Prettie Wednesday

Two weeks ago, Jackie issued the toughest challenge I think I've faced in our Prettie Wednesday Challenges! LOL She challenged us to make our own patterned paper and then use that as both a background AND paper piece with it. I was having such a problem finding an image that was small enough so the pattern would actually show on the paper pieced part! I finally decided to use the butterfly from the Rainy Day Friends set. When stamped in all different directions, I thought it looked a little like a paisley print. I pulled out my Stampin' Pastels to rub color over the butterflies. I paper pieced Bunny Slipper Sophia's robe with my "patterned paper". Interesting robe, huh? LOL Well, I can't wait to see what the other Prettie Girls came up with for this challenge and to see if they had as hard a time as I did! You can find the links to their blogs in my sidebar. (don't forget Carolina!) Today is my turn to issue the next challenge, so my challenge is to make an Artist Trading Card (ATC). These are little 2.5"x3.5" works of art. . .can't wait to see what you come up with!

In case you haven't heard, there is a HUGE sale going on at Paper Pretties! Like 45% off EVERYTHING HUGE! Yep, you read it right. . .everything in the store is 45% off, even the sale items! It's a week-long Labor Day sale and with the already marked down sale items, you can get as much as 80% off some of the items! Just make sure when you check out, you enter the coupon code Labor Day (case sensitive). Have fun shopping! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Bunny Slippers Sophia, Rainy Day Friends (Paper Pretties); Paper- Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie (SU), pink, white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Accessories- Copic markers, Stampin' Pastels, brads (Making Memories), paper piercer; Finished card measures 4.25"square
