Today's the Day!

Today, Verve Visual has released THREE new stamp sets! If you haven't seen them yet, head on over and check them out! I can't decide which one I like the best! Here's a project with each of the new sets. The first one uses Thankful Blossoms. I just LOVE how whimsical and CUTE this set is. I stamped and colored the butterfly twice (once on the panel and once on scrap paper)and then cut the wings out of scrap paper and mounted them on top of the focal piece with dimensionals to give the butterfly a 3D quality. The flower is made with one of the leaf images from the set. I added some Martha Stewart Brownstone glitter to the butterfly, a rust rhinestone brad to the flower and some fine paper piercing along the bottom of the card to finish it off. (By the way, I found out with this card that I could watercolor with my VersaMagic pad! I added too much ink on the wing with my blender pen, so I used my Aquapainter to try and remove some color in the middle and it worked!)

The second card is from the Anniversary Birds set. See, I told you I couldn't decide which set was my favorite! LOL I also just LOVE the paper Julee sent to us. It's all Scribble Scrabble and I LOVE it. This particular one is from the Felicity Collection. I stamped the two birds and then masked them to stamp the stems and leaves behind them. Julee made me laugh when she said it looks like these birds are having a "secret rendezvous in the grass". That is too funny because she's right! LOL I used a small strip of mint green paper and made slices in it to look like grass and attached it along the bottom of the panel. The sentiment was stamped in Whisper White Craft in and VersaMagic Thatched Straw. I love how it shows up on the dark cardstock.

The last card is from the Easter Elegance set. I love the "wrought iron" look of the cross. For this card I used the Bouncing Brayer Technique to get the look of a "glow" of light coming from the cross. I added some orange rhinestones to enhance the glow. Finally I faux stitched around the focal panel with a Basic Black marker and added some black organdy ribbon.
Be sure and check out the Verve Gallery to see all of the AMAZING things the Design Team has come up with for these sets. I'm sure they'll make it hard for you NOT to want the sets! :) Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
