Dream Big

This was for today's Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS, Never Bored With Chipboard. I don't usually use chipboard on my projects. I always like when I see projects with it, but for whatever reason I just never think to use it. This chipboard heart came from my package a while ago from Beate. It's from the On Board Accents, I believe. I covered the heart with patterned paper, sanded it and added Pumpkin and Aegean Blue in my VersaMagic inks. I punched the holes in the side of the heart using my Crop-A-Dile, and added the two-toned May Arts ribbon that went perfectly with this color scheme. The faux stitching was an after-thought because the card just needed something. I think that did the trick. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this card. I'm especially happy to be back to my stamping stuff! :) I'm hoping to stamp some more today, but you all know how that goes with small children! LOL Thank you all for your "safe trip" messages! We did have a safe trip home, but it was LONG! Our first flight was delayed which caused us to miss our connecting flight, so they fixed all that. . .then, as I'm sitting there looking at our new tickets, I realized that they had us on a flight that left the following morning (today). So, after we had to go to a completely different flight into a different city than we were originally scheduled, we finally made it back to Pittsburgh by 11pm! The last leg of our trip we were bumped to First Class because that was all that was available. . .and it was a horrible trip for me. Arwen SCREAMED quite a bit and I was so embarrassed. I kept hoping the plane was so loud that people couldn't hear it as much as I thought they could. My husband said it wasn't as loud as I thought, but I just can't believe it. So, if any of you have ever flown First Class and had a screaming baby to deal with. . .please think of the poor mother who is trying EVERYTHING to not bother the other passengers. . .and of the possibility that the family didn't purchase First Class tickets knowing they had a screaming baby on their hands, but were put there by the airline due to another cancelled flight! :) Thanks for visiting, and it's great to be home! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Think Big; Paper- DCWV Turquoise and Orange, My Mind's Eye Magnolia; Ink- VersaMagic in Hint of Pesto, Pumpkin, Aegean Blue; Accessories- Crop-A-Dile, May Arts Ribbon, Making Memories flowers and brad, Old Olive marker, paper piercer, sanding block.

Welcome home! Glad to hear you all had a great time. Don't worry, you're not the only mom who's child seems 10 times louder to her than to anyone else. :)

Love the card, sorry about all the problems with your trip, that is always my fear with connecting flights, but apparently it had done nothing to your creative juices.

Glad you are home too, you know I think the sound of your own child screaming is far worse than listening to someone else's. I just feel sorry for the little ones, they don't know what to do with the pain of altitude change. Too bad you had to juggle your flights so much, ack, that is hard with kids! I see you haven't lost your creative edge though! What a beauty for today's challenge!

What a great card - I'm hoping to pull out some chipboard to play with later tonight, I never use it either. Don't worry about the flight - stuff happens! I'm leaving soon for a trip with my 1.5yr old, I know it's going to be just AWFUL, but what can you do? Only your best! Glad your back creating new stuff, woohoo! :-)
