Colorful Mother's Day

I was very inspired by Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge this morning, so I made this simple Mother's Day card. The sentiment is from the Made With Love set by Paper Pretties. I used a Great Big Brad from Hot of the Press for the flower center and dotted it with some Waterfall Stickles. Doesn't this color combination just make you happy? I know it makes me happy.

On a personal note, is anyone else having terrible allergy problems lately? As some of you know, my daughter Savannah has a lot of allergies, both food and seasonal. The past few days she's been waking up with swollen shut eyes. She rubs them terribly and her allergy medicine doesn't seem to help her where her eyes are concerned. This morning I had to keep her home from school because her eyes were not only swollen, but crusted shut. I hope she doesn't have an infection now due to the excessive rubbing. So, it's back to the doctor again today! Thanks for stopping by today! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Made With Love (Paper Pretties); Paper- Pumpkin Pie (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific), blue (DCWV); Ink- Pumpkin Pie (SU); Accessories- Prima flowers, Great Big Brad (Hot Off the Press), paper piercer, Waterfall Stickles.

I love that super happy mother's day card! It would seriously make me smile! :o)

My son gets the crusty, itchy eyes too and if he isn't careful he ends up with pink eye due to allergies which, thankfully, is different then the other kind of pink eye. Anyway, I hope things get easier very soon! We are going through the same thing here!

I'd also get her checked for pink eye. My son had a double ear infection and pink eye in both eyes a few weeks ago. That is about when allergies hit around here too.

Love the card!

I do like the card. Such an interesting color combo. Not sure if I would ever use it.
So sorry to hear about your daughter. We moved to a different state this winter so I am trying to come accustome to the seasons here. Needless to say I have been having some issues with allergies but not that bad. I hope she is doing better.

YIKES! BRIGHT colors! You could have warned us to put on the shades! LOL

No...your card is beautiful. Brilliant blue and all.

P.S.: No, using dusted over, old sets isn't the same as having new rubber! Not even close.

Hugs and grins

Charmaine! How do you always manage to make such fantastic cards? This card is awesome! I did the color challenge too but your is SO much better! :D Great job!

Actually, as crazy as it sounds, I was noticing last night that I have been having some weird sinus problems and I am not sick! I get these horrible sinus headaches just out of the blue and I can't remember EVER having sinus headaches (besides when I dying of sickness). That's so weird that you mentioned your daughter's sinus problems. I hope she is ok! Let us know!

Such a cheery Mother's Day card! Love the inspiration colors! So sorry to hear about your dear daughter. I went through terrible allergies here, escpecially when spring first hit us in southern California. No food issues, just horrible headaches. Hope to hear good news tomorrow from you! Love to your dear bug Savannah. Deb

I think everyone is going through the same things!! My dh is on his forth round of antibiotics for a sinus infection and is going in for allergy testing. My niece Taylor has missed a ton of school because her allergies cause her to run a fever and they won't let you stay at school if you have a fever. Your card is gorgeous though, and I love the colors and the big flowers!!

What an interesting color combination, they look great together.
Sorry to hear about your little one, this year has been terrible if you suffer from allergies. Maybe they need to change the allergy medicine to cover indoor and outdoor allergies, since you don't know the source? She is probably too little to do an allergy test on. Do you have animals? I'm allergic to our dog and no allergy medicine really helps. I hope you figure out whats going on.

Sorry about the allergies. We too get it in the eyes. Our Dr. recommended Zaditor - it was previously prescription but now is over the counter. It is a little expensive but it really works and only a drop or two I think twice a day (check the label!) Good luck. Thanks for the card.

Have your daughter try Naphcon A. It's an OTC eye drop with an antihistamine. I have severe allergies and asthma and rely on that and have for many years. It is a little more pricey but well worth the cost.
