Pretties. The oval piece was cut using the largest plain oval Nestabilities die. I actually cut two. . .one for the front of the card and one for the sentiment inside. I added Water Dew Drops to give the feel of rain. I love how the light shines through them on an acetate card. This card is on its way to Julie! Hope she likes it. Make sure you check out the other Prettie Girl blogs to see their wonderful creations! Today is my turn to issue the next challenge. My challenge is to make a bookmark. Have fun!

There are some exciting things happening at Paper Pretties too! Have you checked out the Stamp of the Month Club? If you're interested in being the FIRST to receive the newest Paper Pretties releases, you'll want to check it out! Also, our very own Julie is featuring a monthly Product Review! Not only will you get to see more of Julie's FABULOUS work, but the product that she's reviewing will be on sale! You don't want to miss it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Rainy Day Friends (Paper Pretties); Paper- acetate, white (Georgia-Pacific), Prints Designer Series in Bashful Blue (SU); Ink- Noir (Palette); Accessories- Copic markers, Water Dew Drops (The Robin's Nest), slit punch (SU), oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

Did you see the first sneak preview of one of the Verve Visual sets that is being released on Friday, May 16? It is called Floral Whimsy. You won't want to miss 2 more days of sneak previews with the 3 other sets that are being released! Check out the Verve Visual blog for sneak peeks and a chance to win! Good luck!

Be Inspired #13

This week's Be Inspired Challenge put me in the mindset of a masculine card. I embossed the rectangle on the card front with my Rectangle Nestabilities and then cut the Bordering Blue/Chocolate Chip piece to fit inside. I stamped the image from Essence of Love in Whisper White Craft ink and then stamped the butterfly over top in Chocolate Chip. Make sure you stop by and see what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts have been inspired to create! I can't wait to see what they've come up with! Thanks for stopping by and have a WONDERFUL day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Essence of Love (SU); Paper- white (Georgia-Pacific), Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue (SU); Ink- Whisper White Craft, Chocolate Chip (SU); Accessories- grosgrain ribbon, paper piercer, Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

Can I Have Your Autograph?

I made this card to look like one of the stars on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Hope it gives that feel. I used Stampin' Up's large star punch and the Double Ended Tag dies from Spellbinders. The stamp set is Great Expectations by Verve Visual. At first I scored the lines, but they didn't stick out enough, so I traced them with a gold gel pen. I thought this card would be perfect for a cousin performing in their first high school musical.

Be sure and check out the Verve Visual blog tomorrow for your first sneak peek of the new sets releasing this Friday, May 16th! I'm just warning you. . .you'll LOVE them! On a personal note, my husband and I are going out tonight for Mother's Day. We spent all day yesterday visiting our mothers/grandmothers, so my husband's taking me out as my gift. I'm so excited since we rarely get to go out without kids! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Great Expectations (Verve Visual); Paper- Basic Black, Kraft (SU), gold (DCWV); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- Double Ended Tag dies (Spellbinders), gold gel pen, large star punch (SU), gold brads (Making Memories)

Wishing You Success

I made this card using Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch. I used the Thankful Blossoms and Great Expectations sets from Verve Visual. The patterned paper is one of my favorites. . .the Felicity Collection from Scribble Scrabble. I LOVE it!
Well, today started out as a gloomy, rainy day here. Now the sun is out, so hopefully we'll be able to get outside for a bit! For those of you who have asked about Savannah and her allergies, she is doing MUCH better! She hasn't had the swollen eyes in the morning for the past 2 days. The doctor gave us some eye drops that REALLY helped, so she is doing well. Thanks for asking! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a WONDERFUL day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Thankful Blossoms, Great Expectations (Verve Visual); Paper- Felicity Collection (Scribble Scrabble), Really Rust, Chocolate Chip (SU); Ink- Burnt Umber (Palette); Accessories- Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain (SU), paper piercer, Chocolate Chip marker, 1 1/4" circle punch

Beate Weekend Sketch #47

I find myself using just a plain white card base more and more. I don't know if I'm just in a simple kind of mood lately or if I just really like that clean look. I'm sure it's a little of both, but I've noticed I haven't been using as many embellishments as I usually do. For this Weekend Sketch Challenge I used this little bird from the Anniversary Birds set by Verve Visual and the sentiment from the Great Expectations set. I thought the "hot stuff" sentiment would go well with a brightly-colored bird. The paper is from the Summer Stack (DCWV) and some Wild Wasabi. Make sure you stop by and see what Beate, Cambria, Jenn, Laurie, Lori and MaryJo have created with this sketch. I'm sure they will be fabulous, as usual.
