Cool Mustard

This was for today's Color Challenge, Cool Mustard. . .to use More Mustard, Cool Caribbean , Cranberry Crisp and Old Olive (optional). I decided to use another new bella. . . well, since she's new! I wanted to try the paper piecing technique as well. . .where you stamp your image on the patterned paper and cut out just one portion (on this card, just the dress) and adhere it over top of the stamped image on Whisper White. Since the dress already had the flower pattern on it, I decided to just darken the flowers with my Old Olive marker. I love the way her dress turned out though! Once I colored in Walkabella and her dog, the upper right hand portion of the white cardstock looked empty, so I stamped "girl" in Cool Caribbean on Cool Caribbean paper. (That sentiment is from one of the Studio G clear $1 stamp sets that I found at Michael's). I then punched the sentiment out with the large oval punch and attached it to the white cardstock. Finally, I added the piercing around the edge of the oval and punched it with the horizontal slot punch to add the May Arts ribbon. The More Mustard photo corner and brads were last minute add-ons. I really love this patterned paper. It's from DCWV. Who would have known it would match a color challenge so well?! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Walkabella, Stamping Bella, Studio G clear stamp set, A Muse large oval; Paper- DCWV patterned paper, olive and mustard, SU Whisper White and Cranberry Crisp; Ink- Basic Black, Cool Caribbean, Old Olive; Accessories- More Mustard, Blush Blossom markers, blender pen, Making Memories brads, large oval punch, May Arts ribbon.
Well, we ended up having a wonderful day outdoors. After Savannah's dental appointment (which, by the way, she got a big A+ for) we stopped by my MIL's for a delicious lunch. On the way home, it did rain quite a bit, but it stopped and we were able to go for a nice long walk. When we got back from our walk, we cooked on the grill and ate dinner on the back deck. It was such a nice finish to a beautiful day!

Love those colours together, but I would never have chosen them on my own. I guess I don't have that much imagination! Love your cards, Charmaine.
