Up All Night

I think last night was one of the longest nights of my life. As I told you in a previous post, both of my daughters are sick. I think they're both on the road to getting over these colds, but they both coughed the entire night. They have so much congestion that's working it's way out that I spent the night worrying about them drowning in the congestion. When I would finally get one settled down and over her coughing fit, the other one would start. I feel pretty awake right now for how little sleep I got, but I'm sure it will hit me in a couple of hours. LOL

The Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast was called On An Angle. The focal image of the card was to be a square placed on an angle. The first thing that came to my mind was my Cosmobella and this sentiment by Alma de la Rosa. If I had three martinis, I would be "on an angle" too! :) Well, actually, make that just one martini! LOL I couldn't make the focal piece a square unless I cut off Cosmobella's legs, so I made mine a rectangle. I hope that wasn't straying too much from the actual challenge. I just recently got the DCWV Spring Stack and it had some really cool, retro looking papers in it, so I put these two together. I colored Cosmobella in with ink pads and a blender pen. I used the A Muse Small Oval to ground her. I originally stamped the sentiment right beside the bella, but it came off the edge of the paper a little, so I decided to stamp it on another piece of paper and punch it out. I think I actually like it better than my original idea. Don't you love how mistakes turn into things you like more? I rolled the edge of the punched circle in a Pastel Pink Fluid Chalk pad to make it pop. Last, I added this ribbon that I got from Oriental Trading. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Such a fabulous card. Cosmobella looks wonderful with these retro looking papers. Some of my best ideas have come from covering up mistakes! LOL
